コリント人への手紙第一 15
1 兄弟たちよ。わたしが以前あなたがたに伝えた福音、あなたがたが受けいれ、それによって立ってきたあの福音を、思い起してもらいたい。
But I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which you indeed received, in which you also stand,
2 もしあなたがたが、いたずらに信じないで、わたしの宣べ伝えたとおりの言葉を固く守っておれば、この福音によって救われるのである。
by which you are also saved; which word I preached to you, if you hold it fast, otherwise you believed in vain.
3 わたしが最も大事なこととしてあなたがたに伝えたのは、わたし自身も受けたことであった。すなわちキリストが、聖書に書いてあるとおり、わたしたちの罪のために死んだこと、
For I delivered unto you in the first place that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 そして葬られたこと、聖書に書いてあるとおり、三日目によみがえったこと、
and that he was buried, and that he arose on the third day according to the Scriptures;
5 ケパに現れ、次に、十二人に現れたことである。
and that he was seen by Cephas; then by the twelve.
6 そののち、五百人以上の兄弟たちに、同時に現れた。その中にはすでに眠った者たちもいるが、大多数はいまなお生存している。
Then he was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once, of whom the more remain unto this day, but some have fallen asleep.
7 そののち、ヤコブに現れ、次に、すべての使徒たちに現れ、
Then he was seen by James; then by all the apostles.
8 そして最後に、いわば、月足らずに生れたようなわたしにも、現れたのである。
But last of all he was seen by me, as one born out of due time.
9 実際わたしは、神の教会を迫害したのであるから、使徒たちの中でいちばん小さい者であって、使徒と呼ばれる値うちのない者である。
For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 しかし、神の恵みによって、わたしは今日あるを得ているのである。そして、わたしに賜わった神の恵みはむだにならず、むしろ、わたしは彼らの中のだれよりも多く働いてきた。しかしそれは、わたし自身ではなく、わたしと共にあった神の恵みである。
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace was not vain toward me; but I have labored more abundantly than they all: and not I, but the grace of God with me.
11 とにかく、わたしにせよ彼らにせよ、そのように、わたしたちは宣べ伝えており、そのように、あなたがたは信じたのである。
Then whether I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.
12 さて、キリストは死人の中からよみがえったのだと宣べ伝えられているのに、あなたがたの中のある者が、死人の復活などはないと言っているのは、どうしたことか。
But if Christ is preached that he is risen from the dead, how do certain ones among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 もし死人の復活がないならば、キリストもよみがえらなかったであろう。
but if there is no resurrection of the dead, Christ is not risen:
14 もしキリストがよみがえらなかったとしたら、わたしたちの宣教はむなしく、あなたがたの信仰もまたむなしい。
but if Christ is not risen, then indeed is our preaching vain, and your faith is vain.
15 すると、わたしたちは神にそむく偽証人にさえなるわけだ。なぜなら、万一死人がよみがえらないとしたら、わたしたちは神が実際よみがえらせなかったはずのキリストを、よみがえらせたと言って、神に反するあかしを立てたことになるからである。
And we are indeed found false witnesses of God; because we testified according to God that he raised Christ: whom he did not raise, if then the dead rise not.
16 もし死人がよみがえらないなら、キリストもよみがえらなかったであろう。
But if the dead rise not, neither is Christ risen.
17 もしキリストがよみがえらなかったとすれば、あなたがたの信仰は空虚なものとなり、あなたがたは、いまなお罪の中にいることになろう。
But if Christ is not risen, your faith is vain; you are yet in your sins.
18 そうだとすると、キリストにあって眠った者たちは、滅んでしまったのである。
Then indeed those having fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
19 もしわたしたちが、この世の生活でキリストにあって単なる望みをいだいているだけだとすれば、わたしたちは、すべての人の中で最もあわれむべき存在となる。
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
20 しかし事実、キリストは眠っている者の初穂として、死人の中からよみがえったのである。
But now Christ is risen from the dead, the firstfruit of them that slept.
21 それは、死がひとりの人によってきたのだから、死人の復活もまた、ひとりの人によってこなければならない。
For since death was through a man, the resurrection of the dead is also through a man.
22 アダムにあってすべての人が死んでいるのと同じように、キリストにあってすべての人が生かされるのである。
For as in Adam all die, so truly in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 ただ、各自はそれぞれの順序に従わねばならない。最初はキリスト、次に、主の来臨に際してキリストに属する者たち、
But each one in his own rank: Christ the first-fruit; then they who are Christ's, at His coming:
24 それから終末となって、その時に、キリストはすべての君たち、すべての権威と権力とを打ち滅ぼして、国を父なる神に渡されるのである。
then the end, when he may deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he may destroy all government, all authority and power.
25 なぜなら、キリストはあらゆる敵をその足もとに置く時までは、支配を続けることになっているからである。
For it behooves him to reign until he may put all enemies under his feet.
26 最後の敵として滅ぼされるのが、死である。
Death the last enemy is destroyed.
27 「神は万物を彼の足もとに従わせた」からである。ところが、万物を従わせたと言われる時、万物を従わせたかたがそれに含まれていないことは、明らかである。
For, he has subordinated all things beneath his feet. But when he may say, that all things have been subordinated, it is evident that the One having subordinated all things to him is excepted.
28 そして、万物が神に従う時には、御子自身もまた、万物を従わせたそのかたに従うであろう。それは、神がすべての者にあって、すべてとなられるためである。
But when he may subordinate all things to him, then the Son himself will also be subordinated to him who hath subordinated all things to Himself, in order that God may be all things in all.
29 そうでないとすれば、死者のためにバプテスマを受ける人々は、なぜそれをするのだろうか。もし死者が全くよみがえらないとすれば、なぜ人々が死者のためにバプテスマを受けるのか。
Then what shall they do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead rise not at all, why are they also baptized for them?
30 また、なんのために、わたしたちはいつも危険を冒しているのか。
Why indeed are we in jeopardy every hour?
31 兄弟たちよ。わたしたちの主キリスト・イエスにあって、わたしがあなたがたにつき持っている誇にかけて言うが、わたしは日々死んでいるのである。
I protest by your rejoicing, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 もし、わたしが人間の考えによってエペソで獣と戦ったとすれば、それはなんの役に立つのか。もし死人がよみがえらないのなら、「わたしたちは飲み食いしようではないか。あすもわからぬいのちなのだ」。
If after the manner of men I have fought with the wild beasts in Ephesus, what profit is it to me? If the dead rise not, let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.
33 まちがってはいけない。「悪い交わりは、良いならわしをそこなう」。
Be not deceived: Evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 目ざめて身を正し、罪を犯さないようにしなさい。あなたがたのうちには、神について無知な人々がいる。あなたがたをはずかしめるために、わたしはこう言うのだ。
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak to your shame.
35 しかし、ある人は言うだろう。「どんなふうにして、死人がよみがえるのか。どんなからだをして来るのか」。
But one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what body do they come?
36 おろかな人である。あなたのまくものは、死ななければ、生かされないではないか。
Thou foolish one, that which thou sowest, is not quickened unless it may die;
37 また、あなたのまくのは、やがて成るべきからだをまくのではない。麦であっても、ほかの種であっても、ただの種粒にすぎない。
and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but naked grain, if it may happen to be of wheat, or of some one of the other grains;
38 ところが、神はみこころのままに、これにからだを与え、その一つ一つの種にそれぞれのからだをお与えになる。
but God gives it a body as he wished; and to each of the seeds its own body.
39 すべての肉が、同じ肉なのではない。人の肉があり、獣の肉があり、鳥の肉があり、魚の肉がある。
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is indeed a flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.
40 天に属するからだもあれば、地に属するからだもある。天に属するものの栄光は、地に属するものの栄光と違っている。
Indeed there are heavenly bodies, and there are earthly bodies: but indeed there is one glory of the heavenlies, and another glory of those upon the earth.
41 日の栄光があり、月の栄光があり、星の栄光がある。また、この星とあの星との間に、栄光の差がある。
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory:
42 死人の復活も、また同様である。朽ちるものでまかれ、朽ちないものによみがえり、
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 卑しいものでまかれ、栄光あるものによみがえり、弱いものでまかれ、強いものによみがえり、
it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.
44 肉のからだでまかれ、霊のからだによみがえるのである。肉のからだがあるのだから、霊のからだもあるわけである。
It is sown a psychical body; it is raised a pneumatical body. If there is a psychical body, there is also a pneumatical (body).
45 聖書に「最初の人アダムは生きたものとなった」と書いてあるとおりである。しかし最後のアダムは命を与える霊となった。
As indeed it has been written; The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last man Adam, a life-creating spirit.
46 最初にあったのは、霊のものではなく肉のものであって、その後に霊のものが来るのである。
But that which is spiritual was not first, but that which is animal; afterward that which is spiritual.
47 第一の人は地から出て土に属し、第二の人は天から来る。
The first man was from the earth, earthy: the second man from heaven.
48 この土に属する人に、土に属している人々は等しく、この天に属する人に、天に属している人々は等しいのである。
As was the earthy, such are they also who are earthy; and as was the heavenly, such are they also who are heavenly.
49 すなわち、わたしたちは、土に属している形をとっているのと同様に、また天に属している形をとるであろう。
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we must also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 兄弟たちよ。わたしはこの事を言っておく。肉と血とは神の国を継ぐことができないし、朽ちるものは朽ちないものを継ぐことがない。
But I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood are not able to inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
51 ここで、あなたがたに奥義を告げよう。わたしたちすべては、眠り続けるのではない。終りのラッパの響きと共に、またたく間に、一瞬にして変えられる。
Behold, I speak to you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 というのは、ラッパが響いて、死人は朽ちない者によみがえらされ、わたしたちは変えられるのである。
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 なぜなら、この朽ちるものは必ず朽ちないものを着、この死ぬものは必ず死なないものを着ることになるからである。
For it behooves this corruptible to put on incorruption, and this mortal to put on immortality.
54 この朽ちるものが朽ちないものを着、この死ぬものが死なないものを着るとき、聖書に書いてある言葉が成就するのである。
But when this corruptible may put on incorruption, and this mortal may put on immorality, then shall the word which has been written be fulfilled, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? (Hadēs g86)
56 死のとげは罪である。罪の力は律法である。
But the sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law.
57 しかし感謝すべきことには、神はわたしたちの主イエス・キリストによって、わたしたちに勝利を賜わったのである。
But thanks be unto God, who gives us our victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 だから、愛する兄弟たちよ。堅く立って動かされず、いつも全力を注いで主のわざに励みなさい。主にあっては、あなたがたの労苦がむだになることはないと、あなたがたは知っているからである。
So, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
