ルツ記 3
1 爰に姑ナオミ彼にいひけるは女子よ我汝の安身所を求めて汝を幸ならしむべきにあらずや
Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
2 夫汝が偕にありし婢等を有る彼ボアズは我等の知己なるにあらずや 視よ彼は今夜 禾塲にて大麥を簸る
And now [is] not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to-night in the threshing-floor.
3 然ば汝の身を洗て膏をぬり衣服をまとひて禾塲に下り汝をその人にしらせずしてその食飮を終るを待て
Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and go down to the floor: [but] make not thyself known to the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
4 而て彼が臥す時に汝その臥す所を見とめおき入てその脚を掀開りて其處に臥せよ 彼なんぢの爲べきことを汝につげんと
And it shall be when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.
5 ルツ姑にいひけるは汝が我に言ところは我皆なすべしと
And she said to her, All that thou sayest to me I will do.
6 すなはち禾塲に下り凡てその姑の命ぜしごとくなせり
And she went down to the floor, and did according to all that her mother-in-law bade her.
7 偖ボアズは食飮をなしてその心をたのしませ往て麥を積る所の傍に臥す 是に於て彼潜にゆきその足を掀開て其處に臥す
And when Boaz had eaten and drank, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid herself down.
8 夜半におよびて其人畏懼をおこし起かへりて見るに一人の婦その足の方に臥ゐたれば
And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and behold, a woman lay at his feet.
9 汝は誰なるやといふに婦こたへて我は汝の婢ルツなり 汝の裾をもて婢を覆ひたまへ 汝は贖業者なればなり
And he said, Who [art] thou? And she answered, I [am] Ruth thy handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thy handmaid; for thou [art] a near kinsman.
10 ボアズいひけるは女子よねがはくはヱホバの恩典なんぢにいたれ 汝の後の誠實は前のよりも勝る 其は汝貧きと富とを論ず少き人に從ふことをせざればなり
And he said, Blessed [be] thou of the LORD, my daughter: [for] thou hast shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou didst not follow young men, whether poor or rich.
11 されば女子よ懼るなかれ 汝が言ふところの事は皆われ汝のためになすべし 其はわが邑の人皆なんぢの賢き女なるをしればなり
And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou [art] a virtuous woman.
12 我はまことに贖業者なりと雖も我よりも近き贖業者あり
And now it is true that I [am thy] near kinsman: yet there is a kinsman nearer than I.
13 今夜は此に住宿れ 朝におよびて彼もし汝のために贖ふならば善し彼に贖はしめよ 然ど彼もし汝のために贖ふことを好まずばヱホバは活く我汝のために贖はん 朝まで此に臥せよと
Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, [that] if he will perform to thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, [as] the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.
14 ルツ朝までその足の方に臥て誰彼の辨がたき頃に起あがる ボアズ此女の禾塲に來りしことを人にしらしむべからずといへり
And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came to the floor.
15 而していひけるは汝の著る袿衣を將きたりて其を開げよと 即ち開げければ大麥六升を量りて之に負せたり 斯して彼邑にいたりぬ
Also he said, Bring the vail that [thou hast] upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six [measures] of barley, and laid [it] on her: and she went into the city.
16 爰にルツその姑の許に至るに姑いふ 女子よ如何ありしやと 彼すなはち其人の己になしたる事をことごとく之につげて
And when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, Who [art] thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
17 而していひけるは彼空手にて汝の姑の許に往くなかれといひて此六升の大麥を我にあたへたり
And she said, These six [measures] of barley he gave me; for he said to me, Go not empty to thy mother-in-law.
18 姑いひけるは女子よ坐して待ち事の如何になりゆくかを見よ 彼人今日その事を爲終ずば安んぜざるべければなり
Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou knowest how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he hath finished the thing this day.
