ヨハネの黙示録 12
1 また天に大なる徴 見えたり。日を著たる女ありて、其の足の下に月あり、其の頭に十二の星の冠冕あり。
And a great wonder was seen in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a coronet of twelve stars.
2 かれは孕りをりしが、子を産まんとして産みの苦痛と惱とのために叫べり、
And, being with child, she cried, and travailed, and had the pangs of bringing forth.
3 また天に他の徴 見えたり。視よ、大なる赤き龍あり、これに七つの頭と十の角とありて、頭には七つの冠冕あり。
And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and lo, a great fiery dragon, which had seven heads and ten horns, and upon his head seven diadems.
4 その尾は天の星の三分の一を引きて之を地に落せり。龍は子を産まんとする女の前に立ち、産むを待ちて其の子を食ひ盡さんと構へたり。
And his tail drew along the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them on the earth. And the dragon was standing before the woman, who was about to bring forth, so that, when she should bring forth, he might devour her child.
5 女は男子を産めり、この子は鐵の杖もて諸種の國人を治めん。かれは神の許に、その御座の下に擧げられたり。
And she brought forth a male child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her child was caught up to God and to his throne.
6 女は荒野に逃げゆけり。彼處に千二百 六十日の間かれが養はるる爲に神の備へ給へる所あり。
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place which was prepared for her by God; so that they might nourish her there a thousand and two hundred and sixty days.
7 かくて天に戰爭おこれり、ミカエル及びその使たち龍とたたかふ。龍もその使たちも之と戰ひしが、
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought,
8 勝つこと能はず、天には、はや其の居る所なかりき。
and prevailed not; nor was their place found any more in heaven.
9 かの大なる龍、すなわち惡魔と呼ばれ、サタンと呼ばれたる全世界をまどはす古き蛇は落され、地に落され、その使たちも共に落されたり。
And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent, who is called the Deceiver, and Satan, who seduceth all the inhabited world: he was cast upon the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 我また天に大なる聲ありて『われらの神の救と能力と國と神のキリストの權威とは、今すでに來れり。我らの兄弟を訴へ夜晝われらの神の前に訴ふるもの落されたり。
And I heard a great voice in heaven, which said: Now is there deliverance, and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the dominion of his Messiah: because the Accuser of our brethren is cast out, who accused them day and night before our God.
11 而して兄弟たちは羔羊の血と己が證の言とによりて勝ち、死に至るまで己が生命を惜まざりき。
And they overcame him, because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony: and they loved not their life, even to death.
12 この故に天および天に住める者よ、よろこべ、地と海とは禍害なるかな、惡魔おのが時の暫時なるを知り、大なる憤恚をいだきて汝 等のもとに下りたればなり』と云ふを聞けり。
Therefore, be joyful, O heaven, and ye that dwell there. Woe to the earth, and to the sea; for the Deceiver hath come down to you, being in great wrath since he knoweth that his time is short.
13 かくて龍はおのが地に落されしを見て、男子を生みし女を責めたりしが、
And when the dragon saw that he was cast out upon the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the male child.
14 女は荒野なる己が處に飛ぶために、大なる鷲の兩の翼を與へられたれば、其處にいたり、一年、二年、また半年のあひだ蛇のまへを離れて養はれたり。
And to the woman were given the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, to her place; where she is nourished a time and times and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 蛇はその口より水を川のごとく、女の背後に吐きて之を流さんとしたれど、
And the serpent ejected from his mouth waters like a river, after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.
16 地は女を助け、その口を開きて龍の口より吐きたる川を呑み盡せり。
And the earth helped the woman: and the earth opened its mouth, and drank up the flood which the serpent ejected from his mouth.
17 龍は女を怒りてその裔の殘れるもの、即ち神の誡命を守りイエスの證を有てる者に、戰鬪を挑まんとて出でゆき、 海邊の砂の上に立てり。
And the dragon was enraged against the woman; and he went to make war upon the residue of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus. [ (Revelation of John 12:18) And he stood on the sand of the sea. ]
