< 箴言 知恵の泉 28 >
1 惡者は逐ふ者なけれども逃げ 義者は獅子のごとくに勇まし
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2 國の罪によりて侯伯多くなり 智くして知識ある人によりて國は長く保つ
For the transgression of a land many [are] the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding [and] knowledge the state [thereof] shall be prolonged.
3 弱者を虐ぐる貧人は糧をのこさざる暴しき雨のごとし
A poor man that oppresseth the poor [is like] a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4 律法を棄るものは惡者をほめ 律法を守る者はこれに敵す
They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 惡人は義きことを覺らず ヱホバを求むる者は凡の事をさとる
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all [things].
Better [is] the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than [he that is] perverse [in his] ways, though he [be] rich.
7 律法を守る者は智子なり 放蕩なる者に交るものは父を辱かしむ
Whoso keepeth the law [is] a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous [men] shameth his father.
8 利息と高利とをもてその財產を増すものは貧人をめぐむ者のために之をたくはふるなり
He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
9 耳をそむけて律法を聞ざる者はその祈すらも憎まる
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer [shall be] abomination.
10 義者を惡き道に惑す者はみづから自己の阱に陷らん されど質直なる者は福祉をつぐべし
Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good [things] in possession.
11 富者はおのれの目に自らを智慧ある者となす されど聰明ある貧者は彼をはかり知る
The rich man [is] wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12 義者の喜ぶときは大なる榮あり 惡者の起るときは民身を匿す
When righteous [men] do rejoice, [there is] great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
13 その罪を隱すものは榮ゆることなし 然ど認らはして之を離るる者は憐憫をうけん
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy.
14 恒に畏るる人は幸福なり その心を剛愎にする者は災禍に陷るべし
Happy [is] the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
15 貧しき民を治むるあしき侯伯は吼る獅子あるひは饑たる熊のごとし
[As] a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; [so is] a wicked ruler over the poor people.
16 智からざる君はおほく暴虐をおこなふ 不義の利を惡む者は遐齢をうべし
The prince that wanteth understanding [is] also a great oppressor: [but] he that hateth covetousness shall prolong [his] days.
17 人を殺してその血を心に負ふ者は墓に奔るなり 人これを阻むること勿れ
A man that doeth violence to the blood of [any] person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
18 義く行む者は救をえ 曲れる路に行む者は直に跌れん
Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but [he that is] perverse [in his] ways shall fall at once.
19 おのれの田地を耕す者は糧にあき 放蕩なる者に從ふものは貧乏に飽く
He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain [persons] shall have poverty enough.
20 忠信なる人は多くの幸福をえ 速かに富を得んとする者は罪を免れず
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
21 人を偏視るはよからず 人はただ一片のパンのために愆を犯すなり
To have respect of persons [is] not good: for for a piece of bread [that] man will transgress.
22 惡目をもつ者は財をえんとて急がはしく 却て貧窮のおのれに來るを知らず
He that hasteth to be rich [hath] an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
23 人を譴むる者は舌をもて諂ふ者よりも大なる感謝をうく
He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24 父母の物を竊みて罪ならずといふ者は滅す者の友なり
Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, [It is] no transgression; the same [is] the companion of a destroyer.
25 心に貧る者は爭端を起し ヱホバに倚賴むものは豊饒になるべし
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26 おのれの心を恃む者は愚なり 智慧をもて行む者は救をえん
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 貧者に賙すものは乏しからず その目を掩ふ者は詛を受ること多し
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 惡者の起るときは人匿れ その滅るときは義者ます
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
