箴言 知恵の泉 20
1 酒は人をして嘲らせ 濃酒は人をして騒がしむ 之に迷はさるる者は無智なり
Wine [is] a mocker, strong drink [is] raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
2 王の震怒は獅の吼るがごとし 彼を怒らする者は自己のいのちを害ふ
The fear of a king [is] as the roaring of a lion: [whoso] provoketh him to anger sinneth [against] his own soul.
3 穩かに居りて爭はざるは人の榮譽なりすべて愚なる者は怒り爭ふ
[It is] an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
4 惰者は寒ければとて耕さず この故に収穫のときにおよびて求るとも得るところなし
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; [therefore] shall he beg in harvest, and [have] nothing.
5 人の心にある謀計は深き井の水のごとし 然れど哲人はこれを汲出す
Counsel in the heart of man [is like] deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
6 凡そ人は各自おのれの善を誇る されど誰か忠信なる者に遇しぞ
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
7 身を正しくして歩履む義人はその後の子孫に福祉あるべし
The just [man] walketh in his integrity: his children [are] blessed after him.
8 審判の位に坐する王はその目をもてすべての惡を散す
A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
9 たれか我わが心をきよめ わが罪を潔められたりといひ得るや
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
10 二種の權衡二種の斗量は等しくヱホバに憎まる
Divers weights, [and] divers measures, both of them [are] alike abomination to the LORD.
11 幼子といへどもその動作によりておのれの根性の清きか或は正しきかをあらはす
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work [be] pure, and whether [it be] right.
12 聽くところの耳と視るところの眼とはともにヱホバの造り給へるものなり
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
13 なんぢ睡眠を愛すること勿れ 恐くは貧窮にいたらん 汝の眼をひらけ 然らば糧に飽べし
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, [and] thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
14 買者はいふ惡し惡しと 然れど去りて後はみづから誇る
[It is] naught, [it is] naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
15 金もあり眞珠も多くあれど貴き器は知識のくちびるなり
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge [are] a precious jewel.
16 人の保證をなす者よりは先その衣をとれ 他人の保證をなす者をばかたくとらへよ
Take his garment that is surety [for] a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
17 欺きとりし糧は人に甜し されど後にはその口に沙を充されん
Bread of deceit [is] sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18 謀計は相議るによりて成る 戰はんとせば先よく議るべし
[Every] purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
19 あるきめぐりて人の是非をいふ者は密事をもらす 口唇をひらきてあるくものと交ること勿れ
He that goeth about [as] a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
20 おのれの父母を罵るものはその燈火くらやみの中に消ゆべし
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
21 初に俄に得たる產業はその終さいはひならず
An inheritance [may be] gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
22 われ惡に報いんと言ふこと勿れ ヱホバを待て 彼なんぢを救はん
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; [but] wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
23 二種の法馬はヱホバに憎まる 虚偽の權衡は善らず
Divers weights [are] an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance [is] not good.
24 人の歩履はヱホバによる 人いかで自らその道を明かにせんや
Man’s goings [are] of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
25 漫に誓願をたつることは其人の罟となる誓願をたててのちに考ふることも亦然り
[It is] a snare to the man [who] devoureth [that which is] holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
26 賢き王は箕をもて簸るごとく惡人を散し 車輪をもて碾すごとく之を罰す
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
27 人の霊魂はヱホバの燈火にして人の心の奧を窺ふ
The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
28 王は仁慈と眞實をもて自らたもつ その位もまた恩惠のおこなひによりて堅くなる
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
29 少者の榮はその力 おいたる者の美しきは白髮なり
The glory of young men [is] their strength: and the beauty of old men [is] the gray head.
30 傷つくまでに打たば惡きところきよまり 打てる鞭は腹の底までもとほる
The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so [do] stripes the inward parts of the belly.
