ナホム書 3
1 禍なるかな血を流す邑 その中には全く詭譎および暴行充ち掠め取ること息まず
Woe to the bloody city! It is all full of lies and rapine. The prey departs not.
2 鞭の音あり輪の轟く音あり 馬は躍り跳ね車は輾り行く
The noise of the whip, and the noise of the rattling of wheels, and prancing horses, and bounding chariots,
3 騎兵馳のぼり劍きらめき鎗ひらめく 殺さるる者夥多しくして死屍山を爲し死骸限なし 皆死屍に躓きて倒る
the horseman mounting, and the flashing sword, and the glittering spear, and a multitude of slain, and a great heap of corpses, and there is no end of the bodies. They stumble upon their bodies,
4 是はかの魔術の主なる美しき妓女多く淫行を行ひその淫行をもて諸國を奪ひその魔術をもて諸族を惑したるに因てなり
because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, who sells nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
5 萬軍のヱホバ言たまふ 視よ我なんぢに臨む 我なんぢの裳裾を掲げて面の上にまで及ぼし汝の陰所を諸民に見し汝の羞る所を諸國に見すべし
Behold, I am against thee, says Jehovah of hosts, and I will uncover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will show the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
6 我また穢はしき物を汝の上に投かけて汝を辱しめ汝をして賽物とならしめん
And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazing-stock.
7 凡て汝を見る者はみな汝を避て奔り去りニネベは亡びたりと言ん 誰か汝のために哀かんや 何處よりして我なんぢを弔ふ者を尋ね得んや
And it shall come to pass, that all those who look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste. Who will bemoan her? From where shall I seek comforters for thee?
8 汝あにノアモンに愈らんや ノアモンは河々の間に立ち水をその周圍に環らし海をもて壕となし海をもて垣となせり
Are thou better than No-amon, that was situated among the rivers, that had the waters round about her, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was of the sea?
9 かつその勢力たる者はエテオピア人およびエジプト人などにして限あらず フテ人ルビ人等汝を助けたりき
Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite. Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
10 然るに是も俘囚となりて擄はれてゆきその子女は一切の衢の隅々にて投付られて碎け又その尊貴者は籤にて分たれ其大なる者はみな鏈に繋がれたり
Yet she was carried away. She went into captivity. Her young sons also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streets. And they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
11 汝もまた酔せられて終に隱匿ん 汝もまた敵を避て逃るる處を尋ね求めん
Thou also shall be drunken. Thou shall be hid. Thou also shall seek a stronghold because of the enemy.
12 汝の城々はみな初に結びし果のなれる無花果樹のごとし 之を撼がせばその果落て食はんとする者の口にいる
All thy fortresses shall be like fig trees with the first ripe figs. If they be shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.
13 汝の中にある民は婦人のごとし 汝の地の門はみな汝の敵の前に廣く開きてあり 火なんぢの關を焚ん
Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women. The gates of thy land are set wide open to thine enemies. The fire has devoured thy bars.
14 汝水を汲て圍まるる時の用に備へ汝の城々を堅くし泥の中に入て踐て石灰を作りかつ瓦燒窰を修理へよ
Draw thee water for the siege. Strengthen thy fortresses. Go into the clay, and tread the mortar. Make strong the brick kiln.
15 其處にて火汝を燒き劍なんぢを斬ん 其なんぢを滅すこと吸蝗のごとくなるべし 汝吸蝗のごとく數多からば多かれ 汝群蝗のごとく數多からば多かれ
There the fire shall devour thee. The sword shall cut thee off. It shall devour thee like the canker-worm. Make thyself many as the canker-worm. Make thyself many as the locust.
16 汝はおのれの商賣を空の星よりも多くせり 吸蝗掠めて飛さる
Thou have multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven. The canker-worm ravages, and flees away.
17 汝の重臣は群蝗のごとく汝の軍長は蝗の群のごとし 寒き日には垣に巣窟を構へ日出きたれば飛て去る その在る處を知る者なし
Thy rulers are as the locusts, and thy marshals as the swarms of grasshoppers, which encamp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun arises they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
18 アッスリヤの王よ汝の牧者は睡り汝の貴族は臥す 又なんぢの民は山々に散さる 之を聚むる者なし
Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria. Thy nobles are at rest. Thy people are scattered upon the mountains, and there is none to gather them.
19 汝の傷は愈ること無し 汝の創は重し 汝の事を聞およぶ者はみな汝の故によりて手を拍ん 誰か汝の惡行を恒に身に受ざる者やある
There is no assuaging of thy hurt. Thy wound is grievous. All who hear the report of thee clap their hands over thee, for upon whom has not thy wickedness passed continually?
