マタイの福音書 1
1 アブラハムの子、ダビデの子、イエス・キリストの系圖。
The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 アブラハム、イサクを生み、イサク、ヤコブを生み、ヤコブ、ユダとその兄弟らとを生み、
Abraham was the father of Isaac; and Isaac was the father of Jacob; and Jacob was the father of Judas and his brothers;
3 ユダ、タマルによりてパレスとザラとを生み、パレス、エスロンを生み、エスロン、アラムを生み、
And Judas was the father of Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares was the father of Esrom; and Esrom was the father of Aram;
4 アラム、アミナダブを生み、アミナダブ、ナアソンを生み、ナアソン、サルモンを生み、
And Aram was the father of Aminadab; and Aminadab was the father of Naasson; and Naasson was the father of Salmon;
5 サルモン、ラハブによりてボアズを生み、ボアズ、ルツによりてオベデを生み、オベデ、エツサイを生み、
And Salmon was the father of Booz of Rachab; and Booz was the father of Obed of Ruth; and Obed was the father of Jesse;
6 エツサイ、ダビデ王を生めり。ダビデ、ウリヤの妻たりし女によりてソロモンを生み、
And Jesse was the father of David the king; and David the king was the father of Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
7 ソロモン、レハベアムを生み、レハベアム、アビヤを生み、アビヤ、アサを生み、
And Solomon was the father of Roboam; and Roboam was the father of Abia; and Abia was the father of Asa;
8 アサ、ヨサパテを生み、ヨサパテ、ヨラムを生み、ヨラム、ウジヤを生み、
And Asa was the father of Josaphat; and Josaphat was the father of Joram; and Joram was the father of Ozias;
9 ウジヤ、ヨタムを生み、ヨタム、アハズを生み、アハズ、ヒゼキヤを生み、
And Ozias was the father of Joatham; and Joatham was the father of Achaz; and Achaz was the father of Ezekias;
10 ヒゼキヤ、マナセを生み、マナセ、アモンを生み、アモン、ヨシヤを生み、
And Ezekias was the father of Manasses; and Manasses was the father of Amon; and Amon was the father of Josias;
11 バビロンに移さるる頃、ヨシヤ、エコニヤとその兄弟らとを生めり。
And Josias was the father of Jechonias and his brothers, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12 バビロンに移されて後、エコニヤ、サラテルを生み、サラテル、ゾロバベルを生み、
And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias was the father of Salathiel; and Salathiel was the father of Zorobabel;
13 ゾロバベル、アビウデを生み、アビウデ、エリヤキムを生み、エリヤキム、アゾルを生み、
And Zorobabel was the father of Abiud; and Abiud was the father of Eliakim; and Eliakim was the father of Azor;
14 アゾル、サドクを生み、サドク、アキムを生み、アキム、エリウデを生み、
And Azor was the father of Sadoc; and Sadoc was the father of Achim; and Achim was the father of Eliud;
15 エリウデ、エレアザルを生み、エレアザル、マタンを生み、マタン、ヤコブを生み、
And Eliud was the father of Eleazar; and Eleazar was the father of Matthan; and Matthan was the father of Jacob;
16 ヤコブ、マリヤの夫ヨセフを生めり。此のマリヤよりキリストと稱ふるイエス生れ給へり。
And Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 されば總て世をふる事、アブラハムよりダビデまで十四代、ダビデよりバビロンに移さるるまで十四代、バビロンに移されてよりキリストまで十四代なり。
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.
18 イエス・キリストの誕生は左のごとし。その母マリヤ、ヨセフと許嫁したるのみにて、未だ偕にならざりしに、聖 靈によりて孕り、その孕りたること顯れたり。
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 夫ヨセフは正しき人にして、之を公然にするを好まず、私に離縁せんと思ふ。
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privately.
20 かくて、これらの事を思ひ囘らしをるとき、視よ、主の使、夢に現れて言ふ『ダビデの子ヨセフよ、妻マリヤを納るる事を恐るな。その胎に宿る者は聖 靈によるなり。
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, you son of David, fear not to take to you Mary your wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 かれ子を生まん、汝その名をイエスと名づくべし。己が民をその罪より救ひ給ふ故なり』
And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 すべて此の事の起りしは、預言者によりて主の云ひ給ひし言の成就せん爲なり。曰く、
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 『視よ、處女みごもりて子を生まん。その名はインマヌエルと稱へられん』之を釋けば、神われらと偕に在すといふ意なり。
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 ヨセフ寐より起き、主の使の命ぜし如くして妻を納れたり。
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took to him his wife:
25 されど子の生るるまでは、相 知る事なかりき。かくてその子をイエスと名づけたり。
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
