マラキ書 1
1 これマラキに托てイスラエルに臨めるヱホバの言の重負なり
The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by the hand of Malachi.
2 ヱホバ曰たまふ我汝らを愛したり 然るに汝ら云ふ 汝いかに我儕を愛せしやと ヱホバいふエサウはヤコブの兄に非ずや されど我はヤコブを愛し
I have loved you, says the Lord, and you have said, “In what way have you loved us?” Was not Esau brother to Jacob, says the Lord? And have I not loved Jacob,
3 エサウを惡めり 且つわれ彼の山を荒し其嗣業を山犬にあたへたり
but held hatred for Esau? And I have set his mountains in solitude, and his inheritance with the serpents of the desert.
4 エドムは我儕ほろぼされたれども再び荒たる所を建んといふによりて萬軍のヱホバかく曰たまふ 彼等は建ん されど我これを倒さん 人は彼等を惡境とよび又ヱホバの恒に怒りたまふ人民と稱へん
But if Idumea will say, “We have been destroyed, but when we return, we will build up what has been destroyed,” thus says the Lord of hosts: They will build up, and I will destroy. And they will be called “The limits of impiety,” and, “The people with whom the Lord has been angry, even to eternity.”
5 汝らこれを目に見て云ん ヱホバはイスラエルの地に大なりと
And your eyes will see. And you will say, “May the Lord be magnified beyond the limits of Israel.”
6 子は其父を敬ひ僕はその主を敬ふ されば我もし父たらば我を敬ふこと安にあるや 我もし主たらば我をおそるること安にあるや なんぢら我が名を藐視る祭司よと萬軍のヱホバいひたまふ 然るに汝曹はいふ我儕何に汝の名を藐視りしやと
The son honors the father, and the servant his master. If, therefore, I am Father, where is my honor? And if I am Master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. And you have said, “In what way, have we despised your name?”
7 汝ら汚れたるパンをわが壇の上に獻げしかして言ふ我儕何に爾を汚せしやと 汝曹ヱホバの臺は卑しきなりと云しがゆゑなり
You offer polluted bread upon my altar, and you say, “In what way, have we polluted you?” In that you say, “The table of the Lord has been despised.”
8 汝ら盲目なる者を犠牲に獻ぐるは惡に非ずや 又跛足なるものと病者を獻ぐるは惡に非ずや 今これを汝の方伯に獻げよ されば彼なんぢを悦ぶや 汝を受納るや 萬軍のヱホバこれをいふ
If you offer the blind for sacrifice, is this not evil? And if you offer the lame and the sick, is this not evil? Offer it to your leader, if he will be pleased with it, or if he will accept your face, says the Lord of hosts.
9 請ふ汝ら神に我らをあはれみ給はんことをもとめよ これらは凡て汝らの手になれり 彼なんぢらを納んや 萬軍のヱホバこれを言ふ
And now, beseech the face of God, so that he may have mercy on you (for by your hand has this been done) if, in any way, he might accept your faces, says the Lord of hosts.
10 汝らがわが壇の上にいたづらに火をたくこと無らんために汝らの中一人扉を閉づる者あらまほし われ汝らを悦ばず 又なんぢらの手より獻物を受じと萬軍のヱホバいひ給ふ
Who is there among you that would close the doors and enflame my altar without pay? I have no favor in you, says the Lord of hosts. And I will not accept a gift from your hand.
11 日の出る處より沒る處までの列國の中に我名は大ならん 又何處にても香と潔き獻物を我名に獻げん そはわが名列國の中に大なるべければなりと萬軍のヱホバいひ給ふ
For, from the rising of the sun even to its setting, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place, a clean oblation is being sacrificed and offered to my name. For my name is great among the Gentiles, says the Lord of hosts.
12 しかるになんぢら之を褻したり そは爾曹はヱホバの臺は汚れたり また其果すなはちその食物は卑しと云ばなり
And you have polluted it, in that you say, “The table of the Lord has been contaminated; and that which is placed upon it is contemptible, compared with the fire that devours it.”
13 なんぢらは又如何に煩勞しきことにあらずやといひ且これを藐視たり 萬軍のヱホバこれをいふ 又なんぢらは奪ひし物跛足たる者病る者を携へ來れり 汝らかく獻物を携へ來ればわれ之を汝らの手より受べけんや ヱホバこれをいひ給へり
And you have said, “Behold our labor,” and you have exhaled it away, says the Lord of hosts. And you brought in by plunder the lame, and the sick, and brought it in as a gift. How can I receive this from your hand, says the Lord?
14 群の中に牡あるに誓を立てて疵あるものをヱホバに獻ぐる詐僞者は詛はるべし そは我は大なる王また我名は列國に畏れらるべきなればなり 萬軍のヱホバこれをいふ
Cursed is the deceitful, who holds in his flock a male, and, when making a vow, offers in sacrifice that which is feeble to the Lord. For I am a great King, says the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the Gentiles.
