士師記 19
1 其頃イスラエルに王なかりし時にあたりてエフライムの山の奧に一人のレビ人寄寓をりベテレヘムユダより一人の婦人をとりて妾となしたるに
And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
2 その妾彼に背きて姦淫を爲し去てベテレヘムユダなるその父の家にかへり其所に四月といふ日をおくれり
And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him to her father’s house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
3 是に於てその夫彼をなだめて携かへらんとてその僕と二頭の驢馬をしたがへ起てかれの後をしたひゆきければその父の家に之を導きいたりしに女の父これを見て之に遇ことを悦こべり
And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly to her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father’s house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.
4 而してその女の父なる外舅彼をひきとめたれば則ち三日これと共に居り皆食飮して其所に宿りしが
And his father in law, the damsel’s father, retained him; and he stayed with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.
5 四日におよびて朝早く起あがり彼たちて去んとしければ女の父その婿に言ふ少許の食物をもて汝の心を強くして然る後に去れよと
And it came to pass on the fourth day, when they arose early in the morning, that he rose up to depart: and the damsel’s father said to his son in law, Comfort your heart with a morsel of bread, and afterward go your way.
6 二人すなはち坐りて共に食飮しけるが女の父その人にいひけるは請ふ幸に今一夜を明し汝の心を樂ましめよと
And they sat down, and did eat and drink both of them together: for the damsel’s father had said to the man, Be content, I pray you, and tarry all night, and let your heart be merry.
7 其人起て去んとしけるに外舅これを強たれば遂に復其所に宿り
And when the man rose up to depart, his father in law urged him: therefore he lodged there again.
8 五日におよびて朝はやく起いでて去んとしたるに女の父これに言けるは請ふ汝の心を強くせよと是をもて日の昃るまでとどまりて共に食をなしけるが
And he arose early in the morning on the fifth day to depart; and the damsel’s father said, Comfort your heart, I pray you. And they tarried until afternoon, and they did eat both of them.
9 其人つひに妾および僕とともに去んとて起あがりければ女の父彼に言ふ視よ今は日暮なんとす請ふ今一夜を明されよ視よ日昃たり汝此にやどりて汝の心をたのしませ明日蚤く起て出たち汝の家にいたれよと
And when the man rose up to depart, he, and his concubine, and his servant, his father in law, the damsel’s father, said to him, Behold, now the day draws toward evening, I pray you tarry all night: behold, the day grows to an end, lodge here, that your heart may be merry; and to morrow get you early on your way, that you may go home.
10 然るに其人止宿ることを肯はずして起て去りヱブスの對面に至れり是はエルサレムなり鞍おける二の驢馬彼とともにあり妾も彼とともなりき
But the man would not tarry that night, but he rose up and departed, and came over against Jebus, which is Jerusalem; and there were with him two asses saddled, his concubine also was with him.
11 彼らヱブスの近傍にをる時日はや沒んとしければ僕その主人にいひけるは請ふ來れ我等身をめぐらしてヱブス人の此邑にいりて其所に宿らんと
And when they were by Jebus, the day was far spent; and the servant said to his master, Come, I pray you, and let us turn in into this city of the Jebusites, and lodge in it.
12 その主人これに言けるは我等は彼所に身をめぐらしてイスラエルの子孫の邑ならざる外國の人の邑にいるべからずギベアに進みゆかんと
And his master said to him, We will not turn aside here into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.
13 すなはちその僕にいひけるは來れ我らギベアかラマか是等の處の一に就て止宿んと
And he said to his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.
14 皆すすみ往きけるがベニヤミンのギベアの近邊にて日暮たれば
And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down on them when they were by Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin.
15 ギベアにゆきて宿らんとて其所に身をめぐらし入て邑の衢に坐しけるに誰も彼を家に接て宿らしむる者なかりき
And they turned aside thither, to go in and to lodge in Gibeah: and when he went in, he sat him down in a street of the city: for there was no man that took them into his house to lodging.
16 時に一人の老人日暮に田野の働作をやめて歸りきたる此人はエフライム山の者にしてギベアに寄寓れるなり但し此處の人はベニヤミン人なり
And, behold, there came an old man from his work out of the field at even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.
17 彼目をあげて旅人の邑の衢にをるを見たり老人すなはちいひけるは汝は何所にゆくなるや何所より來れるやと
And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said, Where go you? and from where come you?
18 その人これにいひけるは我らはベテレヘムユダよりエフライム山の奧におもむく者なり我は彼所の者にて旣にベテレヘムユダにゆき今ヱホバの室に詣らんとするなるが誰もわれを家に接ものあらず
And he said to him, We are passing from Bethlehemjudah toward the side of mount Ephraim; from there am I: and I went to Bethlehemjudah, but I am now going to the house of the LORD; and there is no man that receives me to house.
19 然ど驢馬の藁も飼蒭もあり又我と汝の婢および僕等とともなる少者の用ふべき食物も酒も在て何も事缺るところなし
Yet there is both straw and provender for our asses; and there is bread and wine also for me, and for your handmaid, and for the young man which is with your servants: there is no want of any thing.
20 老人いひけるは願くは汝安かれ汝が需むる者は我そなへん唯衢に宿るなかれと
And the old man said, Peace be with you; howsoever let all your wants lie on me; only lodge not in the street.
21 かれをその家に携れ驢馬に飼ふ彼らすなはち足をあらひて食飮せしが
So he brought him into his house, and gave provender to the asses: and they washed their feet, and did eat and drink.
22 その心を樂ませをる時にあたりて邑の人々の邪なる者その家をとりかこみ戸を打たたきて家の主人なる老人に言ふ汝の家にきたれる人をひき出せ我らこれを犯さんと
Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into your house, that we may know him.
23 是に於て家の主人なる人かれらの所にいでゆきてこれに言けるは否わが兄弟よ惡をなす勿れ此人すでにわが家にいりたればこの愚なる事をなすなかれ
And the man, the master of the house, went out to them, and said to them, No, my brothers, no, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man is come into my house, do not this folly.
24 我が處女なる女と此人の妾とあるにより我これを今つれいだすべければ汝らかれらを辱しめ汝等の好むところをこれに爲せ唯この人には斯る愚なる事を爲すなかれと
Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble you them, and do with them what seems good to you: but to this man do not so vile a thing.
25 然るにその人々これを聽いれざるにより其人その妾をとりてこれを彼らの所にいだしやりければすなはちこれを犯して朝にいたるまで終夜これを辱しめ日のいづる頃にいたりて釋てり
But the men would not listen to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth to them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.
26 是をもて婦黎明にきたりてその夫のをる彼人の家の門に仆れ夜のあくるまで其處に臥をる
Then came the woman in the dawning of the day, and fell down at the door of the man’s house where her lord was, till it was light.
27 その主朝におよびておきいで家の戸をひらきて出去んとせしがその妾の婦の家の門にたふれをりて手を閾の上におくを見ければ
And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were on the threshold.
28 これにむかひ起よ我ら出往んと言たれども何の答もあらざりき是によりてその人これを驢馬にのせたちて己の所におもむきしが
And he said to her, Up, and let us be going. But none answered. Then the man took her up on an ass, and the man rose up, and got him to his place.
29 家にいたるにおよびて刀をとり其妾を執へて骨ぐるみこれを十二分にたちわりて之をイスラエルの四方の境におくりければ
And when he was come into his house, he took a knife, and laid hold on his concubine, and divided her, together with her bones, into twelve pieces, and sent her into all the coasts of Israel.
30 之を見る者皆いふイスラエルの子孫がエジプトの地より出のぼりし日より今日にいたるまで斯のごとき事は行はれしことなく見えしことなし思をめぐらし相議りて言ふことをせよ
And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt to this day: consider of it, take advice, and speak your minds.
