ヨシュア記 11
1 ハゾルの王ヤビン之を聞およびマドンの王ヨバブ、シムロンの王アクサフの王
And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard [those things], that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king Achshaph,
2 および北の地山地キンネロテの南のアラバ平地西の方なるドルの高處などに居る王等
And to the kings that [were] on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Cinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
3 すなはち東西のカナン人アモリ人ヘテ人ペリジ人山地のエブス人ミヅバの地なるヘルモンの麓のヒビ人などに人を遣はせり
[And to] the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and [to] the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and [to] the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
4 爰に彼らその諸軍勢を率ゐて出きたれり其民の衆多ことは濱の砂の多きがごとくにして馬と車もまた甚だ多かりき
And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, many people, even as the sand that [is] upon the sea-shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very numerous.
5 これらの王たち皆あひ會して進みきたり共にメロムの水の邊に陣をとりてイスラエルと戰はんとす
And when all these kings were met together, they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
6 時にヱホバ、ヨシユアに言たまひけるは彼らの故によりて懼るる勿れ明日の今頃われ彼らをイスラエルの前に付して盡く殺さしめん汝かれらの馬の足の筋を截り火をもて彼らの車を焚べしと
And the LORD said to Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to-morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
7 ヨシユアすなはち一切の軍人を率ゐて俄然にメロムの水の邊に押寄て之を襲ひけるに
So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and they fell upon them.
8 ヱホバこれをイスラエルの手に付したまひしかば則ち之を撃やぶりて大シドンおよびミスレポテマイムまで之を追ゆき東の方にては又ミヅバの谷までこれを追ゆき遂に一人をも遺さず撃とれり
And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them to great Zidon, and to Misrephoth-maim, and to the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left to them none remaining.
9 ヨシユアすなはちヱホバの己に命じたまひしことにしたがひて彼らに馬の足の筋を截り火をもてその車を焚り
And Joshua did to them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.
10 その時ヨシユア歸りきたりてハゾルを取り刃をもてその王を撃り在昔ハゾルは是らの諸國の盟主たりき
And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote its king with the sword: for Hazor before-time was the head of all those kingdoms.
11 即ち刃をもてその中なる一切の人を撃てことごとく之を滅ぼし氣息する者は一人だに遺さざりき又火をもてハゾルを焚り
And they smote all the souls that [were] in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying [them]: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
12 ヨシユアこれらの王の一切の邑々およびその諸王を取り刃をもてこれを撃て盡く滅ぼせり、ヱホバの僕モーセの命じたるがごとし
And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, Joshua took, and smote them with the edge of the sword, [and] he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
13 但しその岡の上にたちたる邑々はイスラエルこれを焚ず唯ハゾルのみをヨシユア焚り
But [as for] the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; [that] did Joshua burn.
14 是らの邑の諸の貨財及び家畜はイスラエルの人々奪ひて自ら之を取り人はみな刃をもて撃て滅ぼし盡し氣息する者は一人だに遺さざりき
And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey to themselves: but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
15 ヱホバその僕モーセに命じたまひし所をモーセまたヨシユアに命じ置たりしがヨシユアその如くに行へり凡てヱホバのモーセに命じたまひし所はヨシユア一だに爲で置し事なし
As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua: he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
16 ヨシユア斯その全地すなはち山地南の全地ゴセンの全地平地アラバ、イスラエルの山地およびその平地を取り
So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
17 セイルに上りゆくでハラク山よりヘルモン山の麓なるレバノン谷のバアルガデまでを獲その王等をことごとく執へて之を撃て死しめたり
[Even] from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even to Baal-gad, in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
18 ヨシユア此すべての王等と戰爭をなすこと日ひさし
Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
19 ギベオンの民ヒビ人を除くの外はイスラエルの子孫と好をなしし邑なかりき皆戰爭をなしてこれを攻とりしなり
There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all [other] they took in battle.
20 そもそも彼らが心を剛愎にしてイスラエルに攻よせしはヱホバの然らしめたまひし者なり彼らは詛はれし者となり憐憫を乞ふこととせず滅ぼされんがためなりき是全くヱホバのモーセに命じたまひしが如し
For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, [and] that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
21 その時ヨシユアまた往て山地ヘブロン、デビル、アナブ、ユダの一切の山地イスラエルの一切の山地などよりしてアナク人を絶ち而してヨシユア彼らの邑々をも與に滅ぼせり
And at that time came Joshua and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
22 然からにイスラエルの子孫の地の内にはアナク人一人も遺りをらず只ガザ、ガテ、アシドドに少く遺りをる而已
There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
23 ヨシユアかく此地を盡く取り全くヱホバのモーセに告たまひし如し而してヨシユア、イスラエルの支派の區別にしたがひ之を與へて產業となさしめたり遂に此地に戰爭やみぬ
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said to Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
