エレミヤ書 7
1 ヱホバよりヱレミヤにのぞめる言云ふ
The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,
2 汝ヱホバの室の門にたち其處にてこの言を宣て言へヱホバを拜まんとてこの門にいりしユダのすべての人よヱホバの言をきけ
Stand in the gate of Jehovah's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of Jehovah, all ye of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship Jehovah.
3 萬軍のヱホバ、イスラエルの神かくいひ給ふ汝らの途と汝らの行を改めよさらばわれ汝等をこの地に住しめん
Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
4 汝ら是はヱホバの殿なりヱホバの殿なりヱホバの殿なりと云ふ僞の言をたのむ勿れ
Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, are these.
5 汝らもし全くその途と行を改め人と人との間を正しく鞫き
For if ye thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if ye thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor,
6 異邦人と孤兒と寡を虐げず無辜者の血をこの處に流さず他の神に從ひて害をまねかずば
if ye do not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your own hurt,
7 我なんぢらを我汝等の先祖にあたへしこの地に永遠より永遠にいたるまで住しむべし
then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers from of old even for evermore.
8 みよ汝らは益なき僞の言を賴む
Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
9 汝等は盜み殺し姦淫し妄りて誓ひバアルに香を焚き汝らがしらざる他の神にしたがふなれど
Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that ye have not known,
10 我名をもて稱へらるるこの室にきたりて我前にたち我らはこれらの憎むべきことを行ふとも救はるるなりといふは何にぞや
and then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered, that ye may do all these abominations?
11 わが名をもて稱へらるる此室は汝らの目には盜賊の巢と見ゆるや我も之をみたりとヱホバいひたまふ
Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, says Jehovah.
12 汝等わが初シロに於て我名を置し處にゆき我がイスラエルの民の惡のために其處になせしところのことをみよ
But go ye now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
13 ヱホバいひたまふ今汝ら此等のすべての事をなす又われ汝らに語り頻にかたりたれども聽かず汝らを呼びたれども答へざりき
And now, because ye have done all these works, says Jehovah. And I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not, and I called you, but ye answered not,
14 この故に我シロになせしごとく我名をもて稱へらるる此室になさんすなはち汝等が賴むところ我汝らと汝らの先祖にあたへし此處になすべし
therefore I will do to the house, which is called by my name, in which ye trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.
15 またわれ汝等のすべての兄弟すなはちエフライムのすべての裔を棄てしごとく我前より汝らをも棄つべし
And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
16 故に汝この民のために祈る勿れ彼らの爲に歎くなかれ求むるなかれ又我にとりなしをなす勿れわれ汝にきかじ
Therefore pray thou not for this people, nor lift up cry nor prayer for them. Neither make intercession to me, for I will not hear thee.
17 汝かれらがユダの邑とヱルサレムの街になすところを見ざるか
Do thou not see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
18 諸子は薪を拾め父は火を燃き婦は麺を搏ねパンをつくりて之を天后にそなふ又かれら他の神の前に酒をそそぎて我を怒らす
The sons gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
19 ヱホバいひたまふ彼ら我を怒らするか是れおのが面を辱むるにあらずや
Do they provoke me to anger? says Jehovah, and not themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?
20 是故に主ヱホバかくいひたまふ視よわが震怒とわが憤怒はこの處と人と獸と野の樹および地の果にそそがん且燃て滅ざるべし
Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, my anger and my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground. And it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
21 萬軍のヱホバ、イスラエルの神かくいひたまふ汝らの犠牲に燔祭の物をあはせて肉をくらへ
Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat ye flesh.
22 そはわれ汝等の先祖をエジプトより導きいだせし日に燔祭と犠牲とに就てかたりしことなく又命ぜしことなし
For I spoke not to your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.
23 惟われこの事を彼等に命じ汝ら我聲を聽ばわれ汝らの神となり汝ら我民とならん且わが汝らに命ぜしすべての道を行みて福祉をうべしといへり
But this thing I commanded them, saying, Hearken to my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people. And walk ye in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.
24 されど彼らはきかず其耳を傾けずおのれの惡き心の謀と剛愎なるとにしたがひて行みまた後を我にむけて其面を向けざりき
But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in their own counsels, in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
25 汝らの先祖がエジプトの地をいでし日より今日にいたるまでわれ我僕なる預言者を汝らにつかはし日々晨より之をつかはせり
Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.
26 されど彼らは我にきかず耳を傾けずして其項を強くしその列祖よりも愈りて惡をなすなり
Yet they hearkened not to me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff. They did worse than their fathers.
27 汝彼らに此等のすべてのことばを語るとも汝にきかずかれらを呼ぶとも汝にこたへざるべし
And thou shall speak all these words to them, but they will not hearken to thee. Thou shall also call to them, but they will not answer thee.
28 汝かく彼らに語れこれは其神ヱホバの聲を聽ずその訓を受ざる民なり眞實はうせてその口に絕たり
And thou shall say to them, This is the nation that has not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah their God, nor received instruction. Truth has perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
29 (シオンの女よ)汝の髮を剃りてこれを棄て山の上に哀哭の聲をあげよヱホバその怒るところの世の人をすててこれを離れたまへばなり
Cut off thy hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights. For Jehovah has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
30 ヱホバいひたまふユダの民は我前に惡を行へり即ちその憎むべき者を我名をもて稱へらるる室に置てこれを汚せり
For the sons of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight, says Jehovah. They have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.
31 又ベンヒンノムの谷に於てトペテの崇邱を築きてその子女を火に焚かんとせり我これを命ぜずまた斯ることを思はざりし
And they have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into my mind.
32 ヱホバいひたまふ然ば視よ此處をトペテまたはベンヒンノムの谷と稱へずして殺戮の谷と稱ふる日きたらん其は葬るべき地所なきまでにトペテに葬るべければなり
Therefore, behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter. For they shall bury in Topheth, till there be no place to bury.
33 この民の屍は天空の鳥と地の獸の食物とならんこれを逐ふものなかるべし
And the dead bodies of this people shall be food for the birds of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth, and none shall frighten them away.
34 その時われユダの邑とヱルサレムの街に欣喜の聲 歡樂の聲 新婿の聲 新婦の聲なからしむべしこの地荒蕪ればなり
Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, for the land shall become a waste.
