エレミヤ書 14
1 乾旱の事につきてヱレミヤにのぞみしヱホバの言は左のごとし
The word of Jehovah that came to Jeremiah concerning the drought.
2 ユダは悲むその門は傾き地にたふれて哭くヱルサレムの咷は上る
"Judah mourns, and its gates languish, they sit in black on the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
3 その侯伯等は僕をつかはして水を汲しむ彼ら井にいたれども水を見ず空き器をもちて歸り恥かつ憂へてその首をおほふ
Their nobles send their little ones to the waters: they come to the cisterns, and find no water; they return with their vessels empty; they are disappointed and confounded, and cover their heads.
4 地に雨ふらずして土燥裂たるにより農夫は恥て首を掩ふ
Because of the ground which is cracked, because no rain has been in the land, the plowmen are disappointed, they cover their heads.
5 また野にある麀は子をうみて之を棄つ草なければなり
Yes, the hind also in the field calves, and forsakes her young, because there is no grass.
6 野の驢馬は童山のうへにたちて山犬のごとく喘ぎ草なきによりて目眩む
The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage."
7 ヱホバよ我儕の罪われらを訟へて證をなすとも願くは汝の名の爲に事をなし給へ我儕の違背はおほいなり我儕汝に罪を犯したり
"Though our iniquities testify against us, work for your name's sake, Jehovah; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.
8 イスラエルの企望なる者その艱るときに救ひたまふ者よ汝いかなれば此地に於て他邦人のごとくし一夜寄宿の旅客のごとくしたまふや
Hope of Israel, its Savior in the time of trouble, why should you be as a foreigner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night?
9 汝いかなれば呆てをる人のごとくし救をなすこと能はざる勇士のごとくしたまふやヱホバよ汝は我らの間にいます我儕は汝の名をもて稱へらるる者なり我らを棄たまふ勿れ
Why should you be like a scared man, as a mighty man who can't save? Yet you, Jehovah, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; do not leave us."
10 ヱホバこの民にかくいひたまへり彼らかく好んでさまよひ其足を禁めざればヱホバ彼らを悦ばずいまその愆をおぼえ其罪を罰すべし
Thus says Jehovah to this people, "Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Jehovah does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity, and visit their sins."
11 ヱホバまた我にいひたまひけるは汝この民のために恩をいのる勿れ
Jehovah said to me, "Do not pray for this people for their good.
12 彼ら斷食するとも我その呼龥をきかず燔祭と素祭を献るとも我これをうけず却てわれ劍と饑饉と疫病をもて彼らを滅すべし
When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and meal offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence."
13 われいひけるは嗚呼主ヱホバよみよ預言者たちはこの民にむかひ汝ら劍を見ざるべし饑饉は汝らにきたらじわれ此處に鞏固なる平安を汝らにあたへんといへり
Then I said, "Ah, Jehovah. Look, the prophets tell them, 'You shall not see the sword, neither shall you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.'"
14 ヱホバ我にいひたまひけるは預言者等は我名をもて詭を預言せりわれ之を遣さず之に命ぜずまた之にいはず彼らは虛誕の默示と卜筮と虛きことと己の心の詐を汝らに預言せり
Then Jehovah said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I did not send them, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke I to them: they prophesy to you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their own heart.
15 この故にかの吾が遣さざるに我名をもて預言して劍と饑饉はこの地にきたらじといへる預言者等につきてヱホバかくいふこの預言者等は劍と饑饉に滅さるべし
Therefore thus says Jehovah concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name, and I did not send them, yet they say, 'Sword and famine shall not be in this land:' 'By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.'
16 また彼等の預言をうけし民は饑饉と劍によりてヱルサレムの街に擲棄られんこれを葬る者なかるべし彼等とその妻および其子その女みな然りそはわれ彼らの惡をその上に斟げばなり
The people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them—them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness on them."
17 汝この言を彼らに語るべしわが目は夜も晝もたえず涙を流さんそは我民の童女大なる滅と重き傷によりて亡さるればなり
"You shall say this word to them, 'Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.
18 われ出て畑にゆくに劍に死る者あり我邑にいるに饑饉に艱むものあり預言者も祭司もみなその地にさまよひて知ところなし
If I go forth into the field, then, look, the slain with the sword. And if I enter into the city, then, look, those who are sick with famine. For both the prophet and the priest go about in the land, and have no knowledge.'"
19 汝はユダを悉くすてたまふや汝の心はシオンをきらふや汝いかなれば我儕を撃て愈しめざるか我ら平安を望めども善ことあらず又醫さるる時を望むに却て驚懼あり
"Have you utterly rejected Judah? Has your soul loathed Zion? Why have you struck us, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and look, dismay.
20 ヱホバよ我らはおのれの惡と先祖の愆を知るわれら汝に罪を犯したり
We acknowledge, Jehovah, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers; for we have sinned against you.
21 汝の名のために我らを棄たまふ勿れ汝の榮の位を辱めたまふ勿れ汝のわれらに立し契約をおぼえて毀りたまふなかれ
Do not abhor us, for your name's sake; do not disgrace the throne of your glory: remember, do not break your covenant with us.
22 異邦の虛き物の中に雨を降せうるものあるや天みづから白雨をくだすをえんや我らの神ヱホバ汝これを爲したまふにあらずや我ら汝を望むそは汝すべて此等を悉く作りたまひたればなり
Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the sky give showers? Aren't you he, Jehovah our God? Therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things."
