ガラテヤ人への手紙 5
1 キリストは自由を得させん爲に我らを釋き放ちたまへり。されば堅く立ちて再び奴隷の軛に繋がるな。
Stand firm therefore in the freedom with which Christ has made us free, and do not be burdened again with a yoke of slavery.
2 視よ、我パウロ汝らに言ふ、もし割禮を受けば、キリストは汝らに益なし。
Listen! I, Paul, say to you that if you get circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.
3 又さらに凡て割禮を受くる人に證す、かれは律法の全體を行ふべき負債あり。
Further, I testify again to every man who gets circumcised that he is obligated to keep the whole law.
4 律法に由りて義とせられんと思ふ汝らは、キリストより離れたり、恩惠より墮ちたり。
You who are ‘being justified’ by law have been alienated from the Christ; you have fallen away from the grace.
5 我らは御靈により、信仰によりて希望をいだき、義とせらるることを待てるなり。
For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 キリスト・イエスに在りては、割禮を受くるも割禮を受けぬも益なく、ただ愛に由りてはたらく信仰のみ益あり。
Because in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
7 なんぢら前には善く走りたるに、誰が汝らの眞理に從ふを阻みしか。
You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth?
8 かかる勸は汝らを召したまふ者より出づるにあらず。
This persuasion is not from Him who calls you.
9 少しのパン種は粉の團塊をみな膨れしむ。
A little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough.
10 われ汝らに就きては、その聊かも異念を懷かぬことを主によりて信ず。されど汝らを擾す者は、誰にもあれ審判を受けん。
I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will not think differently; but he who troubles you will bear the penalty, whoever he may be.
11 兄弟よ、我もし今も割禮を宣傳へば、何ぞなほ迫害せられんや。もし然せば十字架の顛躓も止みしならん。
But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that event the offense of the cross would have been removed.
12 願はくは汝らを亂す者どもの自己を不具にせんことを。
I do wish that those who are upsetting you would just remove themselves!
13 兄弟よ、汝らの召されたるは自由を與へられん爲なり。ただ其の自由を肉に從ふ機會となさず、反つて愛をもて互に事へよ。
Now you, brothers, have been called to freedom; only do not use that freedom as an opening for the flesh, but slave for one another through love.
14 それ律法の全體は『おのれの如くなんぢの隣を愛すべし』との一言にて全うせらるるなり。
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, namely: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
15 心せよ、若し互に咬み食はば相 共に亡されん。
But if you bite and tear at each other, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
16 我いふ、御靈によりて歩め、さらば肉の慾を遂げざるべし。
I say then: walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 肉の望むところは御靈にさからひ、御靈の望むところは肉にさからひて互に相 戻ればなり。これ汝らの欲する所をなし得ざらしめん爲なり。
Because the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh; they oppose each other; it follows that you may not do the things that you wish.
18 汝 等もし御靈に導かれなば、律法の下にあらじ。
However, if you are led by the Spirit you are not under law.
19 それ肉の行爲はあらはなり。即ち淫行・汚穢・好色・
Now the works of the flesh are obvious, namely: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness,
20 偶像 崇拜・呪術・怨恨・紛爭・嫉妬・憤恚・徒黨・分離・異端・
idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, fits of anger, selfish ambition, dissentions, factions,
21 猜忌・醉酒・宴樂などの如し。我すでに警めたるごとく、今また警む。斯かることを行ふ者は神の國を嗣ぐことなし。
envyings, murders, drinking bouts, orgies, and the like; about which I am warning you beforehand, as, in fact, I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22 されど御靈の果は愛・喜悦・平和・寛容・仁慈・善良・忠信・
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 柔和・節制なり。斯かるものを禁ずる律法はあらず。
gentleness, self-control—against such things there is no law.
24 キリスト・イエスに屬する者は、肉とともに其の情と慾とを十字架につけたり。
Further, those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 もし我ら御靈に由りて生きなば、御靈に由りて歩むべし。
Since we live by the Spirit, let us also conform to the Spirit.
26 互に挑み互に妬みて、虚しき譽を求むることを爲な。
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
