エゼキエル書 15

1 ヱホバの言われに臨みて言ふ

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

2 人の子よ葡萄の樹森の中にあるところの葡萄の枝なんぞ他の樹に勝るところあらんや

'Son of man, what is the vine-tree more than any tree, the vine branch which grew up among the trees of the forest?

3 其木物をつくるに用ふべけんや又人これを用ひて器をかくる木釘を造らんや

Shall wood be taken thereof to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

4 視よ是は火に投いれられて燃ゆ火もしその兩の端を燒くあり又その中間焦たらば爭でか物をつくるに勝べけんや

Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire hath devoured both the ends of it, and the midst of it is singed; is it profitable for any work?

5 是はその全かる時すらも物を造るに用ふべからざれば况て火のこれを焚焦したる時には爭で物をつくるに用ふべけんや

Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work; how much less, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is singed, shall it yet be meet for any work?

6 是故に主ヱホバかく言たまふ我森の樹の中なる葡萄の樹を火になげいれて焚く如くにヱルサレムの民をも然するなり

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: As the vine-tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so do I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

7 我面をかれらに向けて攻む彼らは火の中より出たれども火なほこれを燒つくすべし我面をかれらにむけて攻むる時に汝らは我のヱホバなるをしらん

And I will set My face against them; out of the fire are they come forth, and the fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set My face against them.

8 彼等悖逆る事をおこなひしに由て我かの地を荒地となすべし主ヱホバこれを言ふ

And I will make the land desolate, because they have acted treacherously, saith the Lord GOD.'
