エステル 記 7

1 王またハマンとともに后エステルと酒宴せんとて來れり

So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen.

2 この第二の酒宴の日に王またエステルに言けるは后エステルよなんぢのもとめは何なるや かならず許さるべし 汝のねがひは何なるや國の半分にいたるとも成就らるべし

And the king said again to Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? And it shall be granted thee. And what is thy request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

3 后エステルこたへて言けるは王よ我もし王の御目の前に恩を得王もし善と見たまはばわがもとめにしたがりこわが生命をわれに賜へ またわが願にしたがひてわが民を我に賜へ

Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favor in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.

4 我とわが民は賣れて滅ぼされ殺され絶されんとす 我らもし奴婢に賣れたるならんには我默してはべらん 敵人は王の損害を償なふ事能はざるなり

For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I would have held my peace, although the adversary could not have compensated for the king's damage.

5 アハシユエロス王后エステルにこたへて言けるは之をなさんと心にたくめる者は誰また何處にをるや

Then king Ahasuerus spoke and said to Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, who dares presume in his heart to do so?

6 エステルいひけるはその敵その仇人は即ちこの惡きハマンなりと 是によりてハマンは王と后の前にありて懼れたり

And Esther said, An adversary and an enemy, even this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

7 王怒り酒宴の席をたちて宮殿の園に往きければハマンたちあがりて后エステルに生命を乞り 其はかれ王のおのれに禍災をなさんと決めしを見たればなり

And the king arose in his wrath from the banquet of wine and went into the palace garden. And Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen, for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.

8 王宮殿の園より歸りて酒宴の場にいたりしにエステルのをる牀榻の上にハマン俯伏ゐたれば王いひけるは彼はまた家の内にてわが前に后を辱しめんとするかと此ことば王の口より出るや人々ハマンの面をおほへり

Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine, and Haman was fallen upon the couch on which Esther was. Then the king said, Will he even force the queen before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.

9 時に王の前にある一人の侍從ハルボナいひけるは王の爲に善き事を言たりしかのモルデカイを懸んとてハマンが作りたる五十キユビトの木ハマンの家に立をるなりと王いひけるは彼をその上に懸よ

Then Harbonah, one of the chamberlains who were before the king said, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman has made for Mordecai, who spoke good for the king, stands in the house of Haman. And the king said, Hang him on it.

10 人々ハマンを其モルデカイをかけんとて設けし木の上に懸たり 王の震怒つひに解く

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king's wrath was pacified.
