エペソ人への手紙 3
1 この故に汝ら異邦人のためにキリスト・イエスの囚人となれる我パウロ――
For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles, bow my knees in prayer.
2 汝 等のために我に賜ひたる神の恩惠の經綸は汝ら聞きしならん、
Surely you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace that was given to me for you,
3 即ち我まへに簡單に書きおくりし如く、この奧義は默示にて我に示されたり。
how God made the mystery known to me by revelation, just as I have written above in a few words.
4 汝 等これを讀みてキリストの奧義にかかはる我が悟を知ることを得べし。
When you read what I have written, you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
5 この奧義は、いま御靈によりて聖 使徒と聖 預言者とに顯されし如くに、前代には人の子らに示されざりき。
which in previous generations was not made known to the sons of men as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to his holy apostles and prophets.
6 即ち異邦人が福音によりキリスト・イエスに在りて共に世嗣となり、共に一體となり、共に約束に與る者となる事なり。
This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of God's promise in Christ through the gospel.
7 我はその福音の役者とせらる。これ神の能力の活動に隨ひて我に賜ふ惠の賜物によるなり。
I became a servant of this gospel according to the gift of God's grace that was given to me by the working of his power.
8 我は凡ての聖徒のうちの最 小き者よりも小き者なるに、キリストの測るべからざる富を異邦人に傳へ、
This grace was given to me, the very least of all the saints, to preach among the Gentiles the good news of the boundless riches of Christ,
and to bring to light for everyone the plan of the mystery that has been hidden for ages in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ. (aiōn g165)
10 いま教會によりて神の豐なる知慧を、天の處にある政治と權威とに知らしめん爲なり。
The purpose of bringing this to light is that, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly realms,
according to the eternal purpose that God has carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōn g165)
12 我らは彼に在りて彼を信ずる信仰により、臆せず疑はずして神に近づくことを得るなり。
Because of Christ and our faith in him, we have boldness and confident access to God.
13 されば汝らに請ふ、わが汝 等のために受くる患難に就きて落膽すな、是なんぢらの譽なり。
Therefore I ask you not to lose heart at my tribulations on your behalf, which will bring you glory.
14 この故に我は天と地とに在る諸族の名の起るところの父に跪づきて願ふ。
For this reason I bow my knees in prayer before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 この故に我は天と地とに在る諸族の名の起るところの父に跪づきて願ふ。
from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named.
16 父その榮光の富にしたがひて、御靈により力をもて汝らの内なる人を強くし、
I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he would grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
17 信仰によりてキリストを汝らの心に住はせ、汝らをして愛に根ざし、愛を基とし、
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith,
18 凡ての聖徒とともにキリストの愛の廣さ・長さ・高さ・深さの如何ばかりなるかを悟り、
as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may be able to fully comprehend, together with all the saints, how wide and long and deep and high
19 その測り知るべからざる愛を知ることを得しめ、凡て神に滿てる者を汝らに滿しめ給はん事を。
is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 願はくは我らの中にはたらく能力に隨ひて、我らの凡て求むる所、すべて思ふ所よりも甚く勝る事をなし得る者に、
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine, according to the power at work within us—
