申命記 7

1 汝の神ヱホバ汝が往て獲べきところの地に汝を導きいり多の國々の民ヘテ人ギルガシ人アモリ人カナン人ペリジ人ヒビ人ヱブス人など汝よりも數多くして力ある七の民を汝の前より逐はらひたまはん時

When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

2 すなはち汝の神ヱホバかれらを汝に付して汝にこれを撃せたまはん時は汝かれらをことごとく滅すべし彼らと何の契約をもなすべからず彼らを憫むべからず

and when the LORD thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

3 また彼らと婚姻をなすべからず汝の女子を彼の男子に與ふべからず彼の女子を汝の男子に娶るべからず

neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

4 其は彼ら汝の男子を惑はして我を離れしめ之をして他の神々に事へしむるありてヱホバこれがために汝らにむかひて怒を發し俄然に汝を滅したまふにいたるべければなり

For he will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and he will destroy thee quickly.

5 汝らは反て斯かれらに行ふべし即ちかれらの壇を毀ちその偶像を打擢きそのアシラ像を斫たふし火をもてその雕像を焚べし

But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire.

6 其は汝は汝の神ヱホバの聖民なればなり汝の神ヱホバは地の面の諸の民の中より汝を擇びて己の寶の民となしたまへり

For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

7 ヱホバの汝らを愛し汝らを擇びたまひしは汝らが萬の民よりも數多かりしに因にあらず汝らは萬の民の中にて最も小き者なればなり

The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all peoples:

8 但ヱホバ汝らを愛するに因りまた汝らの先祖等に誓し誓を保たんとするに因てヱホバ強き手をもて汝らを導きいだし汝らを其奴隸たりし家よりエジプトの王パロの手より贖ひいだしたまへるなり

but because the LORD loveth you, and because he would keep the oath which he sware unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9 汝知べし汝の神ヱホバは神にましまし眞實の神にましまして之を愛しその誡命を守る者には契約を保ち恩惠をほどこして千代にいたり

Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God; the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

10 また之を惡む者には覿面にその報をなしてこれを滅ぼしたまふヱホバは己を惡む者には緩ならず覿面にこれに報いたまふなり

and repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

11 然ば汝わが今日汝に命ずるところの誡命と法度と律法とを守りてこれを行ふべし

Thou shalt therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.

12 汝らもし是らの律法を聽きこれを守り行はば汝の神ヱホバ汝の先祖等に誓ひし契約を保ちて汝に恩惠をほどこしたまはん

And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep with thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

13 即ち汝を愛し汝を惠み汝の數を増したまひその昔なんぢに與へんと汝らの先祖等に誓たりし地において汝の兒女をめぐみ汝の地の產物穀物酒油等を殖し汝の牛の產汝の羊の產を増たまふべし

and he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy ground, thy corn and thy wine and thine oil, the increase of thy kine and the young of thy flock, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

14 汝は惠まるること萬の民に愈らん汝らの中および汝らの家畜の中には男も女も子なき者は無るべし

Thou shalt be blessed above all peoples: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

15 ヱホバまた諸の疾病を汝の身より除きたまひ汝らが知る彼のエジプトの惡き病を汝の身に臨ましめず但汝を惡む者に之を臨ませたまふべし

And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness; and he will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

16 汝は汝の神ヱホバの汝に付したまはんところの民をことごとく滅しつくすべし彼らを憫み見べからずまた彼らの神に事ふべからずその事汝の罟となればなり

And thou shalt consume all the peoples which the LORD thy God shall deliver unto thee; thine eye shall not pity them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.

17 汝是らの民は我よりも衆ければ我いかでか之を逐はらふことを得んと心に謂ふか

If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?

18 汝かれらを懼るるなかれ汝の神ヱホバがパロとエジプトに爲たまひしところの事を善く憶えよ

thou shalt not be afraid of them: thou shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

19 即ち汝が眼に見たる大なる試煉と徴證と奇蹟と強き手と伸たる腕とを憶えよ汝の神ヱホバこれをもて汝を導き出したまへり是のごとく汝の神ヱホバまた汝が懼るる一切の民に爲たまふべし

the great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the peoples of whom thou art afraid.

20 即ち汝の神ヱホバ黄蜂を彼らの中に遣りて終に彼らの遺れる者と汝の面を避て匿れたる者とを滅したまはん

Moreover the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves, perish from before thee.

21 汝かれらを懼るる勿れ其は汝の神ヱホバ能力ある畏るべき神汝らの中にいませばなり

Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is in the midst of thee, a great God and a terrible.

22 汝の神ヱホバ是等の國人を漸々に汝の前より逐はらひたまはん汝は急速に彼らを滅しつくす可らず恐くは野の獣殖て汝に逼らん

And the LORD thy God will cast out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

23 汝の神ヱホバかれらを汝に付し大にこれを惶れ慄かしめて終にこれを滅し盡し

But the LORD thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and shall discomfit them with a great discomfiture, until they be destroyed.

24 彼らの王等を汝の手に付したまはん汝かれらの名を天が下より削るべし汝には當ることを得る者なくして汝つひに之を滅ぼし盡すに至らん

And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt make their name to perish from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.

25 汝かれらの神の雕像を火にて焚べし之に著せたる銀あるひは金を貧るべからず之を己に取べからず恐くは汝これに因て罟にかからん是は汝の神ヱホバの憎みたまふ者なれば也

The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God:

26 憎むべき物を汝の家に携へいるべからず恐くは汝も其ごとくに詛はるる者とならん汝これを大に忌み痛く嫌ふべし是は詛ふべき者なればなり

and thou shalt not bring an abomination into thine house, and become a devoted thing like unto it: thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.
