申命記 31

1 茲にモーセ往てイスラエルの一切の人にこの言をのべたり

And Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.

2 即ちこれに言けるは我は今日すでに百二十歳なれば最早出入をすること能はず且またヱホバ我にむかひて汝はこのヨルダンを濟ることを得ずと宣へり

And he said to them, I am a hundred and twenty years old this day. I can no more go out and come in. And Jehovah has said to me, Thou shall not go over this Jordan.

3 汝の神ヱホバみづから汝に先だちて渡りゆき汝の前よりこの國々の人を滅ぼしさりて汝にこれを獲させたまふべしまたヱホバのかつて宣まひしごとくヨシユア汝を率ゐて濟るべし

Jehovah thy God, he will go over before thee. He will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shall dispossess them. Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as Jehovah has spoken.

4 ヱホバさきにアモリ人の王シホンとオグおよび之が地になしたる如くまた彼らにも爲てこれを滅ぼしたまはん

And Jehovah will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, whom he destroyed.

5 ヱホバかれらを汝らの前に付したまふべければ汝らは我が汝らに命ぜし一切の命令のごとくこれに爲べし

And Jehovah will deliver them up before you, and ye shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.

6 汝ら心を強くしかつ勇め彼らを懼るる勿れ彼らの前に慄くなかれ其は汝の神ヱホバみづから汝とともに往きたまへばなり必ず汝を離れず汝を棄たまはじ

Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be frightened at them, for Jehovah thy God, he it is who goes with thee. He will not leave thee, nor forsake thee.

7 斯てモーセ、ヨシユアを呼びイスラエルの一切の人の目の前にてこれに言ふ汝はこの民とともに往き在昔ヱホバがかれらの先祖たちに與へんと誓ひたまひし地に入るべきが故に心を強くしかつ勇め汝彼らにこれを獲さすることを得べし

And Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of good courage. For thou shall go with this people into the land which Jehovah has sworn to their fathers to give them, and thou shall cause them to inherit it.

8 ヱホバみづから汝に先だちて往きたまはんまた汝とともに居り汝を離れず汝を棄たまはじ懼るる勿れ驚くなかれ

And Jehovah, he it is who goes before thee. He will be with thee. He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Fear not, neither be dismayed.

9 モーセこの律法を書きヱホバの契約の櫃を舁ところのレビの子孫たる祭司およびイスラエルの諸の長老等に授けたり

And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and to all the elders of Israel.

10 而してモーセ彼らに命じて言けるは七年の末年すなはち放釋の年の節期にいたり結茅の節において

And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,

11 イスラエルの人皆なんぢの神ヱホバの前に出んとてヱホバの選びたまふ處に來らんその時に汝イスラエルの一切の人の前にこの律法を誦てこれに聞すべし

when all Israel has come to appear before Jehovah thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

12 即ち男女子等および汝の門の内なる他國の人など一切の民を集め彼らをしてこれを聽かつ學ばしむべし然すれば彼等汝らの神ヱホバを畏れてこの律法の言を守り行はん

Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and thy sojourner who is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Jehovah your God, and observe to do all the words of this law,

13 また彼らの子等のこれを知ざる者も之を聞て汝らの神ヱホバを畏るることを學ばん汝らそのヨルダンを濟りゆきて獲ところの地に存ふる日の間つねに斯すべし

and that their sons who have not known may hear, and learn to fear Jehovah your God as long as ye live in the land where ye go over the Jordan to possess it.

14 ヱホバまたモーセに言たまひけるは視よ汝の死る日近しヨシユアを召てともに集會の幕屋に立て我かれに命ずるところあらんとモーセとヨシユアすなはち往て集會の幕屋に立けるに

And Jehovah said to Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die. Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may give him a command. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tent of meeting.

15 ヱホバ幕屋において雲の柱の中に現はれたまへりその雲の柱は幕屋の門口の上に駐まれり

And Jehovah appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood over the door of the tent.

16 ヱホバ、モーセに言たまひけるは汝は先祖たちとともに寝らん此民は起あがりその往ところの他國の神々を慕ひて之と姦淫を行ひかつ我を棄て我が彼らとむすびし契約を破らん

And Jehovah said to Moses, Behold, thou shall sleep with thy fathers. And this people will rise up, and play the harlot after the strange gods of the land where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

17 その日には我かれらにむかひて怒を發し彼らを棄て吾面をかれらに隱すべければ彼らは呑ほろぼされ許多の災害と艱難かれらに臨まん是をもてその日に彼ら言ん是等の災禍の我らにのぞむは我らの神ヱホバわれらとともに在さざるによるならずやと

Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come upon them, so that they will say in that day, Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

18 然るも彼ら諸の惡をおこなひて他の神々に歸するによりて我その日にはかならず吾面をかれらに隱さん

And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they shall have wrought, in that they have turned to other gods.

19 然ば汝ら今この歌を書きイスラエルの子孫にこれを敎へてその口に念ぜしめ此歌をしてイスラエルの子孫にむかひて我の證とならしめよ

Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach thou it the sons of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the sons of Israel.

20 我かれらの先祖たちに誓ひし乳と蜜の流るる地にかれらを導きいらんに彼らは食ひて飽き肥太るにおよばば翻へりて他の神々に歸してこれに事へ我を軽んじ吾契約を破らん

For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.

21 而して許多の災禍と艱難彼らに臨むにいたる時はこの歌かれらに對ひて證をなす者とならん其はこの歌かれらの口にありて忘るることなかるべければなり我いまだわが誓ひし地に彼らを導きいらざるに彼らは早く已に思ひ量る所あり我これを知ると

And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness, for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed. For I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.

22 モーセすなはちその日にこの歌を書てこれをイスラエルの子孫に敎へたり

So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the sons of Israel.

23 ヱホバまたヌンの子ヨシユアに命じて曰たまはく汝はイスラエルの子孫を我が其に誓ひし地に導きいるべきが故に心を強くしかつ勇め我なんぢとともに在べしと

And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a command, and said, Be strong and of good courage, for thou shall bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them, and I will be with thee.

24 モーセこの律法の言をことごとく書に書しるすことを終たる時

And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

25 モーセ、ヱホバの契約の櫃を舁ところのレビ人に命じて言けるは

that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying,

26 この律法の書をとりて汝らの神ヱホバの契約の櫃の傍にこれを置き之をして汝にむかひて證をなす者たらしめよ

Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

27 我なんぢの悖る事と頑梗なるとを知る見よ今日わが生存へて汝らとともにある間すら汝らはヱホバに悖れり况てわが死たる後においてをや

For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck. Behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against Jehovah, and how much more after my death?

28 汝らの諸支派の長老等および牧伯たちを吾許に集めよ我これらの言をかれらに語り聞せ天と地とを呼てかれらに證をなさしめん

Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

29 我しる我が死たる後には汝ら必らず惡き事を行ひ我が汝らに命ぜし道を離れん而して後の日に災害なんぢらに臨まん是なんぢらヱホバの惡と觀たまふ事をおこなひ汝らの手の行爲をもてヱホバを怒らするによりてなり

For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you. And evil will befall you in the latter days, because ye will do that which is evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

30 かくてモーセ、イスラエルの全會衆にこの歌の言をことごとく語り聞せたり

And Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished:
