コロサイ人への手紙 1
1 神の御心によりてキリスト・イエスの使徒となれるパウロ及び兄弟テモテ、
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
2 書をコロサイに居る聖徒、キリストにありて忠實なる兄弟に贈る。願はくは我らの父なる神より賜ふ恩惠と平安と汝らに在らんことを。
to the saints and faithful brothers in Christ who are in Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 我らは常に汝らの爲に祈りて、我らの主イエス・キリストの父なる神に感謝す。
We always give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ when we pray for you,
4 これキリスト・イエスを信ずる汝らの信仰と、凡ての聖徒に對する汝らの愛とにつきて聞きたればなり。
because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all the saints,
5 かく聖徒を愛するは、汝らの爲に天に蓄へあるものを望むに因る。この望のことは汝らに及べる福音の眞の言によりて汝らが曾て聞きし所なり。
the faith and love that spring from the hope that is laid up for you in heaven. You have already heard about this hope in the message of the truth of the gospel
6 この福音は全世界にも及び、果を結びて増々 大になれり。汝らが神の恩惠をききて眞に之を知りし日より、汝らの中に然りしが如し。
that has come to you. This gospel has gone out into all the world, where it is bearing fruit and increasing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth.
7 汝らが、我らと共に僕たる愛するエパフラスより學びたるは、この福音なり。彼は汝らの爲にキリストの忠實なる役者にして、
You learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf
8 汝らが御靈によりて懷ける愛を我らに告げたり。
and who also told us about your love in the Spirit.
9 この故に我らこの事を聞きし日より、汝 等のために絶えず祈りかつ求むるは、汝ら靈のもろもろの知慧と穎悟とをもて神の御意を具に知り、
For this reason, from the day we heard this, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,
10 凡てのこと主を悦ばせんが爲に、その御意に從ひて歩み、凡ての善き業によりて果を結び、いよいよ神を知り、
so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord with every desire to please him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 また神の榮光の勢威に隨ひて賜ふもろもろの力によりて強くなり、凡ての事よろこびて忍び、かつ耐へ、
being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, so that you may have great endurance and patience with joy;
12 而して我らを光にある聖徒の嗣業に與るに足る者とし給ひし父に感謝せん事なり。
giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
13 父は我らを暗黒の權威より救ひ出して、その愛しみ給ふ御子の國に遷したまへり。
He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son,
14 我らは御子に在りて贖罪すなはち罪の赦を得るなり。
in whom we have redemption, the remission of sins.
15 彼は見 得べからざる神の像にして、萬の造られし物の先に生れ給へる者なり。
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
16 萬の物は彼によりて造らる、天に在るもの、地に在るもの、見ゆるもの、見えぬもの、或は位、あるひは支配、あるひは政治、あるひは權威、みな彼によりて造られ、彼のために造られたればなり。
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
17 彼は萬の物より先にあり、萬の物は彼によりて保つことを得るなり。
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
18 而して彼はその體なる教會の首なり、彼は始にして死人の中より最先に生れ給ひし者なり。これ凡ての事に就きて長とならん爲なり。
He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that in everything he may be preeminent.
19 神は凡ての滿ち足れる徳を彼に宿して、
For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,
20 その十字架の血によりて平和をなし、或は地にあるもの、或は天にあるもの、萬の物をして己と和がしむるを善しとし給ひたればなり。
and through him to reconcile all things to himself, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace through the blood of his cross.
21 汝 等もとは惡しき業を行ひて神に遠ざかり、心にて其の敵となりしが、
At one time you were alienated from God and hostile in your minds because of your evil works. But now God has reconciled you to himself
22 今は神キリストの肉の體をもて、其の死により汝 等をして己と和がしめ、潔く瑕なく責むべき所なくして、己の前に立たしめんし給ふなり。
through the death of Christ in his physical body, in order to bring you into his own presence as holy, unblemished, and above reproach,
23 汝 等もし信仰に止り、之に基きて堅く立ち、福音の望より移らずば、斯くせらるることを得べし。此の福音は汝らの聞きし所、また天の下なる凡ての造られし物に宣傳へられたるものにして、我パウロはその役者となれり。
if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, without shifting away from the hope of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has been preached in all creation under heaven, and of this gospel I, Paul, have become a servant.
24 われ今なんぢらの爲に受くる苦難を喜び、又キリストの體なる教會のために、我が身をもてキリストの患難の缺けたるを補ふ。
I rejoice now in my sufferings for you, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church.
25 われ神より汝 等のために與へられたる職に隨ひて教會の役者となれり。
I became a servant of the church according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known,
the mystery that has been hidden for ages and generations but has now been revealed to his saints. (aiōn g165)
27 神は聖徒をして異邦人の中なるこの奧義の榮光の富の如何ばかりなるかを知らしめんと欲し給へり、此の奧義は汝らの中に在すキリストにして榮光の望なり。
To them God resolved to make known how great among the Gentiles are the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
28 我らは此のキリストを傳へ、知慧を盡して凡ての人を訓戒し、凡ての人を教ふ。これ凡ての人をしてキリストに在り、全くなりて神の前に立つことを得しめん爲なり。
He is the one we proclaim, admonishing everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ Jesus.
29 われ之がために我が衷に能力をもて働き給ふものの活動にしたがひ、力を盡して勞するなり。
To this end I labor, striving according to his energy that is powerfully at work within me.
