アモス書 1
1 テコアの牧者の中なるアモスの言 是はユダの王ウジヤの世 イスラエルの王ヨアシの子ヤラベアムの世 地震の二年前に彼が見されたる者にてイスラエルの事を論るなり 其言に云く
The words of Amos, one of the shepherds of Tekoa, which he prophesied concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earth quake. He said: —
2 ヱホバ、シオンより呼號りエルサレムより聲を出したまふ 牧者の牧塲は哀きカルメルの巓は枯る
Jehovah will roar from Zion, And utter his voice from Jerusalem; The habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, And the top of Carmel shall wither.
3 ヱホバかく言たまふ ダマスコは三の罪あり 四の罪あれば我かならず之を罰して赦さじ 即ち彼らは鐵の打禾車をもてギレアデを打り
Thus saith Jehovah; For three transgressions of Damascus, And for four, will I not turn away its punishment; For they thrashed Gilead with thrashing-wains of iron.
4 我ハザエルの家に火を遣りベネハダデの宮殿を焚ん
I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael, Which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.
5 我ダマスコの關を碎きアベンの谷の中よりその居民を絶のぞきベテエデンの中より王の杖を執る者を絶のぞかん スリアの民は擄へられてキルにゆかん ヱホバこれを言ふ
I will also break the bar of Damascus, And I will destroy the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, And him that holdeth the sceptre from Beth-Eden, And the people of Syria shall be led captive to Kir: Jehovah hath said it.
6 ヱホバかく言たまふ ガザは三の罪あり 四の罪あれば我かならず之を罰して赦さじ 即ち彼らは俘囚をことごとく曳ゆきてこれをエドムに付せり
Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, And for four, I will not turn away its punishment; For they led captive all that fell into their hands, And delivered them up to Edom.
7 我ガザの石垣の内に火を遣り一切の殿を焚ん
But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, Which shall devour her palaces.
8 我アシドドの中よりその居民を絶のぞきアシケロンの中より王の杖を執る者を絶除かん 我また手を反してエクロンを撃ん ペリシテ人の遺れる者亡ぶべし 主ヱホバこれを言ふ
And I will destroy the inhabitant from Ashdod, And him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon; And I will turn my hand against Ekron, And the residue of the Philistines shall perish. The Lord, Jehovah, hath said it.
9 ヱホバかく言たまふ ツロは三の罪あり 四の罪あれば我かならず之を罰して赦さじ 即ち彼らは俘囚をことごとくエドムに付しまた兄弟の契約を忘れたり
Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, And for four, will I not turn away its punishment; Because they delivered up all their captives to Edom, And remembered not the brotherly covenant.
10 我ツロの石垣の内に火を遣り一切の殿を焚ん
But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, Which shall devour her palaces.
11 ヱホバかく言たまふ エドムは三の罪あり 四の罪あれば我かならず之を罰して赦さじ 即ち彼は劍をもてその兄弟を追ひ全く憐憫の情を斷ち恒に怒りて人を害し永くその憤恨をたくはへたり
Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, And for four, will I not turn away his punishment; For he pursued his brother with the sword, And cast off all pity, And his anger tore perpetually; Yea, he kept his wrath forever.
12 我テマンに火を遣りポヅラの一切の殿を焚ん
But I will send a fire upon Teman. Which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13 ヱホバかく言たまふ アンモンの人々は三の罪あり 四の罪あれば我かならず之を罰して赦さじ 即ち彼らはその國境を廣めんとてギレアデの孕める婦を剖たり
Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, And for four, will I not turn away their punishment; For they ripped up the women with child of Gilead, That they might enlarge their border.
14 我ラバの石垣の内に火を放ちその一切の殿を焚ん 是は戰鬪の日に吶喊の聲をもて爲され暴風の日に旋風をもて爲されん
But I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah, Which shall devour her palaces, Amid the war-shout in the day of battle, In a whirlwind in the day of the storm.
15 彼らの王はその牧伯等と諸共に擄へられて往ん ヱホバこれを言ふ
Their king shall go into captivity, He and his princes together, saith Jehovah.
