アモス書 8
1 主ヱホバの我に示したまへるところ是のごとし 即ち熟したる果物一筐あり
The Lord Jehovah showed me this vision: Behold a basket of ripe fruits!
2 ヱホバわれにむかひてアモス汝何を見るやと言たまひければ熟したる果物一筐を見ると答へしにヱホバ我に言たまはく我民イスラエルの終いたれり 我ふたたび彼らを見過しにせじ
And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of ripe fruits. Then said Jehovah to me, The destruction of my people Israel is ripe; I will not spare them any more.
3 主ヱホバ言たまふ 其日には宮殿の歌は哀哭に變らん 死屍おびただしくあり 人これを遍き處に投棄ん 默せよ
The songs of the palace shall be shrieks in that day, Saith the Lord Jehovah. There shall be many dead bodies in every place, And they shall be cast forth in silence.
4 汝ら喘ぎて貧しき者に迫り且地の困難者を滅す者よ之を聽け
Hear this, ye that pant to oppress the needy, And to destroy the poor of the land.
5 汝らは言ふ月朔は何時過去んか 我等穀物を賣んとす 安息日は何時過去んか 我ら麥倉を開かんとす 我らエパを小くしシケルを大くし僞の權衡をもて欺く事をなし
That say, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn, And the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, Making the ephah small, and the shekel heavy, And falsifying the balances for deceit,
6 銀をもて賤しき者を買ひ鞋一足をもて貧き者を買ひかつ屑麥を賣いださんと
That we may buy the poor for silver, And the needy for a pair of shoes, And sell the refuse of the wheat?
7 ヱホバ、ヤコブの榮光を指て誓ひて言たまふ 我かならず彼等の一切の行爲を何時までも忘れじ
Jehovah hath sworn by the glory of Jacob: Surely I will never forget any of their deeds.
8 之がために地震はざらんや地に住る者みな哭かざらんや 地みな河のごとく噴あがらん エジプトの河のごとく湧あがり又沈まん
Shall not the land tremble for this, And shall not all that dwell therein mourn? Shall not all of it rise in waves like a river, And be swept from its place, and overflowed, as by the river of Egypt!
9 主ヱホバ言たまふ其日には我日をして眞晝に沒せしめ地をして白晝に暗くならしめ
It shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord Jehovah, That I will cause the sun to go down at noon, And will darken the land in the clear day.
10 汝らの節筵を悲傷に變らせ汝らの歌を盡く哀哭に變らせ一切の人に麻布を腰に纒はしめ一切の人に頂を剃しめ其日をして獨子を喪へる哀傷のごとくならしめ其終をして苦き日のごとくならしめん
I will turn your feasts into mourning, And all your songs into lamentation; I will bring sackcloth upon all loins, And baldness upon all heads. I will fill the land with mourning, as for an only son, And its end shall be as a day of bitter woe.
11 主ヱホバ言たまふ 視よ日至らんとす その時我饑饉たを此國におくらん 是はパンに乏しきに非ず 水に渇くに非ず ヱホバの言を聽ことの饑饉なり
Behold, the time cometh, saith the Lord Jehovah, That I will send a famine upon the land; Not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the word of Jehovah.
12 彼らは海より海とさまよひ歩き北より東と奔まはりてヱホバの言を求めん 然ど之を得ざるべし
And men shall wander from sea to sea, And from the north even to the east shall they run to and fro, To seek an answer from Jehovah, and shall not find it.
13 その日には美しき處女も少き男もともに渇のために絶いらん
In that day shall the fair virgins, and the young men, faint for thirst,
14 かのサマリヤの罪を指て誓ひダンよ汝の神は活くと言ひまたベエルシバの路は活くと言る者等は必ず仆れん 復興ることあらじ
Who swear by the sin of Samaria, And say, By the life of thy God, O Dan! And, By the worship of Beersheba! They shall fall, and shall rise no more!
