テモテへの手紙第二 1
1 神の御意により、キリスト・イエスにある生命の約束に循ひて、キリスト・イエスの使徒になれるパウロ、
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
2 書を我が愛する子テモテに贈る。願はくは父なる神および我らの主キリスト・イエスより賜ふ、恩惠と憐憫と平安と汝に在らんことを。
To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 われ夜も晝も祈の中に絶えず汝を思ひて、わが先祖に效ひ清き良心をもて事ふる神に感謝す。
I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
4 我なんぢの涙を憶え、わが歡喜の滿ちん爲に汝を見んことを欲す。
Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
5 是なんぢに在る虚僞なき信仰をおもひ出すに因りてなり。その信仰の曩に汝の祖母ロイス及び母ユニケに宿りしごとく、汝にも然るを確信す。
When I call to remembrance the sincere faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that is in thee also.
6 この故に、わが按手に因りて汝の内に得たる神の賜物をますます熾にせんことを勸む。
For which cause I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the laying on of my hands.
7 そは神の我らに賜ひたるは、臆する靈にあらず、能力と愛と謹愼との靈なればなり。
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 されば汝われらの主の證をなす事と、主の囚人たる我とを恥とすな、ただ神の能力に隨ひて福音のために我とともに苦難を忍べ。
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (aiōnios g166)
10 この恩惠は今われらの救主キリスト・イエスの現れ給ふに因りて顯れたり。彼は死をほろぼし、福音をもて生命と朽ちざる事とを明かにし給へり。
But has now been revealed by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
11 我はこの福音のために立てられて宣傳者・使徒・教師となれり。
To which I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
12 之がために我これらの苦難に遭ふ。されど之を恥とせず、我わが依頼む者を知り、且わが委ねたる者を、かの日に至るまで守り得給ふことを確信すればなり。
For which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him until that day.
13 汝キリスト・イエスにある信仰と愛とをもて我より聽きし健全なる言の模範を保ち、
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
14 かつ委ねられたる善きものを我等のうちに宿りたまふ聖 靈に頼りて守るべし。
That good thing which was committed to thee keep by the Holy Spirit who dwelleth in us.
15 アジヤに居る者みな我を棄てしは汝の知る所なり、その中にフゲロとヘルモゲネとあり。
This thou knowest, that all they who are in Asia are turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
16 願はくは主オネシポロの家に憐憫を賜はんことを。彼はしばしば我を慰め、又わが鎖を恥とせず。
The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:
17 そのロマに居りし時には懇ろに尋ね來りて、遂に逢ひたり。
But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
18 願はくは主かの日にいたり主の憐憫を彼に賜はんことを、彼がエペソにて我に事へしことの如何ばかりなりしかは、汝の能く知るところなり。
The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered to me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
