サムエル記Ⅰ 23

1 人々ダビデにつげていひけるは視よペリシテ人ケイラを攻め穀場を掠むと

Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshing floors.

2 ダビデ、ヱホバに問ていひけるは我ゆきて是のペリシテ人を撃つべきかとヱホバ、ダビデにいひたまひけるは往てペリシテ人をうちてケイラを救ヘ

Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and strike these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and strike the Philistines, and save Keilah.

3 ダビデの從者かれにいひけるは視よわれら此にユダにあるすら尚ほおそる况やケイラにゆきてペリシテ人の軍にあたるをやと

And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?

4 ダビデふたたびヱホバに問ひけるにヱホバ答ていひたまひけるは起てケイラにくだれ我ペリシテ人を汝の手にわたすべし

Then David enquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.

5 ダビデとその從者ケイラにゆきてペリシテ人とたたかひ彼らの家畜を奪ひとり大にかれらをうちころせりかくダビデ、ケイラの居民をすくふ

So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and stroke them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

6 アヒメレクの子アビヤタル、ケイラにのがれてダビデにいたれる時其手にエポデを執てくだれり

And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.

7 爰にダビデのケイラに至れる事サウルに聞えければサウルいふ神かれを我手にわたしたまへり其はかれ門あり關ある邑にいりたれば閉こめらるればなり

And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God has delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that has gates and bars.

8 サウルすなはち民をことごとく軍によびあつめてケイラにくだりてダビデと其從者を圍んとす

And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.

9 ダビデはサウルのおのれを害せんと謀るを知りて祭司アビヤタルにいひけるはエポデを持ちきたれと

And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring here the ephod.

10 しかしてダビデいひけるはイスラエルの神ヱホバよ僕たしかにサウルがケイラにきたりてわがために此邑をほろぼさんと求むるを聞り

Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, your servant has certainly heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.

11 ケイラの人々我をかれの手にわたすならんか僕のきけるごとくサウル下るならんかイスラエルの神ヱホバよ請ふ僕につげたまへとヱホバいひたまひけるは彼下るべしと

Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? O LORD God of Israel, I plead to you, tell your servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.

12 ダビデいひけるはケイラの人々われとわが從者をサウルの手にわたすならんかヱホバいひたまひけるは彼らわたすべし

Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver you up.

13 是においてダビデと其六百人ばかりの從者起てケイラをいで其ゆきうる所にゆけりダビデのケイラをにげはなれしことサウルに聞えければサウルいづることを止たり

Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went anywhere they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he ceased to go forth.

14 ダビデは曠野にをり要害の地にをりまたジフの野にある山に居るサウル恒にかれを尋ねたれども神かれを其手にわたしたまはざりき

And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.

15 ダビデ、サウルがおのれの生命を求めんために出たるを見る時にダビデはジフの野の叢林にをりしが

And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.

16 サウルの子ヨナタンたちて叢林にいりてダビデにいたり神によりて其力を強うせしめたり

And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.

17 即ちヨナタンかれにいひけるに懼るるなかれわが父サウルの手汝にとどくことあらじ汝はイスラエルの王とならん我は汝の次なるべし此事はわが父サウルもしれりと

And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; and you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto you; and that also Saul my father knows.

18 かくて彼ら二人ヱホバのまへに契約をむすびダビデは叢林にとどまりヨナタンは其家にかへれり

And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.

19 時にジフ人ギベアにのぼりサウルの許にいたりていひけるはダビデは曠野の南にあるハキラの山の叢林の中なる要害に隱れて我らとともにをるにあらずや

Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Does not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?

20 今王汝のくだらんとする望のごとく下りたまへ我らはかれを王の手にわたさんと

Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of your soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king's hand.

21 サウルいひけるは汝ら我をあはれめば願くは汝等ヱホバより福祉をえよ

And Saul said, Blessed be all of you of the LORD; for all of you have compassion on me.

22 請ふゆきて尚ほ心を用ひ彼の踪跡ある處と誰がかれを見たるかを見きはめよ其は人我にかれが甚だ機巧く事を爲すを告たれば也

Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who has seen him there: for it is told me that he deals very subtlely.

23 されば汝ら彼が隱るる逃躱處を皆たしかに見きはめて再び我にきたれ我汝らとともにゆかん彼もし其地にあらば我ユダの郡中をあまねく尋ねて彼を獲んと

See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hides himself, and come all of you again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.

24 かれらたちてサウルに先てジフにゆけりダビデと其從者は曠野の南のアラバにあるマオンの野にをる

And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.

25 斯てサウルと其從者ゆきて彼を尋ぬ人々これをダビデに告ければダビデ巌を下てマオンの野にをるサウル之を聞てマオンの野に至てダビデを追ふ

Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David; wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.

26 サウルは山の此旁に行ダビデと其從者は山の彼旁に行ダビデは周章てサウルの前を避んとしサウルと其從者はダビデと其從者を圍んで之を取んとす

And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.

27 時に使者サウルに來て言けるはペリシテ人國ををかす急ぎきたりたまへと

But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste you, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.

28 故にサウル、ダビデを追ことを止てかへり往てペリシテ人にあたるここをもて人々その處をセラマレコテ(逃岩)となづく

Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Selahammahlekoth.

29 ダビデ其處よりのぼりてエンゲデの要害にをる

And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at Engedi.
