ペテロの手紙第一 5
1 われ汝らの中なる長老たちに勸む（我は汝らと同じく長老たる者、またキリストの苦難の證人、顯れんとする榮光に與る者なり）
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 汝らの中にある神の群羊を牧へ。止むを得ずして爲さず、神に從ひて心より爲し、利を貪るために爲さず、悦びてなし、
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 委ねられたる者の主とならず、群羊の模範となれ。
Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 さらば大牧者の現れ給ふとき、萎まざる光榮の冠冕を受けん。
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 若き者よ、なんぢら長老たちに服へ、かつ皆たがひに謙遜をまとへ『神は高ぶる者を拒ぎ、へりくだる者に恩惠を與へ給ふ』
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 この故に神の能力ある御手の下に己を卑うせよ、さらば時に及びて神なんぢらを高うし給はん。
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 又もろもろの心勞を神に委ねよ、神なんぢらの爲に慮ぱかり給へばなり。
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 愼みて目を覺しをれ、汝らの仇なる惡魔、ほゆる獅子のごとく歴迴りて呑むべきものを尋ぬ。
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 なんぢら信仰を堅うして彼を禦げ、なんぢらは世にある兄弟たちの同じ苦難に遭ふを知ればなり。
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 もろもろの恩惠の神、すなはち永遠の榮光を受けしめんとて、キリストによりて汝らを召し給へる神は、汝らが暫く苦難をうくる後、なんぢらを全うし、堅うし、強くして、その基を定め給はん。 (aiōnios g166)
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. (aiōnios g166)
To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
12 われ忠實なる兄弟なりと思ふシルワノに由りて、簡單に書き贈りて汝らに勸め、かつ此は神の眞の恩惠なることを證す、汝 等この恩惠に立て。
By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.
13 汝らと共に選ばれてバビロンに在る教會、なんぢらに安否を問ふ、わが子マルコも安否を問ふ。
The Assembly that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
14 なんぢら愛の接吻をもて互に安否を問へ。願はくはキリストに在る汝ら衆に平安あらんことを。
Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
