列王記Ⅰ 5
1 ツロの王ヒラム、ソロモンの膏そそがれて其父にかはりて王となりしを聞て其臣僕をソロモンに遣せりヒラムは恒にダビデを愛したる者なりければなり
And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
2 是に於てソロモン、ヒラムに言遣はしけるは
And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3 汝の知ごとく我父ダビデは其周圍にありし戰爭に因て其神ヱホバの名のために家を建ること能はずしてヱホバが彼等を其足の跖の下に置またふを待り
Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house to the name of the LORD his God, for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
4 然るに今わが神ヱホバ我に四方の太平を賜ひて敵もなく殃もなければ
But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, [so that there is] neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
5 我はヱホバのわが父ダビデに語てわが汝の代に汝の位に上しむる汝の子其人はわが名のために家を建べしと言たまひしに循ひてわが神ヱホバの名のために家を建んとす
And behold, I purpose to build a house to the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build a house to my name.
6 されば汝命じてわがためにレバノンより香柏を砍出さしめよわが僕汝の僕と共にあるべし又我は凡て汝の言ふごとく汝の僕の賃銀を汝に付すべし其は汝の知ごとく我儕の中にはシドン人の如く木を砍に巧みなる人なければなりと
Now therefore command thou, that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and to thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that [there is] not among us any that is skilled in hewing timber like the Sidonians.
7 ヒラム、ソロモンの言を聞て大に喜び言けるは今日ヱホバに稱譽あれヱホバ、ダビデに此夥多しき民を治むる賢き子を與たまへりと
And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed [be] the LORD this day, who hath given to David a wise son over this great people.
8 かくてヒラム、ソロモンに言遣りけるは我汝が言ひ遣したる所の事を聽り我香柏の材木と松樹の材木とに付ては凡て汝の望むごとく爲すべし
And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: [and] I will perform all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
9 わが僕レバノンより海に持下らんしかして我これを海より桴にくみて汝が我に言ひ遣す處におくり其處にて之をくづすべし汝之を受よ又汝はわが家のために食物を與へてわが望を成せと
My servants shall bring [them] down from Lebanon to the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats to the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive [them]: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
10 斯てヒラムはソロモンに其凡て望むごとく香柏の材木と松の材木を與へたり
So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees [according to] all his desire.
11 又ソロモンはヒラムに其家の食物として小麥二萬石を與へまた清油二十石をあたへたり斯ソロモン年々ヒラムに與へたり
And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat [for] food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.
12 ヱホバ其言たまひしごとくソロモンに智慧を賜へりまたヒラムとソロモンの間睦しくして二人偕に契約を結べり
And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
13 爰にソロモン王イスラエルの全地に徴募人を興せり其徴募人の數は三萬人なり
And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14 ソロモンかれらを一月交代に一萬人づつレバノンに遣せり即ち彼等は一月レバノンに二月家にありアドニラムは徴募人の督者なりき
And he sent them to Lebanon ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, [and] two months at home. And Adoniram [was] over the levy.
15 ソロモン負載者七萬人山に於て石を砍る者八萬人あり
And Solomon had seventy thousand that bore burdens, and eighty thousand hewers in the mountains;
16 外に又其工事の長なる官吏三千三百人ありて工事に作く民を統たり
Besides the chief of Solomon's officers who [were] over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
17 かくて王命じて大なる石貴き石を鑿出さしめ琢石を以て家の基礎を築かしむ
And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, [and] hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
18 ソロモンの建築者とヒラムの建築者およびゲバル人之を砍り斯彼等材木と石を家を建るに備へたり
And Solomon's builders, and Hiram's builders did hew [them], and the stone-squarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.
