1 ソロモン王はイスラエルの全地に王たり
King Solomon was king over all Israel.
2 其有る群卿は左の如しザドクの子アザリヤは相國
These were his officials: Azariah son of Zadok was the priest.
3 シシヤの子エリホレフとアヒヤは書記官アヒルデの子ヨシヤパテは史官
Elihoreph and Ahijah sons of Shisha, were secretaries. Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder.
4 ヱホヤダの子ベナヤは軍の長ザドクとアビヤタルは祭司
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the army. Zadok and Abiathar were priests.
5 ナタンの子アザリヤは代官の長ナタンの子ザブデは大臣にして王の友たり
Azariah son of Nathan was over the officers. Zabud son of Nathan was a priest and the king's friend.
6 アヒシヤルは宮内卿アブダの子アドニラムは徴募長なり
Ahishar was over the household. Adoniram son of Abda was over the men who were subjected to forced labor.
7 ソロモン又イスラエルの全地に十二の代官を置り其人々王と其家のために食物を備へたり即ち各一年に一月宛食物を備へたり
Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household. Each man had to make provision for one month in the year.
8 其名左のごとしエフライムの山地にはベンホル
These were their names: Ben-Hur, in the hill country of Ephraim;
9 マカヅとシヤラビムとベテシメシとエロンベテハナンにはベンデケル
Ben-Deker in Makaz, Shaalbim, Beth Shemesh, and Elon Beth Hanan;
10 アルポテにはベンヘセデありシヨコとヘベルの全地とは彼擔任り
Ben-Hesed, in Arubboth (to him belonged Sokoh and all the land of Hepher);
11 ドルの高地の全部にはベンアヒナダブあり彼はソロモンの女タパテを妻とせり
Ben-Abinadab, in all Naphoth Dor (he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon as his wife);
12 アルヒデの子バアナはタアナクとメギドとヱズレルの下にザルタナの邊にあるベテシヤンの全地とを擔任てベテシヤンよりアベルメホラにいたりヨクネアムの外にまで及ぶ
Baana son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth Shan that is beside Zarethan below Jezreel, from Beth Shan to Abel Meholah as far as the other side of Jokmeam;
13 ギレアデのラモテにはベンゲベルあり彼はギレアデにあるマナセの子ヤイルの諸村を擔任ち又バシヤンなるアルゴブの地にある石垣と銅の關を有る大なる城六十を擔任り
Ben-Geber, in Ramoth Gilead (to him belonged the towns of Jair son of Manasseh, that are in Gilead, and the region of Argob belonged to him, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze gate bars);
14 イドの子アヒナダブはマハナイムを擔任り
Ahinadab son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;
15 ナフタリにはアヒマアズあり彼もソロモンの女バスマテを妻に娶れり
Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he also married Basemath the daughter of Solomon as his wife);
16 アセルとアロテにはホシヤイの子バアナあり
Baana son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;
17 イツサカルにはパルアの子ヨシヤパテあり
Jehoshaphat son of Paruah, in Issachar;
18 ベニヤミンにはエラの子シメイあり
Shimei son of Ela, in Benjamin;
19 アモリ人の王シホンの地およびバシヤンの王オグの地なるギレアデの地にはウリの子ゲベルあり其地にありし代官は唯彼一人のみ
and Geber son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan, and he was the only official who was in the land.
20 ユダとイスラエルの人は多くして濱の沙の多きがごとくなりしが飮食して樂めり
Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand by the sea. They were eating and drinking and were happy.
21 ソロモンは河よりペリシテ人の地にいたるまでとエジプトの境に及ぶまでの諸國を治めたれば皆禮物を餽りてソロモンの一生の間事へたり
Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22 偖ソロモンの一日の食物は細麺三十石粗麺六十石
Solomon's provision for one day was thirty cors of fine flour and sixty cors of meal,
23 肥牛十牧場の牛二十羊一百其外に牡鹿羚羊小鹿および肥たる禽あり
ten fat oxen, twenty oxen out of the pastures, and one hundred sheep, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened fowl.
24 其はソロモン河の此方をテフサよりガザまで盡く治めたればなり即ち河の此方の諸王を悉く統治たり彼は四方の臣僕より平安を得たりき
For he had dominion over all the region on this side of the River, from Tiphsah as far as to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River, and he had peace on all sides around him.
25 ソロモンの一生の間ユダとイスラエルはダンよりベエルシバに至るまで安然に各其葡萄樹の下と無花果樹の下に住り
Judah and Israel lived in safety, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
26 ソロモン戰車の馬の厩四千騎兵一萬二千を有り
Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27 彼代官等各其月にソロモン王のためおよび總てソロモン王の席に來る者の爲に食を備へて缺るとこるなからしめたり
Those officials provided food for King Solomon and for all who came to King Solomon's table, every man in his month. They let nothing be lacking.
28 又彼等各其職に循ひて馬および疾足の馬に食する大麥と蒭蕘を其馬の在る處に携へ來れり
They also brought to the proper place barley and straw for the chariot horses and riding horses, each one bringing in what he was able.
29 神ソロモンに智慧と聰明を甚だ多く賜ひ又廣大き心を賜ふ海濱の沙のごとし
God gave Solomon great wisdom and understanding, and wideness of understanding like the sand on the seashore.
30 ソロモンの智慧は東洋の人々の智慧とエジプトの諸の智慧よりも大なりき
Solomon's wisdom exceeded the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31 彼は凡の人よりも賢くエズラ人エタンよりも又マホルの子なるヘマンとカルコルおよびダルダよりも賢くして其名四方の諸國に聞えたり
He was wiser than all men—than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Kalkol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol—and his fame reached all the surrounding nations.
32 彼箴言三千を説り又其詩歌は一千五首あり
He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs were one thousand and five in number.
33 彼又草木の事を論じてレバノンの香柏より墻に生る苔に迄及べり彼亦獣と鳥と匐行物と魚の事を論じたり
He described the plants, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of the wall. He explained also about beasts, birds, creeping things, and fish.
34 諸の國の人々ソロモンの智慧を聽んとて來り天下の諸の王ソロモンの智慧を聞及びて人を遣はせり
People came from all the nations to hear the wisdom of Solomon. They came from all kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
