1 イスラエルの長子ルベンの子等は左のごとしルベンは長子なりしがその父の床を瀆ししによりてその長子の權はイスラエルの子ヨセフの子等に與へらる然れども系譜は長子の權にしたがひて記すべきに非ず
And the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn, but, inasmuch as he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, and so the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
2 そはユダその諸兄弟に勝る者となりて君たる者その中より出ればなり但し長子の權はヨセフに屬す
Now Judah prevailed above his brothers, and the ruler came from him, but the birthright was Joseph's),
3 即ちイスラエルの長子ルベンの子等はハノク、パル、ヘヅロン、カルミ
the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 ヨエルの子はシマヤ その子はゴグ その子はシメイ
The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
5 その子はミカ その子はレアヤ その子はバアル
Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
6 その子はベエラ このべエラはアッスリヤの王テルガテピルネセルに擄へられてゆけり彼はルベン人の中に牧伯たる者なりき
Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive. He was ruler of the Reubenites.
7 彼の兄弟等はその宗族に依りその歴代の系譜によれば左のごとし長ヱイエルおよびゼカリヤ
And his brothers by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
8 ベラ等なりベラはアザズの子シマの孫ヨエルの曾孫なりかれアロエルに住みて地をネボ、バアルメオンにまでおよぼししが
and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even to Nebo and Baal-meon.
9 ギレアデの地にてその家畜殖増ければまた地を東の方ユフラテ河の此方なる荒野の極端にまでおよぼせり
And eastward he dwelt even to the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10 またサウルの時にハガリ人と戰爭してこれを打破りギレアデの東の全部なる彼らの幕屋に住たり
And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand, and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.
11 ガドの子孫はこれと相對ひてバシヤンの地にすみて地をサルカにまで及ぼせり
And the sons of Gad dwelt opposite them, in the land of Bashan to Salecah:
12 長はヨエル次はシヤパム、ヤアナイ、シヤパテ共にバシヤンに居り
Joel the chief, and Shapham the second, and Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 彼らの兄弟等はその宗家によればミカエル、メシユラム、シバ、ヨライ、ヤカン、ジア、ヘベル都合七人
And their brothers of their fathers' houses: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.
14 是等はホリの子アビハイルの子等なり ホリはヤロアの子ヤロアはギレアデの子ギレアデはミカエルの子ミカエはヱシサイの子ヱシサイはヤドの子ヤドはブズの子
These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz.
15 アヒはアブデルの子アブデルはグニの子グニは其宗家の長たり
Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was chief of their fathers' houses.
16 彼らはギレアデとバシヤンと其郷里とシヤロンの諸郊地に住て地を其四方の境に及ぼせり
And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as their borders.
17 是等はみなユダの王ヨタムの世とイスラエルの王ヤラベアムの世に系譜に載たるなり
All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 ルベンの子孫とガド人とマナセの半支派には出て戰ふべき者四萬四千七百六十人あり皆勇士にして能く楯と矛とを執り善く弓を彎きかつ善戰ふ者なり
The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, who were able to go forth to war.
19 彼等ハガリ人およびヱトル、ネフシ、ノダブ等と戰爭しけるが
And they made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
20 助力をかうむりて攻撃たればハガリ人および之と偕なりし者等みな彼らの手におちいれり是は彼ら陣中にて神を呼びこれを賴みしによりて神これを聽いれたまひしが故なり
And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them, for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated by them because they put their trust in him.
21 かくて彼らその家畜を奪ひとりしに駱駝五萬 羊二十五萬 驢馬二千あり人十萬ありき
And they took away their cattle: of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men a hundred thousand.
22 またころされて倒れたる者衆しその戰爭神に由るがゆゑなり而して彼らはこれが地に代りて住その擄移さるる時におよべり
For there fell many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.
23 マナセの半支派の人々はこの地に住み殖蔓りてつひにバシヤンよりバアルヘルモン、セニルおよびヘルモン山まで地をおよぼせり
And the sons of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land. They increased from Bashan to Baal-hermon and Senir and mount Hermon.
24 その宗家の長は左のごとし即ちエペル、イシ、エリエル、アズリエル、ヱレミヤ、ホダヤ、ヤデエル是みなその宗家の長にして名ある大勇士なりき
And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.
25 彼等その先祖等の神にむかひて罪を犯し曾て彼等の前に神の滅ぼしたまひし國の民等の神を慕ひてこれと姦淫したれば
And they trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the harlot after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26 イスラエルの神アッスリヤの王ブルの心を振興しまたアッスリヤの王テグラテビレセルの心を振興したまへり彼つひにルベン人とガド人とマナセの半支派とを擄へゆきこれをハウラとハボルとハラとゴザンの河の邊とに移せり彼等は今日まで其處にあり
And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan to this day.
