歴代誌Ⅰ 20

1 年かへりて王等の戰爭に出る時におよびてヨアブ軍勢を率ゐて出でアンモン人の地を打荒し往てラバを攻圍りされどダビデはヱルサレムに止まりたりヨアブつひにラバを撃壞りてこれを滅ぼせり

And it came to pass, at the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and overthrew it.

2 ダビデ彼らの王の冠冕をその首より取はなしたりしがその金の重を量り見るに一タラントありまたその中に寶石を嵌たるありき之をダビデの首に冠らせたり彼また甚だ衆多の掠取物をその邑より取り

And David took the crown of Malcam from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David's head; and he brought forth the spoil of the city, exceeding much.

3 而して彼またその中の民を曳いだし鋸と鐵の打車と斧とをもてこれを斬りダビデ、アンモンの子孫の一切の邑に斯く爲り而してダビデとその民はみなヱルサレムに歸りぬ

And he brought forth the people that were therein, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. And thus did David unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

4 この後ゲゼルにおいてペリシテ人と戰爭おこりたりしがその時にホシヤ人シベカイ巨人の子孫の一人なるシバイを殺せり彼等つひに攻伏られき

And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Sippai, of the sons of the giants; and they were subdued.

5 復ペリシテ人と戰爭ありしがヤイルの子エルハナン、ガテのゴリアテの兄弟ラミを殺せりラミの槍の柄は機の滕の如くなりき

And there was again war with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

6 またガテに戰爭ありしが其處に一人の身長き人ありその手の指と足の趾は六宛にして合せて二十四あり彼も巨人の生る者なりき

And there was again war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot; and he also was born unto the giant.

7 彼イスラエルを挑みしかばダビデの兄弟シメアの子ヨナタンこれを殺せり

And when he taunted Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.

8 是等はガテにて巨人の生る者なりしがダビデの手とその臣僕の手に斃れたり

These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
