歴代誌Ⅰ 10
1 茲にペリシテ人イスラエルと戰ひけるがイスラエルの人々はペリシテ人の前より逃げギルボア山に殺されて倒れたり
And the Philistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain on mount Gilboa.
2 ペリシテ人はサウルとその子等を追撃しかしてペリシテ人サウルの子ヨナタン、アビナダブおよびマルキシユアを殺せり
And the Philistines followed hard after Saul and after his sons; and the Philistines smote Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi-shua, Saul's sons.
3 斯その戰闘烈しうしてサウルにおし迫り射手の者等つひにサウルに追つきければサウルは射手の者等のために惱めり
And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers came up with him, and he was terrified by the archers.
4 サウル是におひてその武器を執る者に言けるは汝の劍をぬき其をもて我を刺せ恐らくはこの割禮なき者等きたりて我を辱しめんと然るにその武器を執る者痛くおそれて肯はざりければサウルすなはちその劍をとりてその上に伏たり
Then said Saul to his armour-bearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through with it; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armour-bearer would not; for he was much afraid. So Saul took the sword and fell on it.
5 武器を執る者サウルの死たるを見て己もまた劍の上に伏て死り
And when his armour-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise on the sword, and died.
6 斯サウルとその三人の子等およびその家族みな共に死り
So Saul died, and his three sons, and all his house died together.
7 谷に居るイスラエルの人々みな彼らの逃るを見またサウルとその子等の死るを見てその邑々を棄て逃ければペリシテ人來りてその中に住り
And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook their cities and fled; and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.
8 明る日ペリシテ人殺されたる者を剥んとて來りサウルとその子等のギルボア山にたふれをるを見
And it came to pass the next day, that the Philistines came to strip the slain, and they found Saul and his sons fallen on mount Gilboa.
9 すなはちサウルを剥てその首とその鎧甲を取りペリシテの國の四方に人を遣はしてこの事をその偶像と民に告しめ
And they stripped him, and took his head, and his armour, and sent [them] into the land of the Philistines round about, to announce the glad tidings to their idols, and to the people.
10 しかしてかれが鎧甲をその神の室に蔵め彼が首をダゴンの宮に釘けたり
And they put his armour in the house of their god, and fastened his head in the house of Dagon.
11 茲にペリシテ人がサウルになしたる事ことごとくヤベシギレアデ中に聞えければ
And when all they of Jabesh-Gilead heard of all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
12 勇士等みな起りサウルの體とその子等の體とを奪ひ取てこれをヤベシに持きたりヤベシの橡樹の下にその骨を葬りて七日のあひだ斷食せり
all the valiant men arose, and took up the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the terebinth of Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
13 斯サウルはヱホバにむかひて犯せし罪のために死たり即ち彼はヱホバの言を守らすまた憑鬼者に問ことを爲して
And Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he committed against Jehovah, because of the word of Jehovah which he kept not, and also for having inquired of the spirit of Python, asking counsel of it;
14 ヱホバに問ことをせざりしなり是をもてヱホバかれを殺しその國を移してヱツサイの子ダビデに與へたまへり
and he asked not counsel of Jehovah; therefore he slew him, and transferred the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
