Salmi 64
1 Per il Capo de’ musici. Salmo di Davide. O Dio, ascolta la mia voce nel mio lamento! Guarda la mia vita dallo spavento del nemico.
God, listen to me as I tell you the things that I am worried about. I am afraid of my enemies; so save/rescue me from them.
2 Mettimi al coperto dalle trame de’ maligni, dalla turba degli operatori d’iniquità,
Protect me from what wicked men are planning to do to me; protect me from that gang of men who do what is evil.
3 che hanno aguzzato la loro lingua come una spada e hanno scoccato come frecce le loro parole amare,
The hostile things they say [MTY] are like [SIM] [sharp] swords; their cruel words are like [SIM] arrows.
4 per colpire da luoghi nascosti l’uomo integro; lo colpiscono all’improvviso, e non hanno paura.
Without being afraid, they [lie about people and slander people] who have not done what is wrong, like someone who suddenly jumps up from where he is hiding and shoots [arrows] at his enemy [MET].
5 S’incoraggiano a vicenda in un’impresa malvagia; concertano di tender lacci di nascosto; e dicono: Chi li vedrà?
They encourage each other about doing the evil things that they are planning to do; they talk [with each other] about where they can set traps to catch people, and they think, “No one [RHQ] will see what we are doing,
6 Divisano nequizia e dicono: Abbiam compiuto il nostro divisamento. L’intimo pensiero e il cuore d’ognun di loro è un abisso.
because we have planned very well the crime that we are going to commit!” No one can fully understand what people can think and plan!
7 Ma Dio scoccherà contro di essi le sue frecce, e subito saran coperti di ferite;
But [it will be as though] God will shoot his arrows at them, and suddenly they will be wounded.
8 saranno fatti cadere; e il male fatto dalle loro lingue ricadrà su loro. Tutti quelli che li vedranno scrolleranno il capo,
Because of what they say [MTY], he will get rid of them, and then everyone who sees [what has happened to] them will shake their heads [to ridicule them].
9 e tutti gli uomini temeranno, e racconteranno l’opera di Dio, e considereranno quello ch’egli avrà fatto.
And then everyone will be afraid [to sin because of what might happen to them, also]; they will tell others what God has done, and they themselves will think much about it.
10 Il giusto si rallegrerà nell’Eterno e in lui cercherà rifugio; e tutti i diritti di cuore si glorieranno.
Righteous people should rejoice because of what Yahweh [has done]; they should go to him to (find protection/be safe); and all those who are godly will praise him.
