Salmi 146

1 Alleluia. Anima mia, loda l’Eterno.

Halleluyah ·praise Yah·! Praise Adonai, my soul.

2 Io loderò l’Eterno finché vivrò, salmeggerò al mio Dio, finché esisterò.

While I live, I will praise Adonai. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to my God as long as I exist.

3 Non confidate nei principi, né in alcun figliuol d’uomo, che non può salvare.

Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help.

4 Il suo fiato se ne va, ed egli torna alla sua terra; in quel giorno periscono i suoi disegni.

His spirit departs, and he teshuvah ·completely returns· to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish.

5 Beato colui che ha l’Iddio di Giacobbe per suo aiuto, e la cui speranza è nell’Eterno, suo Dio,

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob [Supplanter] for his help, whose hope is in Adonai, his God:

6 che ha fatto il cielo e la terra, il mare e tutto ciò ch’è in essi; che mantiene la fedeltà in eterno,

who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;

7 che fa ragione agli oppressi, che dà del cibo agli affamati. L’Eterno libera i prigionieri,

who executes mishpat ·justice· for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. Adonai frees the prisoners.

8 l’Eterno apre gli occhi ai ciechi, l’Eterno rialza gli oppressi, l’Eterno ama i giusti,

Adonai opens the eyes of the blind. Adonai raises up those who are bowed down. Adonai 'ahav ·affectionately loves· the upright.

9 l’Eterno protegge i forestieri, solleva l’orfano e la vedova, ma sovverte la via degli empi.

Adonai preserves the foreigners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.

10 L’Eterno regna in perpetuo; il tuo Dio, o Sion, regna per ogni età. Alleluia.

Adonai will reign forever; your God, O Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking], to all generations. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
