Salmi 141

1 Salmo di Davide. O Eterno io t’invoco; affrettati a rispondermi. Porgi l’orecchio alla mia voce quand’io grido a te.

A Psalm of David. O Lord, I have cried out to you, hear me. Attend to my voice, when I cry out to you.

2 La mia preghiera stia nel tuo cospetto come l’incenso, l’elevazione delle mie mani come il sacrifizio della sera.

Let my prayer be guided like incense in your sight: the lifting up of my hands, like the evening sacrifice.

3 O Eterno, poni una guardia dinanzi alla mia bocca, guarda l’uscio delle mie labbra.

O Lord, station a guard over my mouth and a door enclosing my lips.

4 Non inclinare il mio cuore ad alcuna cosa malvagia, per commettere azioni empie con gli operatori d’iniquità; e fa’ ch’io non mangi delle loro delizie.

Do not turn aside my heart to words of malice, to making excuses for sins, with men who work iniquity; and I will not communicate, even with the best of them.

5 Mi percuota pure il giusto; sarà un favore; mi riprenda pure; sarà come olio sul capo; il mio capo non lo rifiuterà; anzi malgrado la loro malvagità, continuerò a pregare.

The just one will correct me with mercy, and he will rebuke me. But do not allow the oil of the sinner to fatten my head. For my prayer will still be toward their good will.

6 I loro giudici saran precipitati per il fianco delle rocce, e si darà ascolto alle mie parole, perché sono piacevoli.

Their judges have been engulfed, joined to the rocks. They will hear my words, which have prevailed,

7 Come quando si ara e si rompe la terra, le nostre ossa sono sparse all’ingresso del soggiorno dei morti. (Sheol h7585)

as when the lava of the earth has erupted above ground. Our bones have been scattered beside Hell. (Sheol h7585)

8 Poiché a te son vòlti gli occhi miei, o Eterno, o Signore; in te mi rifugio, non abbandonare l’anima mia.

For Lord, O Lord, my eyes look to you. In you, I have hoped. Do not take away my soul.

9 Guardami dal laccio che m’hanno teso, e dagli agguati degli operatori d’iniquità.

Protect me from the snare that they have set up for me and from the scandals of those who work iniquity.

10 Cadano gli empi nelle loro proprie reti, mentre io passerò oltre.

The sinners will fall into his net. I am alone, until I pass over.
