Salmi 112

1 Alleluia. Beato l’uomo che teme l’Eterno, che si diletta grandemente nei suoi comandamenti.

Praise Yahweh! (Happy are/He is pleased with) those who revere him, those who happily obey his commands.

2 Forte sulla terra sarà la sua progenie; la generazione degli uomini retti sarà benedetta.

Their children will prosper in their land; and their descendants will be blessed [by God].

3 Abbondanza e ricchezze sono nella sua casa, e la sua giustizia dimora in perpetuo.

Their families [MTY] will be very wealthy [DOU], and [the results of] their righteous deeds will endure forever.

4 La luce si leva nelle tenebre per quelli che son retti, per chi è misericordioso, pietoso e giusto.

Godly/Righteous people are [like] lights [SIM] that shine in the darkness on those who are kind, merciful and righteous.

5 Felice l’uomo che ha compassione e presta! Egli guadagnerà la sua causa in giudizio,

Things [will] go well for those who generously lend money to others and who conduct their businesses honestly.

6 poiché non sarà mai smosso; la memoria del giusto sarà perpetua.

Righteous people will not be overwhelmed/worried/distressed [because of their troubles], and they will never be forgotten [by other people].

7 Egli non temerà alcun sinistro rumore; il suo cuore è fermo, fidente nell’Eterno.

They are not afraid of [receiving] bad news; they confidently/completely trust in Yahweh.

8 Il suo cuore è saldo, esente da timori, e alla fine vedrà sui suoi nemici quel che desidera.

They are confident and not afraid, because they know that they will see [God defeat] their enemies.

9 Egli ha sparso, ha dato ai bisognosi, la sua giustizia dimora in perpetuo, la sua potenza s’innalzerà gloriosa.

They give things generously to poor/needy [people]; [the results of] their kind deeds will endure forever, and they [will] be exalted and honored.

10 L’empio lo vedrà e ne avrà dispetto, digrignerà i denti e si struggerà; il desiderio degli empi perirà.

Wicked people see those things and are angry; they gnash their teeth [angrily], but they [will] disappear [and die]. The [wicked] things that they want to do [will] never happen.
