Salmi 108

1 Canto. Salmo di Davide. Il mio cuore è ben disposto, o Dio, io canterò e salmeggerò, e la mia gloria pure.

A Song. A Psalm by David. My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing and I will make music with my soul.

2 Destatevi, saltèro e cetra, io voglio risvegliare l’alba.

Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn.

3 Io ti celebrerò fra i popoli, o Eterno, e a te salmeggerò fra le nazioni.

I will give thanks to you, LORD, among the nations. I will sing praises to you among the peoples.

4 Perché grande al disopra de’ cieli è la tua benignità e la tua fedeltà giunge fino alle nuvole.

For your loving kindness is great above the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

5 Innalzati, o Dio, al disopra de’ cieli, risplenda su tutta la terra la tua gloria!

Be exalted, God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth.

6 Affinché i tuoi diletti sian liberati, salvaci con la tua destra e ci esaudisci.

That your beloved may be delivered, save with your right hand, and answer us.

7 Iddio ha parlato nella sua santità: Io trionferò, spartirò Sichem e misurerò la valle di Succot.

God has spoken from his sanctuary: “In triumph, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Succoth.

8 Mio è Galaad e mio è Manasse, ed Efraim è la forte difesa del mio capo; Giuda è il mio scettro.

Gilead is mine. Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is my helmet. Judah is my scepter.

9 Moab è il bacino dove mi lavo; sopra Edom getterò il mio sandalo; sulla Filistia manderò gridi di trionfo.

Moab is my wash pot. I will toss my sandal on Edom. I will shout over Philistia.”

10 Chi mi condurrà nella città forte? Chi mi menerà fino in Edom?

Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?

11 Non sarai tu, o Dio, che ci hai rigettati e non esci più, o Dio, coi nostri eserciti?

Have not you rejected us, God? You do not go out, God, with our armies.

12 Dacci aiuto per uscir dalla distretta, poiché vano è il soccorso dell’uomo.

Give us help against the enemy, for the help of man is vain.

13 Con Dio noi faremo prodezze, ed egli schiaccerà i nostri nemici.

Through God, we will do valiantly, for it is he who will tread down our enemies.
