Proverbi 11
1 La bilancia falsa è un abominio per l’Eterno, ma il peso giusto gli è grato.
A gileful balaunce is abhominacioun anentis God; and an euene weiyte is his wille.
2 Venuta la superbia, viene anche l’ignominia; ma la sapienza è con gli umili.
Where pride is, there also dispising schal be; but where meeknesse is, there also is wisdom.
3 L’integrità degli uomini retti li guida, ma la perversità dei perfidi è la loro rovina.
The simplenesse of iust men schal dresse hem; and the disseyuyng of weiward men schal destrie hem.
4 Le ricchezze non servono a nulla nel giorno dell’ira, ma la giustizia salva da morte.
Richessis schulen not profite in the dai of veniaunce; but riytfulnesse schal delyuere fro deth.
5 La giustizia dell’uomo integro gli appiana la via, ma l’empio cade per la sua empietà.
The riytfulnesse of a simple man schal dresse his weie; and a wickid man schal falle in his wickidnesse.
6 La giustizia degli uomini retti li libera, ma i perfidi restan presi nella loro propria malizia.
The riytfulnesse of riytful men schal delyuere hem; and wickid men schulen be takun in her aspiyngis.
7 Quando un empio muore, la sua speranza perisce, e l’aspettazione degl’iniqui e annientata.
Whanne a wickid man is deed, noon hope schal be ferther; and abidyng of bisy men schal perische.
8 Il giusto è tratto fuor dalla distretta, e l’empio ne prende il posto.
A iust man is delyuered from angwisch; and a wickid man schal be youun for hym.
9 Con la sua bocca l’ipocrita rovina il suo prossimo, ma i giusti sono liberati dalla loro perspicacia.
A feynere bi mouth disseyueth his freend; but iust men schulen be deliuered bi kunnyng.
10 Quando i giusti prosperano, la città gioisce; ma quando periscono gli empi son gridi di giubilo.
A citee schal be enhaunsid in the goodis of iust men; and preysyng schal be in the perdicioun of wickid men.
11 Per la benedizione degli uomini retti la città è esaltata, ma è sovvertita dalla bocca degli empi.
A citee schal be enhaunsid bi blessing of iust men; and it schal be distried bi the mouth of wickid men.
12 Chi sprezza il prossimo è privo di senno, ma l’uomo accorto tace.
He that dispisith his freend, is nedi in herte; but a prudent man schal be stille.
13 Chi va sparlando svela i segreti, ma chi ha lo spirito leale tien celata la cosa.
He that goith gilefuli, schewith priuetees; but he that is feithful, helith the priuetee of a freend.
14 Quando manca una savia direzione il popolo cade; nel gran numero de’ consiglieri sta la salvezza.
Where a gouernour is not, the puple schal falle; but helthe `of the puple is, where ben many counsels.
15 Chi si fa mallevadore d’un altro ne soffre danno, ma chi odia la mallevadoria è sicuro.
He that makith feith for a straunger, schal be turmentid with yuel; but he that eschewith snaris, schal be sikur.
16 La donna graziosa ottiene la gloria, e gli uomini forti ottengon la ricchezza.
A graciouse womman schal fynde glorie; and stronge men schulen haue richessis.
17 L’uomo benigno fa del bene a se stesso, ma il crudele tortura la sua propria carne.
A merciful man doith wel to his soule; but he that is cruel, castith awei, yhe, kynnesmen.
18 L’empio fa un’opera fallace, ma chi semina giustizia ha una ricompensa sicura.
A wickid man makith vnstable werk; but feithful mede is to hym, that sowith riytfulnesse.
19 Così la giustizia mena alla vita, ma chi va dietro al male s’incammina alla morte.
Merci schal make redi lijf; and the suyng of yuels `schal make redi deth.
20 I perversi di cuore sono un abominio per l’Eterno, ma gl’integri nella loro condotta gli sono graditi.
A schrewid herte is abhomynable to the Lord; and his wille is in hem, that goen symply.
21 No, certo, il malvagio non rimarrà impunito, ma la progenie dei giusti scamperà.
Thouy hond be in the hond, an yuel man schal not be innocent; but the seed of iust men schal be sauyd.
22 Una donna bella, ma senza giudizio, è un anello d’oro nel grifo d’un porco.
A goldun `sercle, ether ryng, in the `nose thrillis of a sowe, a womman fair and fool.
23 Il desiderio dei giusti è il bene soltanto, ma la prospettiva degli empi e l’ira.
The desir of iust men is al good; abiding of wickid men is woodnesse.
24 C’è chi spande liberalmente e diventa più ricco, e c’è chi risparmia più del dovere e non fa che impoverire.
Sum men departen her owne thingis, and ben maad richere; other men rauyschen thingis, that ben not hern, and ben euere in nedynesse.
25 L’anima benefica sarà nell’abbondanza, e chi annaffia sarà egli pure annaffiato.
A soule that blessith, schal be maad fat; and he that fillith, schal be fillid also.
26 Chi detiene il grano è maledetto dal popolo, ma la benedizione è sul capo di chi lo vende.
He that hidith wheete `in tyme, schal be cursid among the puplis; but blessyng schal come on the heed of silleris.
27 Chi procaccia il bene s’attira benevolenza, ma chi cerca il male, male gl’incoglierà.
Wel he risith eerli, that sekith good thingis; but he that is a serchere of yuels, schal be oppressid of tho.
28 Chi confida nelle sue ricchezze cadrà, ma i giusti rinverdiranno a guisa di fronde.
He that tristith in hise richessis, schal falle; but iust men schulen buriowne as a greene leef.
29 Chi getta lo scompiglio in casa sua erediterà vento, e lo stolto sarà lo schiavo di chi ha il cuor savio.
He that disturblith his hows, schal haue wyndis in possessioun; and he that is a fool, schal serue a wijs man.
30 Il frutto del giusto è un albero di vita, e il savio fa conquista d’anime.
The fruyt of a riytful man is the tre of lijf; and he that takith soulis, is a wijs man.
31 Ecco, il giusto riceve la sua retribuzione sulla terra, quanto più l’empio e il peccatore!
If a iust man receyueth in erthe, how miche more an vnfeithful man, and synnere.
