Lamentazioni 3
1 Io sono un uomo che ha veduto l’afflizione sotto la verga del suo furore.
I [, the one who am writing this, ] am a man who has been afflicted/punished [MTY] by Yahweh because he was angry.
2 Egli m’ha condotto, m’ha fatto camminare nelle tenebre e non nella luce.
[It was as though] he caused me to walk in a very dark place without any light [at all].
3 Sì, contro di me di nuovo volge la sua mano tutto il giorno.
He has punished [IDM] me many times, all day, [every] day.
4 Egli ha consunta la mia carne e la mia pelle, ha fiaccato le mie ossa.
He has caused my skin and my flesh to become old. He has broken my bones.
5 Ha costituito una cinta contro di me, m’ha circondato d’amarezza e d’affanno.
He has surrounded me [DOU] with bitterness and suffering.
6 M’ha fatto abitare in luoghi tenebrosi, come quelli che son morti da lungo tempo.
[It is as though] he has buried me in a dark place like [SIM] [the graves of] those who have been dead for a long time.
7 Egli m’ha circondato d’un muro, perché non esca: m’ha caricato di pesanti catene.
[It is as though] [MET] he has built a wall around me, and fastened/tied me with heavy chains, and I cannot escape.
8 Anche quando grido e chiamo al soccorso, egli chiude l’accesso alla mia preghiera.
Although I call out and cry out for him to help me, he does not pay attention to my prayers.
9 Egli m’ha sbarrato la via di blocchi di pietra, ha sconvolti i miei sentieri.
[It is as though] he has blocked my path with a [high] stone [wall] and has caused my path to become crooked.
10 Egli è stato per me come un orso in agguato, come un leone in luoghi nascosti.
He has waited to attack me like [SIM] a bear or a lion hides and waits [to attack other animals].
11 Egli m’ha sviato dal mio cammino e m’ha squarciato, m’ha reso desolato.
[It is as though] he has dragged me off the path and (mauled me/torn me into pieces), and left me without help.
12 Ha teso il suo arco, m’ha preso come mira delle sue frecce.
[It is as though] [MET] he bent his bow and caused me to become the target [at which he shot] his arrows.
13 M’ha fatto penetrar nelle reni le saette del suo turcasso.
[It is as though] he shot his arrows deep into my body.
14 Io son diventato lo scherno di tutto il mio popolo, la sua canzone di tutto il giorno.
All my relatives laugh at me; all day, [every] day they sing songs that make fun of me.
15 Egli m’ha saziato d’amarezza, m’ha abbeverato d’assenzio.
He has filled me with (bitterness/great suffering), [like] [MET] someone who drinks a very bitter liquid suffers.
16 M’ha spezzato i denti con della ghiaia, m’ha affondato nella cenere.
[It is as though] he has caused me to chew gravel that broke my teeth, and he has trampled me in the dirt.
17 Tu hai allontanata l’anima mia dalla pace, io ho dimenticato il benessere.
Things no longer go well for me; I no longer remember being prosperous.
18 Io ho detto: “E’ sparita la mia fiducia, non ho più speranza nell’Eterno!”
I [continued to] say [to myself], “I no longer expect to live much longer; I no longer confidently expect [to receive good things] from Yahweh!”
19 Ricordati della mia afflizione, della mia vita raminga, dell’assenzio e dell’amarezza!
When I think about my suffering and my wandering [away from home], [it is like drinking] a very bitter [DOU] liquid.
20 L’anima mia se ne ricorda del continuo, e n’è abbattuta dentro di me.
I will never forget this time when I feel very depressed/discouraged [IDM].
21 Questo voglio richiamarmi alla mente, per questo voglio sperare:
However, I confidently expect [Yahweh to do good things for me again] when I think about this:
22 E’ una grazia dell’Eterno che non siamo stati interamente distrutti; poiché le sue compassioni non sono esaurite;
Yahweh never stops faithfully loving [us], and he never stops being kind to us.
23 si rinnovano ogni mattina. Grande è la tua fedeltà!
[He is the one whom we can] always trust/lean on. Every morning he is merciful [to us again].
24 “L’Eterno è la mia parte”, dice l’anima mia, “perciò spererò in lui”.
[So] I say to myself, “Yahweh is all that I need; so I will confidently wait for him [to do good things for me].”
25 L’Eterno è buono per quelli che sperano in lui, per l’anima che lo cerca.
Yahweh is good to [all] those who depend on him, to those who seek his [help].
26 Buona cosa è aspettare in silenzio la salvezza dell’Eterno.
[So] it is good for us to wait quietly for Yahweh to save/rescue [us].
27 Buona cosa è per l’uomo portare il giogo nella sua giovinezza.
And it is good for us to [patiently] endure [suffering] while we are young.
28 Si segga egli solitario e stia in silenzio quando l’Eterno glielo impone!
Those [who seek his help] should sit by themselves, silently, [knowing that] it is Yahweh who has allowed/caused them to suffer.
29 Metta la sua bocca nella polvere! forse, v’è ancora speranza.
They should lie in the dirt, with their faces on the ground, [because] they can still hope [that Yahweh will help them].
30 Porga la guancia a chi lo percuote, si sazi pure di vituperio!
If someone strikes us on one cheek, we should turn the other cheek toward that person [in order that he may strike it, too], and accept/endure it when we are insulted.
31 Poiché il Signore non ripudia in perpetuo;
Yahweh does not abandon [us his people] forever.
32 ma, se affligge, ha altresì compassione, secondo la moltitudine delle sue benignità;
Sometimes he causes us to suffer, but sometimes he is kind [to us] because he continually and faithfully loves [us].
33 giacché non è volentieri ch’egli umilia ed affligge i figliuoli degli uomini.
And he is not happy about causing human beings to suffer or to be sad.
34 Quand’uno schiaccia sotto i piedi tutti i prigionieri della terra,
If people (mistreat all the prisoners/crush all the prisoners under their feet)
35 quand’uno perverte il diritto d’un uomo nel cospetto dell’Altissimo,
or if they rebel against God by refusing to give to people the things that it is right for them [to receive],
36 quando si fa torto ad alcuno nella sua causa, il Signore non lo vede egli?
or if they cause judges to decide matters unjustly, (does Yahweh not see all those things?/Yahweh certainly sees all those things!) [RHQ]
37 Chi mai dice una cosa che s’avveri, se il Signore non l’ha comandato?
No one can [RHQ] command something to happen [and then cause it to happen] if Yahweh has not already decided that it should happen.
38 Il male ed il bene non procedon essi dalla bocca dell’Altissimo?
God in heaven [MTY] is [RHQ] the one who causes disasters to happen, and he [also] causes good things to happen.
39 Perché il vivente si rammaricherebbe? Ognuno si rammarichi del proprio peccato!
[So] it is certainly not [RHQ] right for us, who are only humans, to complain when he punishes us for the sins that we have committed.
40 Esaminiamo le nostre vie, scrutiamole, e torniamo all’Eterno!
Instead, we should (examine/think carefully about) our behavior; we should turn back to Yahweh.
41 Eleviamo insiem con le mani, i nostri cuori a Dio ne’ cieli!
We should pray [IDM] sincerely and lift up our arms toward God in heaven, [and say, ]
42 Noi abbiam peccato, siamo stati ribelli, e tu non hai perdonato.
“We have sinned and rebelled [against you], and you have not forgiven [us].
43 Tu ti sei avvolto nella tua ira, e ci hai inseguiti; tu hai ucciso senza pietà;
You have surrounded us with your anger and pursued us; you have slaughtered [us] without pitying us.
44 ti sei avvolto in una nuvola, perché la preghiera non potesse passare;
You have hidden yourself in a cloud, with the result that you do not hear [us] when we pray.
45 tu hai fatto di noi delle spazzature, dei rifiuti, in mezzo ai popoli.
You have caused [the people of other] nations to consider us to be only garbage [DOU].
46 Tutti i nostri nemici aprono larga la bocca contro di noi.
All our enemies have insulted us.
47 Ci son toccati il terrore, la fossa, la desolazione e la ruina.
We are constantly afraid [DOU], [because] we have experienced disasters and ruin [DOU].”
48 I miei occhi si sciolgono in rivi d’acqua, a motivo della ruina della figliuola del mio popolo.
I cry a lot because my people have been destroyed.
49 L’occhio mio si scioglie in lacrime, senza posa, senza intermittenza,
My tears continually flow; they will not stop
50 finché dal cielo l’Eterno non guardi e non veda il nostro stato.
until Yahweh looks down from heaven and sees [us].
51 L’occhio mio m’affanna l’anima a motivo di tutte le figliuole della mia città.
I am very grieved because of [what has happened to] the women of my city.
52 Quelli che mi son nemici senza cagione, m’han dato la caccia come a un uccello.
Those who are my enemies hunted for me like [SIM] [people hunt for] a bird [to kill it] [even though] there was no reason [for them to do that].
53 M’hanno annientato la vita nella fossa, m’han gettato delle pietre addosso.
They threw me into a pit to kill me, and they threw stones on top of me.
54 Le acque salivano fin sopra al mio capo, io dicevo: “E’ finita per me!”
The water [in the pit] rose above my head, and I said [to myself], “I am about to die/drown!”
55 Io ho invocato il tuo nome, o Eterno, dal fondo della fossa;
But from the bottom of the pit I cried out to you [MTY], “Yahweh, [help me]!”
56 tu hai udito la mia voce; non nascondere il tuo orecchio al mio sospiro, al mio grido!
I pleaded with you, “Do not refuse to heed [MTY] me while I cry out to you!”
57 Nel giorno ch’io t’ho invocato ti sei avvicinato; tu hai detto: “Non temere!”
Then you answered me and said, “Do not be afraid!”
58 O Signore, tu hai difesa la causa dell’anima mia, tu hai redento la mia vita.
Yahweh, you defended me; you did not allow me to die.
59 O Eterno, tu vedi il torto che m’è fatto, giudica tu la mia causa!
[Now], Yahweh, you have seen the evil things that my enemies have done to me, [so] decide my case [and show that I am right]!
60 Tu vedi tutto il loro rancore, tutte le loro macchinazioni contro di me.
You know the evil things that they have planned to do to me.
61 Tu odi i loro oltraggi, o Eterno, tutte le loro macchinazioni contro di me,
Yahweh, you have heard them insult [me] and what they have planned to do to me.
62 il linguaggio di quelli che si levano contro di me, quello che meditano contro di me tutto il giorno!
Every day they whisper and mutter things about me, all day long.
63 Guarda! quando si seggono, quando s’alzano, io sono la loro canzone.
Look at them! Whether they are standing or sitting they make fun of me with the songs that they sing.
64 Tu li retribuirai, o Eterno, secondo l’opera delle loro mani.
Yahweh, cause them to suffer in return for their causing [me] to suffer!
65 Darai loro induramento di cuore, la tua maledizione.
Curse them [IDM] [for] their being very stubborn [IDM].
66 Li inseguirai nella tua ira, e li sterminerai di sotto i cieli dell’Eterno.
Because you are angry with them, pursue them and get rid of them, [until none of them remain] on the earth.
