Giosué 21
1 Or i capi famiglia de’ Leviti si accostarono al sacerdote Eleazar, a Giosuè figliuolo di Nun e ai capi famiglia delle tribù dei figliuoli d’Israele,
Then came near the heads of the divisions of the Levites unto Elazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the divisions of the tribes of the children of Israel;
2 e parlaron loro a Sciloh, nel paese di Canaan, dicendo: “L’Eterno comandò, per mezzo di Mosè, che ci fossero date delle città da abitare, coi loro contadi per il nostro bestiame”.
And they spoke unto them at Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, saying, The Lord commanded by the hand of Moses to give unto us cities to dwell in, with the open spaces thereof for our cattle.
3 E i figliuoli d’Israele diedero, della loro eredità, ai Leviti le seguenti città coi loro contadi, secondo il comandamento dell’Eterno.
And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites from their inheritance, at the order of the Lord, these cities and their open spaces.
4 Si tirò a sorte per le famiglie dei Kehatiti; e i figliuoli del sacerdote Aaronne, ch’erano Leviti, ebbero a sorte tredici città della tribù di Giuda, della tribù di Simeone e della tribù di Beniamino.
And the lot came out for the families of the Kehathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, obtained from the tribe of Judah, and from the tribe of Simeon, and from the tribe of Benjamin, by lot, thirteen cities.
5 Al resto de’ figliuoli di Kehath toccarono a sorte dieci città delle famiglie della tribù di Efraim, della tribù di Dan e della mezza tribù di Manasse.
And the rest of the children of Kehath obtained from the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and from the tribe of Dan, and from the half tribe of Menasseh, by lot, ten cities.
6 Ai figliuoli di Gherson toccarono a sorte tredici città delle famiglie della tribù d’Issacar, della tribù di Ascer, della tribù di Neftali e della mezza tribù di Manasse in Basan.
And the children of Gershon obtained from the families of the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribe of Asher, and from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the half tribe of Menasseh in Bashan, by lot, thirteen cities.
7 Ai figliuoli di Merari, secondo le loro famiglie, toccarono dodici città della tribù di Ruben, della tribù di Gad e della tribù di Zabulon.
The children of Merari after their families obtained from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
8 I figliuoli d’Israele diedero dunque a sorte, coteste città coi loro contadi ai Leviti, come l’Eterno avea comandato per mezzo di Mosè.
And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites these cities with their open spaces, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, by lot.
9 Diedero cioè, della tribù dei figliuoli di Giuda e della tribù de’ figliuoli di Simeone, le città qui menzionate per nome,
And they gave from the tribe of the children of Judah, and from the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are called by name.
10 le quali toccarono ai figliuoli d’Aaronne di tra le famiglie dei Kehatiti, figliuoli di Levi, perché il primo lotto fu per loro.
And the children of Aaron, of the families of the Kehathites, of the children of Levi, obtained them; —for they had the first lot.
11 Furono dunque date loro Kiriath-Arba, cioè Hebron, (Arba fu padre di Anak), nella contrada montuosa di Giuda, col suo contado tutt’intorno;
And they gave unto them Kiryath-arba', [the father of 'Anak, ] which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah, with the open spaces thereof round about it;
12 ma diedero il territorio della città e i suoi villaggi come possesso a Caleb, figliuolo di Gefunne.
But the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Yephunneh for his possession.
13 E diedero ai figliuoli del sacerdote Aaronne la città di rifugio per l’omicida, Hebron e il suo contado; poi Libna e il suo contado,
And to the children of Aaron the priest they gave the city of refuge for the manslayer, Hebron with its open spaces, and Libnah with its open spaces,
14 Iattir e il suo contado, Eshtemoa e il suo contado,
And Yattir with its open spaces, and Eshtemoa' with its open spaces.
15 Holon e il suo contado, Debir e il suo contado,
And Cholon with its open spaces, and Debir with its open spaces,
16 Ain e il suo contado, Iutta e il suo contado, e Beth-Scemesh e il suo contado: nove città di queste due tribù.
And 'Ayin with its open spaces, and Yuttah with its open spaces, and Beth-shemesh with its open spaces: nine cities from those two tribes.
17 E della tribù di Beniamino, Gabaon e il suo contado, Gheba e il suo contado,
And from the tribe of Benjamin, Gib'on with its open spaces, Geba' with its open spaces,
18 Anatoth e il suo contado, e Almon e il suo contado: quattro città.
'Anathoth with its open spaces, and 'Almon with its open spaces: four cities.
19 Totale delle città dei sacerdoti figliuoli d’Aaronne: tredici città e i loro contadi.
All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their open spaces.
20 Alle famiglie dei figliuoli di Kehath, cioè al rimanente dei Leviti, figliuoli di Kehath, toccarono delle città della tribù di Efraim.
And the families of the children of Kehath, the Levites, who remained of the children of Kehath, obtained the cities of their lot from the tribe of Ephraim.
21 Fu loro data la città di rifugio per l’omicida, Sichem col suo contado nella contrada montuosa di Efraim; poi Ghezer e il suo contado,
And they gave to them the city of refuge for the manslayer, Shechem with its open spaces in the mountain of Ephraim, and Gezer with its open spaces,
22 Kibetsaim e il suo contado, e Beth-Horon e il suo contado: quattro città.
And Kibzayim with its open spaces, and Beth-choron with its open spaces: four cities.
23 Della tribù di Dan: Elteke e il suo contado, Ghibbethon e il suo contado,
And from the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its open spaces, Gibbethon with its open spaces,
24 Aialon e il suo contado, Gath-Rimmon e il suo contado: quattro città.
Ayalon with its open spaces, Gath-rimmon with its open spaces: four cities.
25 Della mezza tribù di Manasse: Taanac e il suo contado, Gath-Rimmon e il suo contado: due città.
And from the half tribe of Menasseh, Ta'nach with its open spaces, and Gath-rimmon with its open spaces: two cities.
26 Totale: dieci città coi loro contadi, che toccarono alle famiglie degli altri figliuoli di Kehath.
All the cities were ten with their open spaces for the families of the children of Kehath that remained.
27 Ai figliuoli di Gherson, che erano delle famiglie de’ Leviti, furon date: della mezza tribù di Manasse, la città di rifugio per l’omicida, Golan in Basan e il suo contado, e Beeshtra col suo contado: due città;
And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, [they gave] from the other half tribe of Menasseh the city of refuge for the manslayer, Golan in Bashan with its open spaces, and Be'eshterah with its open spaces: two cities.
28 della tribù d’Issacar, Kiscion e il suo contado, Dabrath e il suo contado,
And from the tribe of Issachar, Kishyon with its open spaces, Daberath with its open spaces,
29 Iarmuth e il suo contado, En-Gannim e il suo contado: quattro città;
Yarmuth with its open spaces, 'En-gannim with its open spaces: four cities.
30 della tribù di Ascer, Misceal e il suo contado, Abdon e il suo contado,
And from the tribe of Asher, Mishal with its open spaces, Abdon with its open spaces.
31 Helkath e il suo contado, e Rehob e il suo contado: quattro città;
Chelkath with its open spaces, and Rechob with its open spaces: four cities.
32 e della tribù di Neftali, la città di rifugio per l’omicida, Kedes in Galilea e il suo contado, Hammoth-Dor e il suo contado, e Kartan col suo contado: tre città.
And from the tribe of Naphtali, the city of refuge for the manslayer, Kedesh in Galilee with its open spaces, and Chammothdor with its open spaces, and Karthan with its open spaces: three cities.
33 Totale delle città dei Ghersoniti, secondo le loro famiglie: tredici città e i loro contadi.
All the cities of the Gershunites according to their families were thirteen cities with their open spaces.
34 E alle famiglie de’ figliuoli di Merari, cioè al rimanente de’ Leviti, furon date: della tribù di Zabulon, Iokneam e il suo contado, Karta e il suo contado,
And unto the families of the children of Merari, the remainder of the Levites, [they gave] from the tribe of Zebulun, Yokne'am with its open spaces, and Karthah with its open spaces,
35 Dimna e il suo contado, e Nahalal col suo contado: quattro città;
Dimnah with its open spaces, Nahalal with its open spaces: four cities.
36 della tribù di Ruben, Betser e il suo contado, Iahtsa e il suo contado,
37 Kedemoth e il suo contado e Mefaath e il suo contado: quattro città;
38 e della tribù di Gad, la città di rifugio per l’omicida, Ramoth in Galaad e il suo contado, Mahanaim e il suo contado,
And from the tribe of Gad, the city of refuge for the manslayer, Ramoth in Gil'ad with its open spaces, and Machanayim with its open spaces,
39 Heshbon e il suo contado, e Iaezer col suo contado: in tutto quattro città.
Cheshbon with its open spaces, Ya'zer with its open spaces: four cities in all.
40 Totale delle città date a sorte ai figliuoli di Merari, secondo le loro famiglie formanti il resto delle famiglie dei Leviti: dodici città.
All the cities for the children of Merari after their families, they who were remaining of the families of the Levites, even their lot was twelve cities.
41 Totale delle città dei Leviti in mezzo ai possessi de’ figliuoli d’Israele: quarantotto città e i loro contadi.
All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their open spaces.
42 Ciascuna di queste città aveva il suo contado tutt’intorno; così era di tutte queste città.
These cities were every one with their open spaces round about them: thus it was with all these cities.
43 L’Eterno diede dunque a Israele tutto il paese che avea giurato ai padri di dar loro, e i figliuoli d’Israele ne presero possesso, e vi si stanziarono.
And the Lord gave unto Israel all the land which he had sworn to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
44 E l’Eterno diede loro requie d’ogn’intorno, come avea giurato ai loro padri; nessuno di tutti i lor nemici poté star loro a fronte; l’Eterno diede loro nelle mani tutti quei nemici.
And the Lord gave them rest round about, all just as he had sworn unto their fathers: and there stood not up before them a man of all their enemies; all their enemies the Lord delivered into their hand.
45 Di tutte le buone parole che l’Eterno avea dette alla casa d’Israele non una cadde a terra: tutte si compierono.
There failed not aught of all the good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel: it all came to pass.
