Giobbe 32
1 Quei tre uomini cessarono di rispondere a Giobbe perché egli si credeva giusto.
So these three men ceased to answere Iob, because he esteemed himselfe iust.
2 Allora l’ira di Elihu, figliuolo di Barakeel il Buzita, della tribù di Ram, s’accese:
Then the wrath of Elihu the sonne of Barachel the Buzite, of the familie of Ram, was kindled: his wrath, I say, was kindled against Iob, because he iustified himselfe more then God.
3 s’accese contro Giobbe, perché riteneva giusto sé stesso anziché Dio; s’accese anche contro i tre amici di lui perché non avean trovato che rispondere, sebbene condannassero Giobbe.
Also his anger was kindled against his three friends, because they could not finde an answere, and yet condemned Iob.
4 Ora, siccome quelli erano più attempati di lui,
(Now Elihu had wayted til Iob had spoken: for they were more ancient in yeeres then he)
5 Elihu aveva aspettato a parlare a Giobbe; ma quando vide che dalla bocca di quei tre uomini non usciva più risposta, s’accese d’ira.
So when Elihu saw, that there was none answere in the mouth of the three men, his wrath was kindled.
6 Ed Elihu, figliuolo di Barakeel il Buzita, rispose e disse: “Io son giovine d’età e voi siete vecchi; perciò mi son tenuto indietro e non ho ardito esporvi il mio pensiero.
Therefore Elihu the sonne of Barachel, the Buzite answered, and sayd, I am yong in yeres, and ye are ancient: therefore I doubted, and was afraide to shewe you mine opinion.
7 Dicevo: “Parleranno i giorni, e il gran numero degli anni insegnerà la sapienza”.
For I said, The dayes shall speake, and the multitude of yeeres shall teach wisedome.
8 Ma, nell’uomo, quel che lo rende intelligente è lo spirito, è il soffio dell’Onnipotente.
Surely there is a spirite in man, but the inspiration of the Almightie giueth vnderstanding.
9 Non quelli di lunga età sono sapienti, né i vecchi son quelli che comprendono il giusto.
Great men are not alway wise, neither doe the aged alway vnderstand iudgement.
10 Perciò dico: “Ascoltatemi; vi esporrò anch’io il mio pensiero”.
Therefore I say, Heare me, and I will shew also mine opinion.
11 Ecco, ho aspettato i vostri discorsi, ho ascoltato i vostri argomenti, mentre andavate cercando altre parole.
Behold, I did waite vpon your wordes, and hearkened vnto your knowledge, whiles you sought out reasons.
12 V’ho seguito attentamente, ed ecco, nessun di voi ha convinto Giobbe, nessuno ha risposto alle sue parole.
Yea, when I had considered you, lo, there was none of you that reproued Iob, nor answered his wordes:
13 Non avete dunque ragione di dire: “Abbiam trovato la sapienza! Dio soltanto lo farà cedere; non l’uomo!”
Lest ye should say, We haue found wisedome: for God hath cast him downe, and no man.
14 Egli non ha diretto i suoi discorsi contro a me, ed io non gli risponderò colle vostre parole.
Yet hath he not directed his words to me, neyther will I answere him by your wordes.
15 Eccoli sconcertati! non rispondon più, non trovan più parole.
Then they fearing, answered no more, but left off their talke.
16 Ed ho aspettato che non parlassero più, che restassero e non rispondessero più.
When I had wayted (for they spake not, but stood still and answered no more)
17 Ma ora risponderò anch’io per mio conto, esporrò anch’io il mio pensiero!
Then answered I in my turne, and I shewed mine opinion.
18 Perché son pieno di parole, e lo spirito ch’è dentro di me mi stimola.
For I am full of matter, and the spirite within me compelleth me.
19 Ecco, il mio seno è come vin rinchiuso, è simile ad otri pieni di vin nuovo, che stanno per scoppiare.
Beholde, my belly is as the wine, which hath no vent, and like the new bottels that brast.
20 Parlerò dunque e mi solleverò, aprirò le labbra e risponderò!
Therefore will I speake, that I may take breath: I will open my lippes, and will answere.
21 E lasciate ch’io parli senza riguardi personali, senza adulare alcuno;
I will not now accept the person of man, neyther will I giue titles to man.
22 poiché adulare io non so; se lo facessi, il mio Fattore tosto mi torrebbe di mezzo.
For I may not giue titles, lest my Maker should take me away suddenly.
