Isaia 62

1 Per amor di Sion io non mi tacerò, e per amor di Gerusalemme io non mi darò posa finché la sua giustizia non apparisca come l’aurora, e la sua salvezza, come una face ardente.

For the sake of Zion will I not be silent, and for the sake of Jerusalem will I not be quiet; until its righteousness go forth as the brightness [of light], and its salvation as a burning torch.

2 Allora le nazioni vedranno la tua giustizia, e tutti i re, la tua gloria; e sarai chiamata con un nome nuovo, che la bocca dell’Eterno fisserà;

And nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory; and men shall call thee by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall pronounce.

3 e sarai una splendida corona in mano all’Eterno, un diadema regale nella palma del tuo Dio.

And thou shalt be a crown of ornament in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

4 Non ti si dirà più “Abbandonata”, la tua terra non sarà più detta “Desolazione”, ma tu sarai chiamata “La mia delizia è in lei”, e la tua terra “Maritata”; poiché l’Eterno riporrà in te il suo diletto, e la tua terra avrà uno sposo.

Thou shalt not be termed any more “Forsaken,” and thy land shall not be termed any more “Desolate;” for thou shalt be called “My delight in her” [[Chephzi-bah]], and thy land “Espoused” [[Be'ulah]]; for the Lord will have delight in thee, and thy land shall be espoused.

5 Come una giovine sposa una vergine, così i tuoi figliuoli sposeranno te; e come la sposa è la gioia della sposo, così tu sarai la gioia del tuo Dio.

For as a young man espouseth a virgin, so shall thy sons espouse thee; and as the bridegroom is glad over the bride, so will be glad over thee thy God.

6 Sulle tue mura, o Gerusalemme, io ho posto delle sentinelle, che non si taceranno mai, né giorno né notte: “O voi che destate il ricordo dell’Eterno, non abbiate requie,

Over thy walls, O Jerusalem, have I appointed watchmen, all the day and all the night, continually, shall they not be silent: ye that make mention of the Lord, take ye no rest.

7 e non date requie a lui, finch’egli non abbia ristabilito Gerusalemme, e n’abbia fatta la lode di tutta la terra”.

And give him no rest, until he have established, and until he have set up Jerusalem as a praise on the earth.

8 L’Eterno l’ha giurato per la sua destra e pel suo braccio potente: Io non darò mai più il tuo frumento per cibo ai tuoi nemici; e i figli dello straniero non berranno più il tuo vino, frutto delle tue fatiche;

Sworn hath the Lord by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, I will not give thy corn any more as food for thy enemies, and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy young wine for which thou hast labored;

9 ma quelli che avranno raccolto il frumento lo mangeranno e loderanno l’Eterno, e quelli che avran vendemmiato berranno il vino nei cortili del mio santuario.

But they who gather it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and they who bring it together shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.

10 Passate, passate per le porte! Preparate la via per il popolo! Acconciate, acconciate la strada, toglietene le pietre, alzate una bandiera dinanzi ai popoli!

Pass, pass through the gates, make clear the way of the people, cast up, cast up the highway, remove away the stones, lift up a banner over the nations.

11 Ecco, l’Eterno proclama fino agli estremi confini della terra: “Dite alla figliuola di Sion: Ecco, la tua salvezza giunge; ecco egli ha seco il suo salario, e la sua retribuzione lo precede”.

Behold, the Lord hath caused to be heard unto the ends of the earth, “Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.”

12 Quelli saran chiamati “Il popolo santo”, “I redenti dell’Eterno”, e tu sarai chiamata “Ricercata”, “La città non abbandonata”.

And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord; and thou shalt be called, Sought for, [[Derusha, ]] The city never forsaken.
