1 Poi Giacobbe si mise in cammino e andò nel paese degli Orientali.
Then Iacob lyfte vp his fete and wet toward the east countre.
2 E guardò, e vide un pozzo in un campo; ed ecco tre greggi di pecore, giacenti lì presso; poiché a quel pozzo si abbeveravano i greggi; e la pietra sulla bocca del pozzo era grande.
And as he loked aboute behold there was a well in the feld and. iij. flockes of shepe laye therby (for at that well were the flockes watered) and there laye a great stone at the well mouth
3 Quivi s’adunavano tutti i greggi; i pastori rotolavan la pietra di sulla bocca del pozzo, abbeveravano le pecore, poi rimettevano al posto la pietra sulla bocca del pozzo.
And the maner was to brynge the flockes thyther and to roull the stone fro the welles mouth and to water the shepe and to put the stone agayne vppon the wells mouth vnto his place.
4 E Giacobbe disse ai pastori: “Fratelli miei, di dove siete?” E quelli risposero: “Siamo di Charan”.
And Iacob sayde vnto the: brethern whece be ye? and they sayde: of Haran ar we.
5 Ed egli disse loro: “Conoscete voi Labano, figliuolo di Nahor?” Ed essi: “Lo conosciamo”.
And he sayde vnto the: knowe ye Laban the sonne of Nahor. And they sayde: we knowe him.
6 Ed egli disse loro: “Sta egli bene?” E quelli: “Sta bene; ed ecco Rachele, sua figliuola, che viene con le pecore”.
And he sayde vnto the: is he in good health? And they sayde: he is in good health: and boholde his doughter Rahel cometh with ye shepe.
7 Ed egli disse: “Ecco, è ancora pieno giorno, e non è tempo di radunare il bestiame; abbeverate le pecore e menatele al pascolo”.
And he sayde: lo it is yet a great whyle to nyghte nether is it tyme yt the catell shulde be gathered together: water the shepe and goo and fede the.
8 E quelli risposero: “Non possiamo, finché tutti i greggi siano radunati; allora si rotola la pietra di sulla bocca del pozzo, e abbeveriamo le pecore”.
And they sayde: we maye not vntill all ye flockes be brought together and the stone be roulled fro the wells mouth and so we water oure shepe.
9 Mentr’egli parlava ancora con loro, giunse Rachele con le pecore di suo padre; poich’ella era pastora.
Whyle he yet talked with the Rahel came with hir fathers shepe for she kepte them.
10 E quando Giacobbe vide Rachele figliuola di Labano, fratello di sua madre, e le pecore di Labano fratello di sua madre, s’avvicinò, rotolò la pietra di sulla bocca del pozzo, e abbeverò il gregge di Labano fratello di sua madre.
As soone As Iacob sawe Rahel the doughter of Laban his mothers brother and the shepe of Laban his mothers brother he went and rowled the stone fro the wells mouth and watered the shepe of Laba his mothers brother
11 E Giacobbe baciò Rachele, alzò la voce, e pianse.
And Iacob kyssed Rahel and lyfte vp his voyce and wepte:
12 E Giacobbe fe’ sapere a Rachele ch’egli era parente del padre di lei, e ch’era figliuolo di Rebecca. Ed ella corse a dirlo a suo padre.
and tolde her also yt he was hir fathers brother and Rebeccas sonne. The Rahel ranne and tolde hir father.
13 E appena Labano ebbe udito le notizie di Giacobbe figliuolo della sua sorella, gli corse incontro, l’abbracciò, lo baciò, e lo menò a casa sua. Giacobbe raccontò a Labano tutte queste cose;
When Laban herd tell of Iacob his sisters sonne he ranne agaynst him and embraced hi and kyssed him ad broughte him in to his house. And the Iacob told Laba all ye matter
14 e Labano gli disse: “Tu sei proprio mie ossa e mia carne!” Ed egli dimorò con lui durante un mese.
And the Laba sayde: well thou art my bone and my flesh. Abyde with me the space of a moneth.
15 Poi Labano disse a Giacobbe: “Perché sei mio parente dovrai tu servirmi per nulla? Dimmi quale dev’essere il tuo salario”.
And afterward Laban sayd vnto Iacob: though thou be my brother shuldest thou therfore serue me for nought? tell me what shall thi wages be?
16 Or Labano aveva due figliuole: la maggiore si chiamava Lea, e la minore Rachele.
And Laban had. ij. doughters the eldest called Lea and the yongest Rahel.
17 Lea aveva gli occhi delicati, ma Rachele era avvenente e di bell’aspetto.
Lea was tender eyed: But Rahel was bewtifull ad well fauored.
18 E Giacobbe amava Rachele, e disse a Labano: “Io ti servirò sette anni, per Rachele tua figliuola minore”.
And Iacob loued her well and sayde: I will serue the. vij. yere for Rahel thy yongest doughter.
19 E Labano rispose: “E’ meglio ch’io la dia a te che ad un altr’uomo; sta’ con me”.
And Laban answered: it is better yt I geue her the than to another man? byde therfore with me.
20 E Giacobbe servì sette anni per Rachele; e gli parvero pochi giorni, per l’amore che le portava.
And Iacob serued. vij. yeres for Rahel and they semed vnto him but a fewe dayes for the loue he had to her.
21 E Giacobbe disse a Labano: “Dammi la mia moglie, poiché il mio tempo è compiuto, ed io andrò da lei”.
And Iacob sayde vnto Laban geue me my wife that I maye lye with hir for the tyme appoynted me is come.
22 Allora Labano radunò tutta la gente del luogo, e fece un convito.
Than Laban bade all the men of that place and made a feast.
23 Ma, la sera, prese Lea, sua figliuola, e la menò da Giacobbe, il quale entrò da lei.
And when eue was come he toke Lea his doughter and broughte her to him and he went in vnto her.
24 E Labano dette la sua serva Zilpa per serva a Lea, sua figliuola.
And Laban gaue vnto his doughter Lea Zilpha his mayde to be hir seruaunte.
25 L’indomani mattina, ecco che era Lea. E Giacobbe disse a Labano: “Che m’hai fatto? Non è egli per Rachele ch’io t’ho servito? Perché dunque m’hai ingannato?”
And when the mornynge was come beholde it was Lea. Than sayde he to Laban: wherfore hast thou played thus with me? dyd not I serue the for Rahel wherfore than hast thou begyled me?
26 E Labano rispose: “Non è usanza da noi di dare la minore prima della maggiore. Finisci la settimana di questa;
Laban answered: it is not the maner of this place to marke the yongest before the eldest.
27 e ti daremo anche l’altra, per il servizio che presterai da me altri sette anni”.
Passe out this weke and tha shall this also be geuen the for ye seruyce which thou shalt serue me yet. vij. yeres more.
28 Giacobbe fece così, e finì la settimana di quello sposalizio; poi Labano gli dette in moglie Rachele sua figliuola.
And Iacob dyd eue so and passed out that weke and than he gaue hi Rahel his doughter to wyfe also.
29 E Labano dette la sua serva Bilha per serva a Rachele, sua figliuola.
And Laban gaue to Rahel his doughter Bilha his handmayde to be hir servaute.
30 E Giacobbe entrò pure da Rachele, ed anche amò Rachele più di Lea, e servì da Labano altri sette anni.
So laye he by Rahel also and loued Rahel more than Lea and serued him yet. vij. yeres more.
31 L’Eterno, vedendo che Lea era odiata, la rese feconda; ma Rachele era sterile.
When the LORde sawe that Lea was despised he made her frutefull: but Rahel was baren.
32 E Lea concepì e partorì un figliuolo, al quale pose nome Ruben; perché disse: “L’Eterno ha veduto la mia afflizione; e ora il mio marito mi amerà”.
And Lea conceaued and bare a sonne ad called his name Rube for she sayde: the LORde hath loked apon my tribulation. And now my husbonde will loue me.
33 Poi concepì di nuovo e partorì un figliuolo, e disse: “L’Eterno ha udito ch’io ero odiata, e però m’ha dato anche questo figliuolo”. E lo chiamò Simeone.
And she conceaued agayne and bare a sonne and sayde: the LORde hath herde that I am despised ad hath therfore geuen me this sonne also and she called him Simeon.
34 E concepì di nuovo e partorì un figliuolo, e disse: “Questa volta, il mio marito sarà ben unito a me, poiché gli ho partorito tre figliuoli”. Per questo fu chiamato Levi.
And she conceaued yet and bare a sonne ad sayde: now this once will my husbonde kepe me company because I haue borne him. iij. sonnes: and therfore she called his name Levi.
35 E concepì di nuovo e partorì un figliuolo, e disse: “Questa volta celebrerò l’Eterno”. Perciò gli pose nome Giuda. E cessò d’aver figliuoli.
And she conceaued yet agayne and bare a sonne saynge? Now will I prayse the LORde: therfore she called his name Iuda and left bearynge.
