Atti 15
1 Or alcuni, discesi dalla Giudea, insegnavano ai fratelli: Se voi non siete circoncisi secondo il rito di Mosè, non potete esser salvati.
And certain men, who came down from Judea, taught the brothers, Unless ye will be circumcised in the custom of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
2 Ed essendo nata una non piccola dissensione e controversia fra Paolo e Barnaba, e costoro, fu deciso che Paolo, Barnaba e alcuni altri dei fratelli salissero a Gerusalemme agli apostoli ed anziani per trattar questa questione.
Therefore, no small dissension and debate having developed with Paul and Barnabas against them, they appointed Paul and Barnabas, and some other men from them, to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders in Jerusalem about this issue.
3 Essi dunque, accompagnati per un tratto dalla chiesa, traversarono la Fenicia e la Samaria, raccontando la conversione dei Gentili; e cagionavano grande allegrezza a tutti i fratelli.
Indeed therefore, having been helped for the trip by the congregation, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles. And they caused great joy to all the brothers.
4 Poi, giunti a Gerusalemme, furono accolti dalla chiesa, dagli apostoli e dagli anziani, e riferirono quanto grandi cose Dio avea fatte con loro.
And after arriving in Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders. And they reported as many things as God did with them.
5 Ma alcuni della setta de’ Farisei che aveano creduto, si levarono dicendo: Bisogna circoncidere i Gentili, e comandar loro d’osservare la legge di Mosè.
But some of the men who believed from the sect of the Pharisees rose up, saying, It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
6 Allora gli apostoli e gli anziani si raunarono per esaminar la questione.
And the apostles and the elders were assembled together to see about this matter.
7 Ed essendone nata una gran discussione, Pietro si levò in piè, e disse loro: Fratelli, voi sapete che fin dai primi giorni Iddio scelse fra voi me, affinché dalla bocca mia i Gentili udissero la parola del Vangelo e credessero.
And when much debate occurred, Peter having risen up, he said to them, Men, brothers, ye know that from past days among us, God chose the Gentiles to hear through my mouth the word of the good news, and to believe.
8 E Dio, conoscitore dei cuori, rese loro testimonianza, dando lo Spirito Santo a loro, come a noi;
And God, who knows the heart, testified to them, having given them the Holy Spirit, just as also to us.
9 e non fece alcuna differenza fra noi e loro, purificando i cuori loro mediante la fede.
And he made not one distinction between both us and them, having purified their hearts by faith.
10 Perché dunque tentate adesso Iddio mettendo sul collo de’ discepoli un giogo che né i padri nostri né noi abbiam potuto portare?
Now therefore why do ye challenge God, to place a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 Anzi, noi crediamo d’esser salvati per la grazia del Signor Gesù, nello stesso modo che loro.
But through the grace of the Lord Jesus, we believe to be saved, in the same way as those men also.
12 E tutta la moltitudine si tacque; e stavano ad ascoltar Barnaba e Paolo che narravano quali segni e prodigi Iddio aveva fatto per mezzo di loro fra i Gentili.
And all the multitude kept silent, and they heard Barnabas and Paul describing how many signs and wonders God did among the Gentiles through them.
13 E quando si furon taciuti, Giacomo prese a dire:
And after they were quiet, James answered, saying, Men, brothers, hear me.
14 Fratelli, ascoltatemi. Simone ha narrato come Dio ha primieramente visitato i Gentili, per trarre da questi un popolo per il suo nome.
Simeon described how God first came to help, to take from the Gentiles a people for his name.
15 E con ciò s’accordano le parole de’ profeti, siccome è scritto:
And to this the words of the prophets agree, as it is written,
16 Dopo queste cose io tornerò e edificherò di nuovo la tenda di Davide, che è caduta; e restaurerò le sue ruine, e la rimetterò in piè,
After these things I will return, and I will rebuild the tabernacle of David that has fallen. And I will rebuild the things of it that have been demolished, and I will restore it,
17 affinché il rimanente degli uomini e tutti i Gentili sui quali e invocato il mio nome,
so that the rest of men might seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles upon whom my name is called upon them, says the Lord, who does these things.
18 cerchino il Signore, dice il Signore che fa queste cose, le quali a lui son note ab eterno. (aiōn g165)
Known to God from the age are all his works. (aiōn g165)
19 Per la qual cosa io giudico che non si dia molestia a quelli dei Gentili che si convertono a Dio;
Therefore I judge not to trouble those from the Gentiles who are turning to God,
20 ma che si scriva loro di astenersi dalle cose contaminate nei sacrifici agl’idoli, dalla fornicazione, dalle cose soffocate, e dal sangue.
but to write to them, to abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from what is strangled, and from blood.
21 Poiché Mosè fin dalle antiche generazioni ha chi lo predica in ogni città, essendo letto nelle sinagoghe ogni sabato.
For Moses from generations past, has from city to city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues on every sabbath.
22 Allora parve bene agli apostoli e agli anziani con tutta la chiesa, di mandare ad Antiochia con Paolo e Barnaba, certi uomini scelti fra loro, cioè: Giuda, soprannominato Barsabba, e Sila, uomini autorevoli tra i fratelli;
Then it was decided by the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to send men chosen from them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers,
23 e scrissero così per loro mezzo: Gli apostoli e i fratelli anziani, ai fratelli di fra i Gentili che sono in Antiochia, in Siria ed in Cilicia, salute.
after writing by their hand these things: The apostles, and the elders, and the brothers, to those down in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, to the brothers of the Gentiles, greeting.
24 Poiché abbiamo inteso che alcuni, partiti di fra noi, vi hanno turbato coi loro discorsi, sconvolgendo le anime vostre, benché non avessimo dato loro mandato di sorta,
Since we have heard that certain men who went out from us have troubled you with words, disturbing your souls, saying to be circumcised, and to keep the law, to whom we did not command,
25 è parso bene a noi, riuniti di comune accordo, di scegliere degli uomini e di mandarveli assieme ai nostri cari Barnaba e Paolo,
it was decided by us, having become unanimous, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
26 i quali hanno esposto la propria vita per il nome del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo.
men who have given over their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 Vi abbiam dunque mandato Giuda e Sila; anch’essi vi diranno a voce le medesime cose.
We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, themselves also declaring the same things by speech.
28 Poiché è parso bene allo Spirito Santo ed a noi di non imporvi altro peso all’infuori di queste cose, che sono necessarie;
For it was decided by the Holy Spirit, and by us, to lay upon you not one greater burden than these necessary things:
29 cioè: che v’asteniate dalle cose sacrificate agl’idoli, dal sangue, dalle cose soffocate, e dalla fornicazione; dalle quali cose ben farete a guardarvi. State sani.
to abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication, keeping yourselves from which, ye will do well. Be strong.
30 Essi dunque, dopo essere stati accomiatati, scesero ad Antiochia; e radunata la moltitudine, consegnarono la lettera.
Indeed therefore after being dismissed, they came to Antioch, and having gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter.
31 E quando i fratelli l’ebbero letta, si rallegrarono della consolazione che recava.
And after reading it, they rejoiced for the encouragement.
32 E Giuda e Sila, anch’essi, essendo profeti, con molte parole li esortarono e li confermarono.
And Judas and Silas, being themselves also prophets, exhorted the brothers by much speech, and strengthened them.
33 E dopo che furon dimorati quivi alquanto tempo, furon dai fratelli congedati in pace perché se ne tornassero a quelli che li aveano inviati.
And after spending some time, they were dismissed with peace from the brothers to the apostles.
34 E parve bene a Sila di rimaner quivi.

35 Ma Paolo e Barnaba rimasero ad Antiochia insegnando ed evangelizzando, con molti altri ancora, la parola del Signore.
But Paul and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching good news, the word of the Lord, with many others also.
36 E dopo vari giorni, Paolo disse a Barnaba: Torniamo ora a visitare i fratelli in ogni città dove abbiamo annunziato la parola del Signore, per vedere come stanno.
And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, After returning, surely we could help our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, how they fare.
37 Barnaba voleva prender con loro anche Giovanni, detto Marco.
And Barnabas wanted to take along John called Mark.
38 Ma Paolo giudicava che non dovessero prendere a compagno colui che si era separato da loro fin dalla Panfilia, e che non era andato con loro all’opera.
But Paul thought it not worthy to bring along this man who withdrew from them from Pamphylia, and not having gone with them to the work.
39 E ne nacque un’aspra contesa, tanto che si separarono; e Barnaba, preso seco Marco, navigò verso Cipro;
Therefore a provocation developed, so as for them to separate from each other, and Barnabas to sail for Cyprus, after taking Mark,
40 ma Paolo, sceltosi Sila, partì, raccomandato dai fratelli alla grazia del Signore.
but Paul, having selected Silas, went forth after being delivered to the grace of God by the brothers.
41 E percorse la Siria e la Cilicia, confermando le chiese.
And he passed through Syria and Cilicia, encouraging the congregations.
