1 Giovanni 1
1 Quel che era dal principio, quel che abbiamo udito, quel che abbiamo veduto con gli occhi nostri, quel che abbiamo contemplato e che le nostre mani hanno toccato della Parola della vita
That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we looked upon, and our hands handled, concerning the word of life,
2 (e la vita è stata manifestata e noi l’abbiam veduta e ne rendiamo testimonianza, e vi annunziamo la vita eterna che era presso il Padre e che ci fu manifestata), (aiōnios g166)
—and the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and announce to you the everlasting life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us, — (aiōnios g166)
3 quello, dico, che abbiamo veduto e udito, noi l’annunziamo anche a voi, affinché voi pure abbiate comunione con noi, e la nostra comunione è col Padre e col suo Figliuolo, Gesù Cristo.
that which we have seen and heard we announce to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 E noi vi scriviamo queste cose affinché la nostra allegrezza sia compiuta.
And these things we write to you, that your joy may be full.
5 Or questo è il messaggio che abbiamo udito da lui e che vi annunziamo: che Dio è luce, e che in Lui non vi son tenebre alcune.
And this is the message which we have heard from him, and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 Se diciamo che abbiam comunione con lui e camminiamo nelle tenebre, noi mentiamo e non mettiamo in pratica la verità;
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth;
7 ma se camminiamo nella luce, com’Egli è nella luce, abbiam comunione l’uno con l’altro, e il sangue di Gesù, suo Figliuolo, ci purifica da ogni peccato.
but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 Se diciamo d’esser senza peccato, inganniamo noi stessi, e la verità non è in noi.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 Se confessiamo i nostri peccati, Egli è fedele e giusto da rimetterci i peccati e purificarci da ogni iniquità.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 Se diciamo di non aver peccato, lo facciamo bugiardo, e la sua parola non è in noi.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
