1 Figliuoli d’Issacar: Tola, Puah, Jashub e Scimron: quattro in tutto.
Issachar’s four sons were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
2 Figliuoli di Tola: Uzzi, Refaia, Jeriel, Jahmai, Jbsam e Samuele, capi delle case patriarcali discese da Tola; ed erano uomini forti e valorosi nelle loro generazioni; il loro numero, al tempo di Davide, era di ventiduemila seicento.
Tola’s sons were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Samuel (OR, Shemuel). They were all leaders of the clans [descended from] them. In the record of Tola’s descendants were the names of 22,600 men who served in the army during the time that David was the king [of Israel].
3 Figliuoli d’Uzzi: Jzrahia. Figliuoli di Jzrahia: Micael, Abdia, Joel ed Jsshia: cinque in tutto, e tutti capi.
Uzzi’s son was Izrahiah. Izrahiah’s five sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. Izrahiah and his sons were all leaders of their clans.
4 Aveano con loro, secondo le loro genealogie, secondo le loro case patriarcali, trentaseimila uomini in schiere armate per la guerra; perché aveano molte mogli e molti figliuoli.
In the record of Izrahiah’s descendants were the names of 36,000 men who served in the army because they had many wives and children.
5 I loro fratelli, contando tutte le famiglie d’Issacar, uomini forti e valorosi, formavano un totale di ottantasettemila, iscritti nelle genealogie.
In the records of the clans descended from Issachar were the names of 87,000 men who served in the army.
6 Figliuoli di Beniamino: Bela, Beker e Jediael: tre in tutto.
[Some of the] sons of Benjamin were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
7 Figliuoli di Bela: Etsbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth ed Iri: cinque capi di case patriarcali, uomini forti e valorosi, iscritti nelle genealogie in numero di ventiduemila trentaquattro.
Bela’s five sons were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were all leaders of clans. In the records of the clans descended from Bela there were names of 22,034 men who served in the army.
8 Figliuoli di Beker: Zemira, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abija, Anathoth ed Alemeth. Tutti questi erano figliuoli di Beker,
Beker’s sons were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth.

In the records of the clans descended from Beker were the names of 20,200 men and leaders of the clans who served in the army.
10 Figliuoli di Jediael: Bilhan. Figliuoli di Bilhan: Jeush, Beniamino, Ehud, Kenaana, Zethan, Tarsis ed Ahishahar.
Jediael’s son was Bilhan. Bilhan’s sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11 Tutti questi erano figliuoli di Jediael, capi di case patriarcali, uomini forti e valorosi, in numero di diciassettemila duecento pronti a partire per la guerra.
They were all leaders of clans descended from them. There were 17,200 of them who served in the army.
12 Shuppim e Huppim, figliuoli d’Ir; Huscim, figliuolo d’un altro.
Shuppim and Huppim were descendants of Ir. [One of] the descendants of Aher was Hushim.
13 Figliuoli di Neftali: Jahtsiel, Guni, Jetser, Shallum, figliuoli di Bilha.
Naphtali’s sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. They were all descendants of [Jacob’s slave wife] Bilhah.
14 Figliuoli di Manasse: Asriel, che gli fu partorito dalla moglie. La sua concubina Sira partorì Makir, padre di Galaad;
[This is a list of] Manasseh’s descendants. Manasseh had a slave wife who was from Syria. She was the mother of Asriel and Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead.
15 Makir prese per moglie una donna di Huppim e di Shuppim, e la sorella di lui avea nome Maaca. Il nome del suo secondo figliuolo era Tselofehad; e Tselofehad ebbe delle figliuole.
Makir [had two wives]. They were from the clans of Huppim and Shuppim. One of Makir’s wives was named Maacah. Another descendant [of Makir] was Zelophehad. Zelophehad [had no sons; he] had only daughters.
16 Maaca, moglie di Makir, partorì un figliuolo, al quale pose nome Peresh; questi ebbe un fratello di nome Sceresh, i cui figliuoli furono Ulam e Rekem.
Makir’s wife Maacah gave birth to two sons whom she named Peresh and Sheresh. Sheresh’s sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17 Figliuoli di Ulam: Bedan. Questi furono i figliuoli di Galaad, figliuolo di Makir, figliuolo di Manasse.
Ulam’s son was Bedan. All those [men were considered to be] descendants of Gilead, who was the son of Makir and grandson of Manasseh.
18 La sua sorella Hammoleketh partorì Ishod, Abiezer e Mahla.
Makir’s sister name was Hammoleketh who was the mother of Ishdod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 I figliuoli di Scemida furono Ahian, Scekem, Likhi ed Aniam.
[One son of Gilead was] Shemida, whose sons were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
20 Figliuoli di Efraim: Shutela, che ebbe per figliuolo Bered, che ebbe per figliuolo Tahath, che ebbe per figliuolo Eleada, che ebbe per figliuolo Tahath,
[This is a list of] the descendants of Ephraim. One son of Ephraim’s was Shuthelah. Shuthelah’s son was Bered. Bered’s son was Tahath. Tahath’s son was Eleadah. Eleadah’s son was [also named] Tahath.
21 che ebbe per figliuolo Zabad, che ebbe per figliuolo Shutelah, Ezer ed Elead, i quali furono uccisi da quei di Gath, nativi del paese, perch’erano scesi a predare il loro bestiame.
Tahath’s son was Zabad. Zabad’s son was Shuthelah. [Ephraim’s other sons, ] Ezer and Elead, went to Gath [city] to steal some cows and sheep. But they were both killed by some of the men from that city.
22 Efraim, loro padre, li pianse per molto tempo, e i suoi fratelli vennero a consolarlo.
Their father Ephraim cried/mourned for them for many days, and his family came to comfort him.
23 Poi entrò da sua moglie, la quale concepì e partorì un figliuolo; ed egli lo chiamò Beria, perché questo era avvenuto mentre avea l’afflizione in casa.
Then he and his wife had sex [EUP] [again], and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah [which resembles the word ‘trouble’, ] because of the trouble that his family had experienced.
24 Efraim ebbe per figliuola Sceera, che edifico Beth-Horon, la inferiore e la superiore, ed Uzzen-Sceera.
Ephraim’s daughter was Sheerah. Her workers built [three towns]: Lower Beth-Horon, Upper Beth-Horon, and Uzzen-Sheerah.
25 Ebbe ancora per figliuoli: Refa e Resef; il qual Refa ebbe per figliuolo Telah, che ebbe per figliuolo Tahan,
[Another] son of Ephraim was Rephah. Rephah’s son was Resheph. Resheph’s son was Telah. Telah’s son was Tahan.
26 che ebbe per figliuolo Ladan, che ebbe per figliuolo Ammihud, che ebbe per figliuolo Elishama, che ebbe per figliuolo Nun,
Tahan’s son was Ladan. Ladan’s son was Ammihud. Ammihud’s son was Elishama.
27 che ebbe per figliuolo Giosuè.
Elishama’s son was Nun. Nun’s son was Joshua, [the man who led the Israelis after Moses died].
28 Le loro possessioni e abitazioni furono Bethel e le città che ne dipendevano; dalla parte d’oriente, Naaran; da occidente, Ghezer con le città che ne dipendevano, Sichem con le città che ne dipendevano, fino a Gaza con le città che ne dipendevano.
[This is a list of] the cities and areas where the descendants of Ephraim lived: Bethel and the nearby villages; Naaran to the east; Gezer to the west and the nearby villages; and Shechem and the nearby villages. Those villages extended [north] as far as Ayyah and the nearby villages.
29 I figliuoli di Manasse possedevano: Beth-Scean e le città che ne dipendevano, Taanac e le città che ne dipendevano, Meghiddo e le città che ne dipendevano, Dor e le città che ne dipendevano. In queste città abitarono i figliuoli di Giuseppe, figliuoli d’Israele.
Along the border of the area where the descendants of Manasseh lived were these towns: Beth-Shan, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor, and the nearby villages. The people who lived in all those places were descendants of Jacob’s son Joseph.
30 Figliuoli di Ascer: Jmna, Ishva, Ishvi, Beria, e Serah, loro sorella.
Asher’s sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.
31 Figliuoli di Beria: Heber e Malkiel. Malkiel fu padre di Birzavith.
Beriah’s sons were Heber and Malkiel. Malkiel was the father of Birzaith
32 Heber generò Jaflet, Shomer, Hotham e Shua, loro sorella.
Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. Their sister was Shua.

Shomer’s [younger] brother was Hotham (OR, Helem). Hotham’s sons were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.

Zophah’s sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
37 Betser, Hod, Shamma, Scilsha, Jthran e Beera.
Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran [whose other name was Jether], and Beera.
38 Figliuoli di Jether: Jefunne, Pispa ed Ara.
Jether’s sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.
39 Figliuoli di Ulla: Arah, Hanniel e Ritsia.
[Another descendant of Asher was] Ulla, whose sons were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40 Tutti questi furon figliuoli di Ascer, capi di case patriarcali, uomini scelti, forti e valorosi, capi tra i principi, iscritti per servizio di guerra in numero di ventiseimila uomini.
All those men were descendants of Asher, and they were all leaders of their clans. They were brave warriors and excellent leaders. In the record of the clans that are descended from Asher are [the names of] 26,000 men who served in the army.
