Rut 4
1 BOOZ adunque salì alla porta, e vi si pose a sedere. Ed ecco, colui che avea la ragione della consanguinità, del quale Booz avea parlato, passò. E [Booz gli] disse: O tu, tale, vieni qua, e poniti qui a sedere. Ed egli andò, e si pose a sedere.
And Boaz has gone up to the gate, and sits there, and behold, the redeemer is passing by of whom Boaz had spoken, and he says, “Turn aside, sit down here, such a one, such a one”; and he turns aside and sits down.
2 E [Booz] prese dieci uomini degli Anziani della città, e disse loro: Sedete qui; ed essi si misero a sedere.
And he takes ten men from [the] elderly of the city, and says, “Sit down here”; and they sit down.
3 Poi [Booz] disse a colui che avea la ragion della consanguinità: Naomi, ch'è ritornata dalle contrade di Moab, ha venduta la possessione del campo, ch'era di Elimelec, nostro fratello;
And he says to the redeemer, “A portion of the field which [is] to our brother, to Elimelech, has Naomi sold, who has come back from the fields of Moab;
4 laonde io ho detto di fartene motto, e di dirti che tu l'acquisti in presenza di costoro che seggono [qui], e in presenza degli Anziani del mio popolo; se tu [la] vuoi riscuotere, per ragione di consanguinità, fallo; ma, se tu non [la] vuoi riscuotere, dichiaramelo, acciocchè io il sappia; perciocchè non [v'è] alcun altro per riscuoterla, se non tu, ed io dopo te. Allora colui disse: Io la riscuoterò.
and I said, I uncover your ear, saying, Buy before the inhabitants and before [the] elderly of my people; if you redeem—redeem, and if none redeems—declare [it] to me and I know, for there is none except you to redeem, and I after you.” And he says, “I redeem [it].”
5 E Booz [gli] disse: Nel giorno che tu acquisterai il campo della mano di Naomi, tu l'acquisterai ancora da Rut Moabita, moglie del morto, per suscitare il nome del morto sopra la sua eredità.
And Boaz says, “In the day of your buying the field from the hand of Naomi, then from Ruth the Moabitess, wife of the dead, you have bought [it], to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance.”
6 Ma, colui che avea la ragione della consanguinità, disse: Io non posso usare la ragione della consanguinità per me; che talora io non dissipi la mia eredità; usa tu la mia ragione della consanguinità, per riscuoterla; perciocchè io non posso farlo.
And the redeemer says, “I am not able to redeem [it] for myself, lest I destroy my inheritance; redeem for yourself—you—my right of redemption, for I am not able to redeem.”
7 Or ab antico v'era questa [usanza], che, in caso di riscatto per ragione di consanguinità, e di trasportamento di ragione, per fermar tutto l'affare, l'uomo si traeva la scarpa, e la dava al suo prossimo; e ciò serviva di testimonianza in Israele.
And this [is] formerly in Israel for redemption and for exchanging, to establish anything: a man has drawn off his sandal, and given [it] to his neighbor, and this [is] the Testimony in Israel.
8 Così, dopo che colui che avea la ragione della consanguinità ebbe detto a Booz: Acquistati tu [quel campo], egli si trasse la scarpa.
And the redeemer says to Boaz, “Buy [it] for yourself,” and draws off his sandal.
9 E Booz disse agli Anziani, e a tutto il popolo: Voi [siete] oggi testimoni che io ho acquistato dalla mano di Naomi tutto ciò ch'[era] di Elimelec, e tutto ciò ch'[era] di Chilion e di Malon;
And Boaz says to the elderly, and [to] all the people, “You [are] witnesses today that I have bought all that [belonged] to Elimelech, and all that [belonged] to Chilion and Mahlon, from the hand of Naomi;
10 e che ancora mi ho acquistata per moglie Rut Moabita, moglie di Malon, per suscitare il nome del morto sopra la sua eredità; acciocchè il nome del morto non sia spento d'infra i suoi fratelli, e dalla porta del suo luogo. Voi [ne siete] oggi testimoni.
and also Ruth the Moabitess, wife of Mahlon, I have bought to myself for a wife, to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance; and the name of the dead is not cut off from among his brothers, and from the gate of his place; witnesses you [are] today.”
11 E tutto il popolo ch'[era] nella porta, e gli Anziani, dissero: [Sì, noi ne siamo] testimoni. Il Signore faccia che la moglie, ch'entra in casa tua, sia come Rachele e come Lea, le quali edificarono amendue la casa d'Israele; fatti pur possente in Efrata, e fa' che il [tuo] nome sia celebrato in Bet-lehem.
And all the people who [are] in the gate say—also the elderly, “Witnesses! YHWH makes the woman who is coming to your house as Rachel and as Leah, both of whom built the house of Israel; and you do virtuously in Ephrathah, and proclaim the name in Beth-Lehem;
12 E della progenie, che il Signore ti darà di cotesta giovane, sia la casa tua come la casa di Fares, il quale Tamar partorì a Giuda.
and let your house be as the house of Perez (whom Tamar bore to Judah), of the seed which YHWH gives to you of this young woman.”
13 Booz adunque prese Rut, ed ella gli fu moglie: ed egli entrò da lei, e il Signore le fece grazia d'ingravidare; e partorì un figliuolo.
And Boaz takes Ruth, and she becomes his wife, and he goes in to her, and YHWH gives conception to her, and she bears a son.
14 E le donne dissero a Naomi: Benedetto [sia] il Signore, il quale non ha permesso che oggi ti sia mancato uno che avesse la ragione della consanguinità; il cui nome sia celebrato in Israele.
And the women say to Naomi, “Blessed [is] YHWH who has not let a redeemer cease to you today, and his name is proclaimed in Israel,
15 E siati esso per ristorarti l'anima, e per sostentar la tua vecchiezza; conciossiachè la tua nuora, la qual ti ama, e ti val meglio che sette figliuoli, abbia partorito questo [fanciullo].
and he has been to you for a restorer of life, and for a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law who has loved you—who is better to you than seven sons—has borne him.”
16 E Naomi prese il fanciullo, e se lo recò al seno, e gli fu in luogo di balia.
And Naomi takes the boy, and lays him in her bosom, and is to him for a nurse;
17 E le vicine gli posero nome, quando fu detto: Un figliuolo è nato a Naomi; e lo chiamarono Obed. Esso [fu] padre d'Isai, padre di Davide.
and the neighboring women give a name to him, saying, “There has been a son born to Naomi,” and they call his name Obed; he [is] father of Jesse, father of David.
18 Or queste [sono] le generazioni di Fares: Fares generò Hesron;
And these are generations of Perez: Perez begot Hezron,
19 ed Hesron generò Ram; e Ram generò Amminadab;
and Hezron begot Ram, and Ram begot Amminidab,
20 e Amminadab generò Naasson; e Naasson generò Salmon;
and Amminidab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon,
21 e Salmon generò Booz; e Booz generò Obed;
and Salmon begot Boaz, and Boaz begot Obed,
22 e Obed generò Isai; ed Isai generò Davide.
and Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David.
