Apocalisse 17
1 ED uno de' sette angeli, che aveano le sette coppe, venne, e parlò meco, dicendo: Vieni, io ti mostrerò la condannazione della gran meretrice, che siede sopra molte acque;
And there cam one of the seven angels which had the seven vialles and talked with me sayinge vnto me: come I will shewe the the iudgment of the grett whore that sytteth apon many waters
2 con la quale hanno fornicato i re della terra; e del vino della cui fornicazione sono stati inebbriati gli abitanti della terra.
with whome have commytted fornicacion the kynges of the erth so that the inhabiters of the erth are droken with the wyne of her fornicacion.
3 Ed egli mi trasportò in ispirito in un deserto; ed io vidi una donna, che sedeva sopra una bestia di color di scarlatto, piena di nomi di bestemmia, ed avea sette teste, e dieci corna.
And he caryed me a waye into the wildernes in the sprete. And I sawe a woman sytt apon a rose colored best full of names of blaphemie which had ten hornes.
4 E quella donna, ch'era vestita di porpora, e di scarlatto, adorna d'oro, e di pietre preziose, e di perle, avea una coppa d'oro in mano, piena d'abbominazioni, e delle immondizie della sua fornicazione.
And the woman was arayed in purple and rose color and decked with golde precious stone and pearles and had a cup of golde in her honde full of a hominacions and fylthynes of her fornycacion.
5 E in su la sua fronte [era] scritto un nome: Mistero, Babilonia la grande, la madre delle fornicazioni, e delle abbominazioni della terra.
And in her forhed was a name wrytten a mistery gret Babylon the mother of whordome and abominacions of the erth.
6 Ed io vidi quella donna ebbra del sangue dei santi, e del sangue de' martiri di Gesù; ed avendola veduta, mi maravigliai di gran maraviglia.
And I sawe the wyfe dronke with the bloud of saynctes and with the bloud of the witnesses of Iesu. And when I sawe her I wondred with grett mervayle.
7 E l'angelo mi disse: Perchè ti maravigli? Io ti dirò il mistero della donna, e della bestia che la porta, la quale ha le sette teste, e le dieci corna.
And the angell sayde vnto me: wherfore mervayllyst thou? I wyll shewe the ye mistery of the woman and of the best that berith her which hath seven heddes and ten hornes.
8 La bestia che tu hai veduta, era, e non è [più]; e salirà dell'abisso, e poi andrà in perdizione; e gli abitanti della terra, i cui nomi non sono scritti nel libro della vita, fin dalla fondazione del mondo, si maraviglieranno, veggendo la bestia che era, e non è, e pure è. (Abyssos g12)
The best that thou seest was and is not and shall ascende out of the bottomlesse pytt and shall goo into perdicion and they that dwell on the erth shall wondre (whose names are not wrytten in the boke of lyfe from ye begynnynge of the worlde) when they beholde the best that was and ys nott. (Abyssos g12)
9 Qui [è] la mente, che ha sapienza: le sette teste son sette monti, sopra i quali la donna siede.
And here ys a mynde that hath wisdome. The seven heddes are seven mountaynes on which the woman sytteth:
10 Sono ancora sette re; i cinque son caduti, l'uno è, e l'altro non è ancora venuto; e quando sarà venuto, ha da durar poco.
they are also seven kynges. Fyve are fallen and on ys and onother is not yet come. Whe he cometh he muste contynew a space.
11 E la bestia che era, e non è [più], è anch'essa un ottavo [re], ed è de' sette, e se ne va in perdizione.
And the beste that was and ys not is even the ayght and ys one of the seven and shall goo into destruccion.
12 E le dieci corna, che tu hai vedute, son dieci re, i quali non hanno ancora preso il regno; ma prenderanno podestà, come re, in uno stesso tempo con la bestia.
And the ten hornes which thou seist are ten kynges which have receaved no kyngdome but shall receave power as kynges at one houre with the beest.
13 Costoro hanno un medesimo consiglio: e daranno la lor potenza, e podestà alla bestia.
These have one mynde and shall geve their power and strenghte vnto ye beste.
14 Costoro guerreggeranno con l'Agnello, e l'Agnello li vincerà; perciocchè egli è il Signor de' signori, e il Re dei re; e coloro che [son] con lui[son] chiamati, ed eletti, e fedeli.
These shall fyght with the lambe and the lambe shall overcome them: For he is lorde of lordes and kynge of kynges: and they that are on hys syde are called and chosen and faythfull.
15 Poi mi disse: Le acque che tu hai vedute, dove siede la meretrice, [son] popoli, e moltitudini, e nazioni, e lingue.
And he sayde vnto me: the waters which thou sawest where the whore syttith are people and folke and nacions and tonges.
16 E le dieci corna, che tu hai vedute nella bestia, [son] quelli che odieranno la meretrice, e la renderanno deserta, e nuda; e mangeranno le sue carni, e bruceranno lei col fuoco.
And the ten hornes which thou sawest apon the best are they that shall hate the whore and shall make her desolate and naked and shall eate their flesshe and burne her with fyre.
17 Perciocchè Iddio ha messo nel cuor loro di eseguire la sua sentenza, e di prendere un medesimo consiglio, e di dare il lor regno alla bestia; finchè sieno adempiute le parole di Dio.
For God hathe put in their hertes to fulfyll hys wyll and to do with one consent for to geve hir kyngdom vnto the beast vntill the wordes of God be fulfylled.
18 E la donna, che tu hai veduta, è la gran città, che ha il regno sopra i re della terra.
And the woman which thou sawest ys that gret cyte which raigneth over the kynges of the erth.
