Salmi 96

1 CANTATE al Signore un nuovo cantico; Cantate, o [abitanti di] tutta la terra, al Signore.

Oh sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the lands.

2 Cantate al Signore, benedite il suo Nome; Predicate di giorno in giorno la sua salute.

Sing unto the Lord, bless his name: announce from day to day his salvation.

3 Raccontate fra le genti la sua gloria, E le sue maraviglie fra tutti i popoli.

Relate among the nations his honor, among all the people his wonders.

4 Perciocchè il Signore [è] grande, e degno di sovrana lode; Egli [è] tremendo sopra tutti gl'iddii.

For the Lord is great, and greatly praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

5 Perciocchè tutti gl'iddii de' popoli [sono] idoli; Ma il Signore ha fatti i cieli.

For all the gods of the nations are idols; but the Lord hath made the heavens.

6 Maestà e magnificenza [sono] davanti a lui; Forza e gloria [sono] nel suo santuario.

Glory and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

7 Date al Signore, o generazioni de' popoli, Date al Signore gloria e forza.

Ascribe unto the Lord, O ye families of the people, ascribe unto the Lord honor and strength.

8 Date al Signore la gloria [dovuta] al suo Nome; Portategli offerte, e venite ne' suoi cortili.

Ascribe unto the Lord the honor [due unto] his name: bear hither a present, and come unto his courts.

9 Adorate il Signore nel magnifico santuario; Tremate, o [abitanti di] tutta la terra, per la sua presenza.

Bow down unto the Lord in the beauty of holiness: tremble before him, all ye lands.

10 Dite fra le genti: Il Signore regna; Il mondo sarà pure stabilito, [e] non sarà [più] smosso; Egli giudicherà i popoli in dirittura.

Say among the nations, “The Lord reigneth;” [therefore] also the world is ever firmly established that it shall hot be moved: he will judge the people in equity.

11 Rallegrinsi i cieli, e gioisca la terra; Risuoni il mare, e quello ch'è in esso.

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad: let the sea roar, with all that filleth it.

12 Festeggi la campagna, e tutto quello ch'è in essa. Allora tutti gli alberi delle selve daranno voci d'allegrezza,

Let the field exult, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy,

13 Nel cospetto del Signore; perciocchè egli viene, Egli viene per giudicar la terra; Egli giudicherà il mondo in giustizia, Ed i popoli nella sua verità.

Before the Lord; for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he will judge the world with righteousness, and people in his truth.
