Salmi 74
1 Maschil di Asaf O DIO, perchè [ci] hai scacciati in perpetuo? [Perchè] fuma l'ira tua contro alla greggia del tuo pasco?
An Instructive Psalm. Asaph’s. Wherefore, O God, hast thou cast off utterly? Shall thine anger smoke against the flock of thine own pasturing?
2 Ricordati della tua raunanza, [la quale] tu acquistasti anticamente; Della tribù della tua eredità [che] tu riscotesti; Del monte di Sion, nel quale tu abitasti.
Remember thine own assembly thou didst acquire aforetime, Thou didst redeem the tribe of thine own inheritance, Mount Zion, wherein thou didst take up thy habitation.
3 Muovi i passi verso le ruine perpetue, [Verso] tutto il male [che] i nemici han fatto nel [luogo] santo.
Lift up thy steps unto the places utterly unsafe, All the mischief!—the foe in the sanctuary!
4 I tuoi nemici han ruggito in mezzo del tuo Tempio; [Vi] hanno poste le loro insegne [per] segnali.
Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of thine appointed meeting, They have set their ensigns as tokens!
5 [Ciò] sarà noto; come chi, [levando] ad alto delle scuri, Le avventa contro a un cespo di legne;
One used to be known according as he carried up high—into the thicket of trees—the axes;
6 Così ora hanno essi, con iscuri e martelli, Fracassati tutti quanti gl'intagli di quello.
But, now, the doors thereof all together, with axes and hammers, they batter down.
7 Hanno messi a fuoco e fiamma i tuoi santuari, Hanno profanato il tabernacolo del tuo Nome, [gettandolo] per terra.
They have cast, into the fire, thy sanctuary, To the ground, have they profaned the habitation of thy Name.
8 Hanno detto nel cuor loro: Prediamoli tutti quanti; Hanno arsi tutti i luoghi delle raunanze di Dio in terra.
They have said in their heart, Let us suppress them altogether, They have burned up all the meeting-places of GOD in the land.
9 Noi non veggiam [più] i nostri segni; Non [vi è] più profeta, E non abbiam con noi alcuno che sappia infino a quando.
Our own signs, have we not seen, —There is no longer a prophet, —Neither is there with us, one who knoweth—How long!
10 Infino a quando, o Dio, oltraggerà l'avversario? Il nemico dispetterà egli il tuo Nome in perpetuo?
How long, O God, shall the adversary, reproach? Shall the enemy revile thy Name perpetually?
11 Perchè ritiri la tua mano e la tua destra? Non lasciare ch'ella ti dimori più dentro al seno.
Wherefore shouldst thou withdraw thy hand—thy right hand? [Bring it] out of the midst of thy bosom! (Selah)
12 Ora Iddio già ab antico [è] il mio Re. Il quale opera salvazioni in mezzo della terra.
But, God, hath been my king from aforetime, Working Deliverances in the midst of the earth.
13 Tu, colla tua forza, spartisti il mare; Tu rompesti le teste delle balene nelle acque.
Thou, didst cleave asunder, in thy might, the sea, Thou didst break in pieces the heads of the Crocodiles, [till they floated] on the waters;
14 Tu fiaccasti i capi del leviatan, E li desti per pasto al popolo de' deserti.
Thou, didst crush the heads of the Sea-Monster, Thou didst give him to be food, for the people of the deserts;
15 Tu facesti scoppiar fonti e torrenti; Tu seccasti fiumi grossi.
Thou, didst cleave open fountain and torrent, Thou, didst dry up rivers of steady flow:
16 Tuo [è] il giorno, tua eziandio [è] la notte; Tu hai ordinata la luna e il sole.
Thine, is the day, Yea, thine, the night, Thou, didst establish moon and sun;
17 Tu hai posti tutti i termini della terra; Tu hai formata la state ed il verno.
Thou, didst set up all the bounds of the earth, As for summer and winter, thou, didst form them!
18 Ricordati di questo: che il nemico ha oltraggiato il Signore, E che il popolo stolto ha dispettato il tuo Nome.
Remember this, An enemy, hath reproached Yahweh, Yea, an impious people, have reviled thy Name.
19 Non dare alle fiere la vita della tua tortola; Non dimenticare in perpetuo la raunanza de' tuoi poveri afflitti.
Do not deliver up, to a wild beast, the life of thy turtle-dove, The living host of thine oppressed ones, do not forget perpetually.
20 Riguarda al Patto, Perciocchè i luoghi tenebrosi della terra sono ripieni di ricetti di violenza.
Have respect to thy covenant, For the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.
21 Non ritornisene il misero indietro svergognato; [Fa' che] il povero afflitto e il bisognoso lodino il tuo Nome.
May the crushed one not again be confounded, As for the oppressed and the needy, let them praise thy Name.
22 Levati, o Dio, dibatti la tua lite; Ricordati dell'oltraggio che ti è fatto tuttodì dallo stolto.
Arise! O God, plead thine own cause, Remember the reproach of thee, from the impious one, all the day:
23 Non dimenticar le grida de' tuoi nemici; Lo strepito di quelli che si levano contro a te sale del continuo [al cielo].
Do not forget the voice of thine adversaries, The noise of thine assailants, ascending continually.
