Salmi 71

1 SIGNORE, io mi son confidato in te, [Fa' ch]'io non sia giammai confuso.

In thee, O Lord, I trust: let me neuer be ashamed.

2 Riscuotimi, e liberami, per la tua giustizia; Inchina a me il tuo orecchio, e salvami.

Rescue mee and deliuer me in thy righteousnes: incline thine eare vnto me and saue me.

3 Siimi una rocca di dimora, Nella quale io entri sempre; Tu hai ordinata la mia salute; Perciocchè tu [sei] la mia rupe e la mia fortezza.

Be thou my strong rocke, whereunto I may alway resort: thou hast giuen commandement to saue me: for thou art my rocke, and my fortresse.

4 O Dio mio, liberami dalla man dell'empio, Dalla mano del perverso e del violento.

Deliuer mee, O my God, out of the hande of the wicked: out of the hande of the euill and cruell man.

5 Perciocchè tu [sei] la mia speranza, o Signore Iddio; La mia confidanza fin dalla mia fanciullezza.

For thou art mine hope, O Lord God, euen my trust from my youth.

6 Tu sei stato il mio sostegno fin dal seno [di mia madre]; Tu [sei] quel che mi hai tratto fuori delle interiora di essa; Per te ho avuto del continuo di che lodarti.

Vpon thee haue I beene stayed from the wombe: thou art he that tooke me out of my mothers bowels: my praise shalbe alwaies of thee.

7 Io sono stato a molti come un mostro; Ma tu [sei] il mio forte ricetto.

I am become as it were a monster vnto many: but thou art my sure trust.

8 Sia la mia bocca ripiena della tua lode, [E] della tua gloria tuttodì.

Let my mouth be filled with thy praise, and with thy glory euery day.

9 Non rigettarmi al tempo della vecchiezza; Ora, che le forze mi mancano, non abbandonarmi.

Cast mee not off in the time of age: forsake me not when my strength faileth.

10 Perciocchè i miei nemici tengono ragionamenti contro a me, E quelli che spiano l'anima mia prendono insieme consiglio.

For mine enemies speake of mee, and they that lay waite for my soule, take their counsell together,

11 Dicendo: Iddio l'ha abbandonato; Perseguitate[lo], e prendetelo; perciocchè non [vi è] alcuno che [lo] riscuota.

Saying, God hath forsaken him: pursue and take him, for there is none to deliuer him.

12 O Dio, non allontanarti da me; Dio mio, affrettati in mio aiuto.

Goe not farre from me, O God: my God, haste thee to helpe me.

13 Sieno confusi, [e] vengano meno gli avversari dell'anima mia; Quelli che procacciano il mio male sieno coperti di onta e di vituperio.

Let them be confounded and consumed that are against my soule: let them be couered with reproofe and confusion, that seeke mine hurt.

14 Ma io spererò del continuo, E sopraggiungerò [ancora altre] lodi a tutte le tue.

But I will waite continually, and will praise thee more and more.

15 La mia bocca racconterà tuttodì la tua giustizia, [e] la tua salute; Bench[è] io non [ne] sappia il gran numero.

My mouth shall daily rehearse thy righteousnesse, and thy saluation: for I knowe not the nomber.

16 Io entrerò nelle prodezze del Signore Iddio; Io ricorderò la giustizia di te solo.

I will goe forwarde in the strength of the Lord God, and will make mention of thy righteousnesse, euen of thine onely.

17 O Dio, tu mi hai ammaestrato dalla mia fanciullezza; Ed io, infino ad ora, ho annunziate le tue maraviglie.

O God, thou hast taught me from my youth euen vntill nowe: therefore will I tell of thy wonderous workes,

18 Non abbandonarmi ancora, o Dio, fino alla vecchiezza, anzi [fino] alla canutezza; Finchè io abbia annunziato il tuo braccio a [questa] generazione, [E] la tua potenza a tutti quelli [che] verranno [appresso].

Yea, euen vnto mine olde age and graie head, O God: forsake me not, vntill I haue declared thine arme vnto this generation, and thy power to all them, that shall come.

19 E la tua giustizia, o Dio, [esalterò] sommamente: Perciocchè tu hai fatte [cose] grandi. O Dio, chi [è] pari a te?

And thy righteousnes, O God, I wil exalt on high: for thou hast done great thinges: O God, who is like vnto thee!

20 Perciocchè, avendomi fatto sentir molte tribolazioni e mali, Tu mi hai di nuovo resa la vita, E mi hai di nuovo tratto fuor degli abissi della terra.

Which hast shewed me great troubles and aduersities, but thou wilt returne, and reuiue me, and wilt come againe, and take mee vp from the depth of the earth.

21 Tu hai accresciuta la mia grandezza, E ti sei rivolto, [e] mi hai consolato.

Thou wilt increase mine honour, and returne and comfort me.

22 Io altresì, collo strumento del saltero, celebrerò te, [E] la tua verità, o Dio mio; Io ti salmeggerò colla cetera, o Santo d'Israele.

Therefore will I praise thee for thy faithfulnesse, O God, vpon instrument and viole: vnto thee will I sing vpon the harpe, O Holy one of Israel.

23 Le mie labbra giubileranno, quando io ti salmeggerò; E insieme l'anima mia, la quale tu hai riscattata.

My lippes will reioyce when I sing vnto thee, and my soule, which thou hast deliuered.

24 La mia lingua ancora ragionerà tuttodì della tua giustizia; Perciocchè sono stati svergognati, perchè sono stati confusi quelli che procacciavano il mio male.

My tongue also shall talke of thy righteousnesse daily: for they are confounded and brought vnto shame, that seeke mine hurt.
