Salmi 45
1 Maschil, cantico d'amori, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, de' figliuoli di Core, sopra Sosannim IL mio cuore sgorga un buon ragionamento; Io recito al Re le mie opere; La mia lingua [sarà come] la penna di un veloce scrittore.
To the Chief Musician. On Shoshannim. For the Sons of Korah. A Psalm of Instruction. A Song of Love. Overflowed hath my heart, with an excellent theme, I will recite my poem concerning the king, Be, my tongue, [like] the pen of a scribe who is skilled.
2 Tu sei più bello che [alcuno de]' figliuoli degli uomini; Grazia è sparsa sulle tue labbra; Perciò Iddio ti ha benedetto in eterno.
Most beautiful thou art, beyond the sons of men, Graciousness hath been poured forth by thy lips, For this cause, hath God blessed thee, to times age-abiding.
3 O prode, cingiti la tua spada al fianco, [Che è] la tua gloria, e la tua magnificenza;
Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, [’Tis] thine honour and thy majesty;
4 E prospera [nel]la tua gloria, Cavalca in su la parola di verità, e di mansuetudine, [e] di giustizia; E la tua destra ti farà vedere [opere] tremende.
And, [in] thy majesty, be successful! ride forth! on behalf of faithfulness, and humility—righteousness, And let thine own right hand show thee wonderful things.
5 Le tue saette [sono] acute; I popoli caderanno sotto a te; [Esse entreranno] nel cuor de' nemici del Re.
Thine arrows, are sharp—Peoples, under thee, fall! In the heart of the foes of the king.
6 O Dio, il tuo trono [è] in sempiterno; Lo scettro del tuo regno [è] uno scettro di dirittura.
Thy throne, O God, is to times age-abiding and beyond, A sceptre of equity, is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
7 Tu hai amata la giustizia, ed hai odiata l'empietà; Perciò Iddio, l'Iddio tuo, ti ha unto. D'olio di letizia sopra i tuoi consorti.
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated lawlessness, —For this cause, hath God, thine own God, anointed thee, With the oil of gladness, beyond thy partners.
8 Tutti i tuoi vestimenti [son] mirra, aloe, [e] cassia, [Che spandono il loro odore] da' palazzi d'avorio, [Dal luogo ove] ti è dato diletto.
Myrrh and aloes, cassias, all thy garments, —Out of the palaces of ivory, the tones of strings, have rejoiced thee.
9 Figliuole di re [sono] fra i tuoi onori; La Sposa [è] alla tua man destra, [adorna] d'oro di Ofir.
Daughters of kings, are among thine honourable women, Stationed is the bride at thy right hand, in gold of Ophir.
10 Ascolta, fanciulla, e riguarda, e porgi l'orecchio; E dimentica il tuo popolo, e la casa di tuo padre;
Hearken, O daughter, and observe, Incline also thine ear, Forget, then, thine own people, And the house of thy father;
11 E il Re porrà amore alla tua bellezza; Adoralo adunque, perciocchè egli [è] il tuo Signore.
When the king shall desire thy beauty, Surely, he, is thy lord, then bow down to him.
12 E la figliuola di Tiro, [E] i ricchi fra i popoli ti supplicheranno con presenti.
Also, the daughter of Tyre, [cometh in] with a present! Thy face, shall the rich of the people appease.
13 La figliuola del Re [è] tutta gloriosa dentro; La sua vesta [è] tutta trapunta d'oro.
All glorious—the daughter of a king [sitteth] within, Brocades, wrought with gold, [are] her clothing!
14 Ella sarà condotta al Re in [vesti] ricamate, Avendo dietro a sè le vergini sue compagne, Che ti saranno [eziandio] addotte, [o Re].
In embroidered raiment, shall she be brought unto the king—The virgins that follow her, her companions, are to be conducted unto thee:
15 Ti saranno condotte con letizia, e con gioia; [Ed] entreranno nel palazzo del Re.
They shall be brought, with rejoicings and exultation, —They shall enter into the palace of the king!
16 I tuoi figliuoli saranno in luogo de' tuoi padri; Tu li costituirai principi per tutta la terra.
Instead of thy fathers, be thy sons, Thou shalt make them rulers in all the earth.
17 Io pubblicherò la memoria del tuo Nome, per ogni età; Perciò, ti celebreranno i popoli in sempiterno.
I will keep in remembrance thy Name, through each succeeding generation, For this cause, peoples, shall praise thee, to times age-abiding and beyond.
