Salmi 122

1 Cantico di Maalot, di Davide IO mi son rallegrato di ciò che mi è stato detto: Andiamo alla Casa del Signore.

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up. By David.” I was glad when they said to me, Let us go up to the house of the LORD!

2 O Gerusalemme, I nostri piedi son fermi nelle tue porte.

Our feet are standing Within thy gates, O Jerusalem!

3 Gerusalemme, che sei edificata Come una città che è ben congiunta insieme.

Jerusalem, the rebuilt city! The city that is joined together!

4 Là ove salgono le tribù, le tribù del Signore, Alla Testimonianza d'Israele, Per celebrare il Nome del Signore,

Thither the tribes go up, The tribes of the LORD, according to the law of Israel, To praise the name of the LORD.

5 Perciocchè quivi son posti i seggi per lo giudicio, I seggi della Casa di Davide.

There stand the thrones of judgment, The thrones of the house of David.

6 Richiedete la pace di Gerusalemme; [O Gerusalemme], prosperino quelli che ti amano.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May they prosper who love thee!

7 Pace sia nelle tue fortezze, E tranquillità ne' tuoi palazzi.

Peace be within thy walls, And prosperity within thy palaces!

8 Per amor de' miei fratelli e de' miei prossimi, Io dirò ora: Pace [sia] in te.

For my brethren and companions' sake will I say, Peace be within thee!

9 Per amor della Casa del Signore Iddio nostro, Io procaccerò il tuo bene.

For the sake of the house of the LORD, our God, Will I seek thy good!
